Does anyone know if this works with prepaid amex cards (not the regular credit card)?

    • Cheryl

“American Express Corporate Cards and Prepaid Cards (such as American Express®Gift Cards and Serve (SM) cards) are not eligible.”

  2. Amber

Those seem like great perks, but am I tr only one nervous about syncing my cc with a social networking site?

    • B

Nope, I won’t touch it. $5 at McDonald’s is not worth the risk.

that’s insane….what is wrong with these marketing departments!?
*spoken from someone who has gotten their card number stolen to china several times

You can also use your built-up Amex pointsto buy itmes on Amazon 🙂

    • Debbie

This is so cool-I have Amazon Prime.
Just another great way to save even more when I shop A & get the bonus savings with my Amex points! Sweet!

American express is always doing great things like this and you are fully protected they wont abandon you if there is a problem.

Does anyone care about privacy anymore?

    • Carol Dawn

Guess not, I wouldn’t do it.

If you are using a credit card, you have forsaken privacy already, IMHO. I have had an AmEx for years, and only find out about these promos through Hip2Save, not AmEx. THANKS COLLIN!!!!!

You can also sync AE with Foursquare….hundreds of businesses with Spend $5 Save $5. Kind of annoying as a business owner, because their promotion knocked my foursquare promotion off the list!

  9. Erica

I’ve been doing the Amex foursquare promos and until recently I haven’t had any problems with it. We went to Red Robin and they had a promo where you bought $30 worth of food and then got $10 back on a statement credit. I need to call and ask about that one though…

Well… you’re registering with AMEX, not a third party, and you’re getting $$$ to tweet (shill) a one-time message for the reward. What you’re giving up… well, AMEX will know (follow?) your twitter account, and you will be spamming your followers… and you risk being shut down by Twitter as a spammer (in practice it seems like a low risk for intermittent tweets). If that were to happen your Twitter account will be suspended, and the appeal process is quite cumbersome, FWIW. So why not create a new Twitter (spam account), and “sync” it with your AMEX card. If it’s shut down, you make another, and you don’t alienate your followers with tweet spam… just a thought. Easy money!!!

I’ve done it with Foursquare and their Facebook offers. I went to Whole Foods sat spent 50.00 immediately received an email stating I will see the 10.00 credit in a few days. If not I can call AMEX and they immediately give me the credit. They have a lot of security in place. I do get a few spammers but block them… I think its good they offer it to people, if you want to use it ok, if not, then its ok too. Options

Can you baby-step a newbie through foursquare?

Also, after you sync your card and then tweet to load twitter offers, will you get any kind of confirmation?

Thanks–I’ve avoided most social networking, but am interested in using if it can save me money.

  12. Michelle

Yes you get confirmation via tweet

    • jac

      Thank you, Michelle!
