Everything a gardener needs!
Here’s a great deal to get you excited for spring!  🙂 Currently, Spring Hill Nursery is offering up $20 off a $20 purchase when you enter the code 414217 at checkout.  Keep your order as close to $20 as you can, and you’ll just pay shipping!  There are several options in the liquidation section, like the Non-stop Begonias on sale for only $9.99 (regularly $17.99!).

There are plenty of choices, ranging from flowers to fruit plants to gardening supplies.  Check out this yummy looking Heritage Red Raspberry Plant, which is everbearing and produces large, dark red raspberries for $15.99.

Here are what some of the reviews at Spring Hill Nursery are saying about this plant:

This Raspberry is a Great Grower. The berries are just right for jams and fresh eating. The plants hold up well in sub-zero temps and grow back every year. Care is also easy. HIGHLY Recommended.

I couldn’t believe how big the bushes were when I received them from Spring Hill. Twice the size of those from Home Depot for the same price. Highly recommend.

Don’t forget to add coupon code 414217 at checkout to get $20 off your order!  It says to enter your account number and key code, but you only have to enter the coupon code in the key code section when you check out to receive the discount.

It looks like the items you have listed won’t ship until next spring (according to the their website). Is that right?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

From reading the description these should ship this spring… I think? Where are you seeing next spring?

      • Erin Blakely

I saw it listed for all the liquidation priced plants. Thanks Collin for the clarification.

      • dana

I ordered things that are to be shipped in spring and got shipping confirmation saying they will be delivered the beginning of April. So it is this spring 🙂

  2. Linda

I almost ordered over $100 worth of fruit trees from them but changed my mind when I found this site of reviews:
    https://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/c/188/
    418 positives
    149 neutrals
    379 negatives
Just think we should all make educated decisions.

I would not recommend buying any live plants from them but to go for other gardening supplies. My personal experience from them is not good for plants.

A good resource that rates online gardening supplies (plants, seeds, etc) is Dave’s Garden. They have what they call The Garden Watchdog and it is composed of member’s ratings on online gardening stores from which they have personally made purchases. I have been a member for several years. You do not have to be a member to use The Garden Watchdog – only to post to it.

Ok this may sound crazy but are all these plants bulbs as in I will need to plant them or are they already blooming plants???

    • Steph

In most cases when you order from catalogs you’ll be getting bulbs, seeds, or bare root plants. You’ll need to plant them. 🙂

  5. Kristin

Not to sound ungrateful but shipping is a whopping $12.95!!!! Omg. That seems pretty steep!!! Hmmmm….. Anybody else think so?

    • Carol

Yes!!! That shipping price looks like it more than covers the price of a couple of plants.

    • Steph

Agreed. Shipping is too high to make the savings worth it in my experience.

    • Savings Viking

It depends on what you’re getting. I’ve been trying to remember to pick up a second blueberry bush, so that my blueberries can cross pollinate and actually grow. I was willing to pay about $25 at a local garden center. $13 for a new blueberry bush to cross pollinate with my older one is a good deal, therefore it’s worth it to me. If I were just getting decorative plants, perhaps it would be a different story, but I figure I just saved $12 off a blueberry bush. Any little savings helps!

    • Cathy

Not only is there $12.95 in shipping, but it was $9.95 BEFORE I applied the code, so they while the $15 overall discount is nice, it’s not truthful advertising. Try it yourself, add items to your cart, shipping $9.95, apply code shipping $12.95. BUT all in all, $12.95 for 24 of the bulbs I wanted I’ll sacrifice….thanks!!

  6. Jodi

Shipping before the code was $9.95 and $12.95 after entering it???

    • Vera

      Same here!

    • Kris

      Same here, Not good business!!!

      • Christina

Mine actually showed $7.95 and then jumped to $12.95 after entering the code. Instead of $20 off you actually only get $15. I agree, not good business!

  7. Danielle

Here is the link in their FAQs. https://springhillnursery.com/article.asp?ai=171. It states in writing that orders up to $20 ship for 7.95, and orders 20.01 to 40.00 ship for 9.95. When it adjusts, call their customer service to get it fixed. I got this tip from an old blog. It isn’t active anymore, but there is still a lot of excellent information if you want to see. This is her link to the spring hill deal from a couple years ago, but she references the shipping issue. I also highly recommend going to the “Getting Started” page and scroll down to the “Family Bills” section. She has tons of information on cutting regular monthly bills.

I just tried ordering from them, and after I put in my CC number, they charged it full amount! I just emailed them to cancel the order. I wouldn’t try to order from them. Not a great company!

