Where do you find it on mypoints? I signed in and can’t find the offer for the dvd.
Also, OT, but I just got my 15-in-1 Wii Family Pack of control thingies that you posted as an Amazon deal a couple days ago. That was fast, and it’s awesome. Thank you!
I’ve looked into booking a DC several times and during different seasons. Unfortunately for us frugal-doogles, their prices are consistently higher than others.
I agree, it is mighty expensive. I guess living in southern Ca I have quite a few attractions within a few hours drive so dropping a few grand on a single trip will just have to wait until I hit the lotto 😉
Can anyone point me in the direction of the free Disneyworld vaction planning dvd?
TIA!
Just click Collin’s link to “FREE Disney Cruise Line Vacation Planning DVD” – came right up for me ??
Thanks, but I’m looking for the Disney world DVD not the cruise vacations. The search on this site pulled up a post from last June and it is no longer valid. We’re trying to plan a trip for this summer.

I have a friend that’s a travel agent specializing in Disney parks and cruises. She has a ton of experience and can get you the absolute best deals. Her Facebook page is Jill’s Magical Travel https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jills-Magical-Travel/121374872837?ref=ts
I have been on the Wonder, the Dream (2nd trip on it in a few weeks!), and will be going on the new Fantasy this summer. I’d be happy to answer any questions I could help you with. Yes, their cruises are more expensive than others, but there are perks… room service included – other than drinks, and they tell you just to go down to the deck and get your free soda. Also, in 3 cruises, I’ve only heard one child cry for 30 seconds- parents cannot drag their children out of the superivsed play areas (especially on the Dream!) its so amazing! They are the only line with their own fireworks on the ship and they have an amazing party for all the night you are actually in the Carribbean. You pay for what you get and you get so much! Also, teens have an area, adults have an area, and kids have an area. Teens cant crash the adult areas. On Castaway, adults have their own beach, kid free. But the family beach is fine, too. They actually do own their own island, unlike other cruiselines.
Just to add to your comments CW. I just took my first Disney Cruise with my mom ( we are kids at heart) to Alaska and it was amazing, the service was fabulous, the activities were fun and being adults we never had that “oh man somone shut this kid up” expereince. We liked it so much we booked our next cruise on the boat! It’s very true you get what you pay for. I’m also a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member and it is the best!
ps- cw omg fireworks too! There are no fireworks on the alaskan cruise because of the surrounding area, so I’m really excited now for my up coming carribbean cruise 🙂
We have to talk Melissa! We have done the Carribbean twice, going in it 3rd time in a few weeks, then our first 7 day on the Fantasy. My husband’s extended family lives in Ketchikan AK so we are considering the Alaska cruise next!

I have been thinking about booking a Disney cruise, and yes it is higher than other lines, but as in going to Disney World, you are paying for the Disney name and everything that comes with it. Do you think there is a good time to go when prices seem to be a bit less than others? I have wondered if there are times that would not be recommended to go (weather, holidays)
Thanks in advance!
Amanda
Well, in our opinion (hubby and I) you are paying for the service. We needed to go somewhere when we boarded the ship and the assistant Capt personally walked us there. We witnessed the captain one night join other adults in one of the adult restaurants for dinner! Their service is superior and the ships are super clean. There is no gambling on Disney ships. I’ve never seen crazy college kids or excessively drunk or rowdy adults either. My hubby and I are not club people but we thoroughly enjoyed the adult clubs on the ship!
As for when to go. As with any cruiseline I think the cheaper times are hurricane season, when kids are in school. The second week of Sept is peak hurricane season. I’ve seen friends get rates at like half off, but you also take the chance there may be a storm and they may have to sail around it and miss a port/castaway cay, etc. Hurricane season runs June 1 to Nov. 30 but on the Atlantic side the storms statistic is usually August and after. Typically the June and July storms go to the Gulf of Mexico. But of course, what has been normal with the weather across the entire nation? LOL 🙂 One of the cruises we went on (the Wonder, when it sailed out of Port Canaveral…its now on the other coast for Alaska cruises), several people we met got some deal where the adults booked and the kids went free! I’m not sure how often or when they offer that but it would be something to watch for especially if your travel dates are very flexible.
I also had a friend who booked very very last minute (like sailing in the next week) and got like $600 a person for a tiny room in the bottom of the boat…like a last minute cancellation. But she lives in Orlando and was a stay at home mom with a retired husband, they could pull that off. There are many categories of rooms. We did the deluxe with the big picture window, and a balcony room. Both nice. The Dream also has interior rooms with a “window” – the room has a window looking TV screen and you can look at any of the ship cameras view so you feel like you are looking out a real window and surprise disney characters come up on it and visit you! Those rooms are the cheaper. Disney is also known for its split bathrooms, which absolutely rock!!! One is the shower and sink, one is the toilet and a sink. Two people can get ready for the day at the same time…its great. I also think disney cruiseline staterooms are bigger than most (depends which one you choose of course). Hope this helps…
We just got off a disney cruise yesterday! It was so much fun! The entertainment rocked! Even though the boat was full, it didn’t feel too crowded. Disney does a good job if spreading people out. We will definitely go again!
