Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

UPDATE: Darn! It looks like Tippr has updated the fine print to state that credits cannot be applied to this deal. Sorry for the confusion. Also, Tippr is currently getting hit with lots of traffic, so be patient as their site is running incredibly slow.

Wow!  Currently, Tippr is offering up a *HOT* deal on already-discounted brand-name merchandise on Overstock.com and offering up a $20 voucher for only $10.  However, this deal gets even sweeter because whenever you sign up for a new account through this link, you’ll score a $5 credit – which means you can snag a $20 Overstock.com voucher for as low as only $5! (Sorry! It seems that credits can no longer be applied to this deal :().

To get in on this deal, sign up for an account here and then click on the “Today’s Deals” tab (top left) and you should see the Overstock.com offer. Click on it and then click on “Buy Now” and a box will pop up to complete your purchase.

Fine Print:
Limit per person: 1. Promotion Expires on January 19, 2013. Promotional value may only be redeemed through April 21, 2012, by 11:59 PM MST, except where prohibited by law; the cash value does not expire. Limit one voucher per person, per transaction.  This offer applies to U.S. orders only. May only be used to purchase goods or services under the “Shopping Tab”.  May not be used to purchase gift cards, cellular telephone plans, or for international orders.  Offer excludes orders comprising products from Books, Music, Movies, Games, and Electronics categories, as well as items within the Cars, Travel, Insurance, and Gold Redemption categories. This promotion cannot be combined with any other offer or coupon.

it keeps showing $10, does the $5 come off at the end ?

    • Brittany

Ya mine came off in check out.

  6. Katrina

  7. yenay

    Thanks collin

  8. K

Yay! I had a credit from referring my friends to getting the movie tickets a few months back, so I got mine free! Can’t beat that!!!

    • Stefanie

Thanks for commenting this because it made me check, and I have a $10 credit too!!! YAY!

      • Amy

I have a $5 credit too for referring a friend but the fine print says, “Credits cannot be used on this offer.” When I click to purchase it and I get the page to put in my credit card info the credit does not show up. How did you ladies get the $5 credit applied? Am I missing something, or is their another step that might show the credit?

      • Stefanie

Ugh… I clicked purchase, and it showed that the deal would cost $0 after the $10 credit, but one I hit the final “submit” it said that my card would be charged $10! I emailed them right away. I have had nothing but issues with Tippr.

    • Dekins

How did you use your credit? I have credit too but it says $0 when I try to buy the deal.

      • serena

        Did you refer anyone?

  9. Flora

If you sign up on Overstock, they will send you emails with free shipping or 10% off certain categories. I had used a previous deal and the discounts stack.

  10. Melissa

    Got it 🙂

  11. Tara

I’ve read nothing but bad reviews about this site. Does anyone have any good experiences? I think I just got burned on a Saveology deal I purchased in December, so I’m hesitant to buy from these random deal sites that seem to pop up every day.

    • Sharon

Thanks for mentioning this. I was just checking to see what other people have to say about Tippr. I’m glad I saved my $5.

I also got burned by Saveology. I’ve contacted them FOUR times already and have yet to get my money or the voucher code. They are bad news.

      • Amanda

I bought a fandango voucher from them before and when I went to redeem it it said that the voucher had already been used, I called customer service and they were great…refunded my money and my credits. I was hesitant to get on the Overstock deal due to that experience but I thought I would give one more shot since their customer service was so good!!

  12. Barb J

Got it with no problem. thanks.

  13. Kristina

Thanks! I was going to order a new coat on o.co this morning! Does anyone know if you can use more than one per purchase?

    • Suzy

•Limit one voucher per person, per transaction. :/

  14. Kim R

Mine keep showing that I will have to pay $10 for it too! I’m a new customer and the new sign on
email stated that I’ll “get $5 after your first purchase”. So the $5 credit can only be applied to the second purchase? I’m confused….

