I had that problem too but it worked when I clicked on the banner at the top of the page where it tells you there are no deals. hth
It told me there were no deals in my area too, but when I looked closely at the top of the screen, there is a small banner that has the offer on it. Just click that banner and it will take you to the store. I hope that helps.

It might say there are no deals in your area but the banner should be at the top that you can click on. You don’t have to be in a certain area to get this deal. I already got one and added it to my amazon account. By the way, it says the promotional value expires 03/20/12!! This means you need to add the gift card to your amazon account today or you might just end up getting $5. You should get an email within minutes.
Mine does not say this. It says 3/20/12 for the purchase date. The “expires on” column is blank.

Is the Order ID the information that I enter to apply the gift card to my account? I have tried about 10 to apply it and it says there is something wrong with my claim code. What am missing?
I don’t believe it is the order ID. After I completed purchase it said processing. After about 5 minutes I refreshed the page and it showed the claim code that you could click to copy with a click here link to paste and apply to you account. Hope this helps.

No. You have to wait a bit util they take your money. Then go to my vouchers. It should be there and says unused. If it says processing then wait some more. Look to the left hand column for a green tab that says view promotion code. There you will seer the more common letter/number gift card code. Copy and paste on amazon. HTH
No don’t enter your Order ID. After the payment processes you’ll get an e-mail with a link to the code (or keep refreshing the voucher page till it give you the option to see the code).

Thanks Collin – I got one too! Also a lesson in “Gift Cards”. I thought I could use the gift card my husband got from buying a Norton protection system ($45). After entering everything & getting a “Thank-you!”, in my e-mail I got a notice that it didn’t go thru! I called CS at Amazon & it turns out that rarely can you use a gift card to buy a gift card. I was shocked, I thought it was like cash. She said sometimes AMEX allows it, but she’s never seen it happen w/MC or VISA gift cards. She did try it again just to be sure & it wouldn’t work. Ended up using MC – didn’t want to miss out. Has anyone else ever encountered this? Am I just dumb?? Bottom line – am very pleased to get this deal!!! 🙂
Dont feel bad. In retail you’ve never been able to do this. As far as Amex for several years now. I think it all started with changing paying for bills (mortgage, electricity, etc) with credit cards and went from there. Some people were either paying bills with credit or buying gift cards with their credit to pay bills with and they ended up going to just cash and debit withdrawals.

Hope you have better luck than I did – mine was a debit Visa card too. Watch your e-mail in case they tell you to “retry” it. When they did, it said I had 3 days to get it resolved. Like you, I had never done an offer like this – Boy am I learning stuff every day! 🙂