    • Suzy

If you do not see it at checkout, go to your email and confirm your account. The email says to do it but mine showed up automatically.

  15. Robin Klavon

Thanks … I just got one!

  16. ana

You should click only to “through this link” on the message above to receive it.

  17. Kim R

I just didn’t go far enough into the purchase process. The next screen that asked for payment info showed the credit! Yay!

  18. mary g.

after you fill out your name/email/cc info, click “Purchase”. the next page will say this:
    Thanks for your purchase!
A confirmation e-mail has been sent with your receipt. When the deal closes, we’ll charge your credit card (ending in XXXX) for the amount of $5.00 and e-mail your voucher(s).

  19. Brittany

I was just about to buy an area rug, so I’m stoked to save some $$!

  20. Jennifer

Getting ready to buy some new foam pillows. With this voucher it will be like buying one and getting one free!! Thanks 🙂

  21. dana

FYI– if you are wanting to bring some life to your home while everything outside looks “dead”, the ivy pots are absolutely gorgeous! They are $21.99- so $1.99 plus shipping with this deal. Ordered a set last month and they look great in my kitchen window. Thinking about ordering another set for another room!

  22. Elis

Anyone know how long it takes to get the extra $5 if someone orders from your referral link? Thanks!

  23. lindsay

It says in the fine print “No credits can be used with this offer.” Maybe the just changed it??

    • samirae

That’s weird I used my credit and it worked fine.

  24. Xenia

read the fine print: it says credits cant be used on this offer

  25. Carol Schipper

Not again, as soon as I purchase one of these deals, it turns out it’s not the deal I thought it was!!

  26. Lisa

My credit isn’t coming off on the screen where I place my credit card information & I just read the fine print that “credits can not be used for this purchase”. Oh well, I’ll save my $5.00 credit for another deal.

  27. SOKRIA

THE $5 CREDIT IS NOT ELIGIBLE ON THE OVERSTOCK DEAL. I WAS CHARGED $10 AND THEN I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME THE CREDIT IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THAT DEAL!!! THEY WERE NICE ENOUGH TO REFUND ME. BEWAREEEEEEEEE

    • Karen

On the purchase page, it says “•This promotion cannot be combined with any other offer or coupon”

    • samirae

Hmmm I wonder if mine will get canceled. I did the deal about an hour ago and it let me use my $10 credit I had.

  28. Jen

Not sure if the $5 credit is working??? It says in the fine print that you cannot use credits on this deal.

  29. Nina

They Changed it I was able to use my $5 credit when I purchased it at 10:30am it only cost me $5 ..

    • Barb J

same here. my confirmation says $5 however they have not taken it out of my account yet so i hope i don’t get a $10 surprise in my account tomorrow or else i will be calling them.

      • Nina

Yeah they better not charge me $10 I will be calling to. They should give to the people that already used the credit with it since they already sent a email invoice with the following Details and since I only authorized them to charge $5 to my credit card..

        Offer:
        $10 for $20 to Spend on Overstock.com
        Price:
        $10.00
        Quantity:
        1 voucher
        Credits Used:
        $5.00
        Total Charged:
        $5.00
Thank you for your business! We’re always here for you if you have any questions.

        Thank you,
        Tippr
        support@tippr.com

        • sara

The $5 credit also worked for me. But if they charge me $10 without authorization i’m calling too.

  30. allybell21

Yeah, they must have changed being able to use the credit. It will only give me the deal for $10.

  31. Rosella

They changed the fine print and will not allow the credit on this deal I got all the way to the check out and there website and now it says 10.00 🙁

  32. TheMama!

Dang-It! I thought maybe if I went far enough into the check-out process my $5 credit would apply but it never did I ended up purchasing the darn thing…not cool!

  33. paigethompson1221

Beware: I just signed up for Tippr after seeing this deal. I tried purchasing, but my card was declined, which was strange to me. Then my bank called me and said they had seen a lot of fraud coming from this company and were cancelling my card and sending me a new one. I did end up purchasing the deal on another card, before my bank called so I am going to cancel that card as well just in case.

  34. Amy

Why would they change the fine print once the deal is already live? That’s ridiculous. I was only going to buy when I could get it for $5.

  35. Ann

So I purchased this deal earlier for 5 bucks… what does that mean for me? Also, fraud, should I be concerned? Has anyone used Tippr before this post?

    • nina

I have bought from tippr before it was awhile ago when they had movie tickets for sale had no problem then hopfully no problems now..

  36. Melia

*blog & no sign up required ;p smart phones (or operator) not so smart 😉

  37. Susan

Phooey, when I purchased the deal it said they applied my $5 and was charging my credit card $5. My e-mail receipt says I am being charged $10.

“Thank you for your purchase. Your credit card will be charged within 24 hours of the deal ending (Friday, January 20). At that time you will receive another email with a link to print your voucher(s) and instructions on how to redeem.”

“Invoice DetailsOffer: $10 for $20 to Spend on Overstock.com
    Price: $10.00
    Quantity: 1 voucher

    Thank you,
    Tippr
    support@tippr.com

Also, I wanted to use this to make a purchase now. However, the email states the voucher won’t be sent until January 20 or 21.

I feel like we have fallen for a scam. 😢

  38. Bre

I sent an e-mail advising I didn’t notice the credit couldn’t be applied. Per my request, they cancelled my order. It’s not their fault (or Collins) I didn’t read the revised print before processing my order so I’m appreciative that they cancelled it. Lesson learned to me to look the deal over before I give someone my money!

  39. Ann

I want to keep reposting due to my pains…
Alright ladies… after the scare about Tippr and the other Overstock thing… I had to check my credit card balance. Tippr appears to be charging fraudulent charges all over my account. 1 dollar charges here and there spread out over the days. I did buy both overstock stuff that was posted and I’m having serious issues. Please check your accounts… I will never do Tippr or Groupilious whatever their names are ever again!!!!

  40. katrina

I bought this and still haven’t been charged or received the deal though I was told I would be charged within 24 hours .That was when this deal was first posted . 🙁 waiting for the cancel i guess

    • sara

Same here! Still nothing and it said it would be available 1/20 its not 1/21 and it says my credit card is “pending” which makes no sense.

      • Tomoko

I didn’t receive any follow up email from Tippr about this deal either. My deal is still pending too. 🙁

        • nina

Same here just checked and mine is also pending still :[

        • mindy

they responsed to my email today along with the voucher (they didn’t charge my card until this morning 1/23/12)

          • nina

Finally got my voucher and it worked and only charged my credit card $5.00 🙂

  41. Kim Bagdon

My credit card would not let them put the purchase through this was today 1-22-12 I was looking for my voucher to show up and I got an e-mail saying the purchase would not go through. I think my bank blocked it I e-mailed the bank and am waiting for a response. Too good to be true I guess…

    • mindy

just to let everyone knows. I used my debit card from pine cone research to purchase this deal and it went thru fine for $5. got my voucher today and use it at overstock.com/offers and it took $20 off my order with no problem. however, i couldn’t use 10% off first purchase nor free shipping. make sure you follow direction on the voucher exactly.

  42. Karen

Just tried to use my code and it would NOT work. I called Overstock and they manually applied a credit. They did assure me however that the deal with Tippr is legit but couldn’t explain why my code wouldn’t work 🙁
Took my code number to research….FYI.

(Also, it is the small alpha-numeric code, not the large numerical code listed on your printed page….)

    • trish

Had the same issue with having to go through overstock to use the code–wouldn’t work by just inputing the code as per the instructions.

      • mindy

        try overstock.com/offers

        • Karen

I did that…..and so did the overstock person I spoke with….it didn’t make any difference. Weird! However, they gave me the credit and my stuff arrived today, which is amazingly fast 🙂