    • Jennifer

It did the same for me…I called the customer service # and gave them the key code and they credited my card $20. So, I actually end up paying $3 less than I originally thought since my shipping cost remained at 9.95 instead of 12.95 with the error.

  9. Kandi V

I ordered the strawberries! I can’t wait! Thanks Collin!

  10. Heather

Same thing happened to me Jodi!! I have ordered from them in the past. They are very good at replacing anything that dies. But to pay the $12.95 shipping just because of the discount made me cancel my order!!

  11. Shanna

My mom loves to garden, will be getting some gardening tools for her bday!

  12. Sue

My shipping was $5.95 until I put in the code. That kinda changed my mind about the order.

  13. HEATHER

I have ordered from this company a few times and nothing I have planted has ever come back the next year. I am an avid and knowledgeable gardener, but the plants that shipped were very small and just didn’t make it. I would recommend looking elsewhere for plants.

    • Tilla R Ham

i agree heather, i ordered sevearl hydrangeas (spelling) and lilacs which already grow amazingly well in our yard and not one of them lived

    • Suzanne

I agree – I ordered strawberries and a blueberry bush from them in the past on a deal like this. The blueberry “bush” was nothing more than a stick – I doubted if it was even part of the blueberry family – it looked like they literally picked up a stick somewhere! The strawberries were a little better although scrawny and dehydrated. The leaves perked up a little after being planted and watered but they never bloomed or produced a thing and didn’t come back the following year. Not worth the $$$!!!!

    • Jamie

I had the same experience with 2 of their blueberry bushes, one from an original order and one from a replacement they sent me. I requested another replacement and never got anything.

  14. Diane

I figured I’d take a chance and order from them. I am a terrible gardener. My plants all die no matter where I buy them from – at least this way I can tell myself it’s their fault when they die and not mine. 🙂

    • Tilla R Ham

hahha diane, this cracked me up:)

  15. Susan

This has always been a well known nursery about 6 miles from me. It changed hands several years ago and it is not family run now. I had a friend that used to work there until she had part of her finger cut off due to the lack of safety features on their equipment. I’m not surprised at hearing some the above negative comments. I know no one locally that actually buys anything there.

  16. Belle

Shipping is very high! Most of these plants can be purchased at a local nursery, home depot, lowes, etc. for the cost of the shipping from this place. Plus there are many bad reviews……not worth the risk.

  17. sonia

I have purchsed the pink and yellow magic roses the past two years and all but one have done great. When you get these they are in a 3″ pot but within one year they were full sized. The first year I did get a lot of blooms throughout the summer and into fall. Last summer I bought a mystery box and all but three of the items did not make it. I am thinking about getting some more roses with this deal.

  18. Deb

I am also an avid gardener here in the Acworth/Woodstock, GA area.
For my money, I always go with Lowe’s here on 92, sometimes HDepot across the st. I know they are big box but the buyers for Lowes are excellent at selecting a wide variety of good growers, year after year. I have a yard full of daylilies, crape myrtles trees(LOVE these!), irsis, azaleas, etc. Almost ALL from Lowes. Both stores offer mback if your plant dies.

A spring tip for novice gardeners-you can’t go wrong with DAY LILIES! Sooo many colors! They are gorgeous, silly easy to grow and VERY forgiving. Plus-you can split them with one slice of the shovel and make you a second plant!

  19. kim

When I entered the code it accepted it but after I entered my credit card information, on the order page it did not accept the code. I called them back and told them to cancell the order.

  20. jennifer

I tried to order, but as with others, my shipping went up when I entered the code. I called customer service and got ahold of a non-english speaking representative. After wasting my time getting all my info and the order, she told me she couldn’t do anything about the shipping charges. What a waste of time! I did email the company and complain, who knows if they’ll get back to me.

  21. Andi

They had a garden store when I was in high school and I worked there. They were a great company. Lots of hard work (I am grateful for now) went into that job. The product was a good one. I am not sure about the mail order, but was very excited to see this offer.

  22. Saving Your Sense and Cents!

I was told when I called customer service that with the coupon code there is a flat rate shipping charge of $12.95. So no matter what you get or how much, you will pay $12.95 with this code. I have been researching where to purchase several varieties of flowers that you just can’t find anywhere around here locally. Most of the places I have looked into charge pretty hefty shipping for live plants. I guess it is all the wrapping and extra care, etc. I just punched in exactly what I got from Spring Hill into the Home Depot website (local stores do not carry them) and HD would charge me $47.91 for the same three plants…plus they do not guarantee their plants. It actually says that they are not guaranteed. So for paying only the $12.95 shipping, this is still a good deal and the plants are guaranteed.

    • Belle

Both Lowes and Home Depot have a one year guarantee on their plants, so not certain why you are stating otherwise.

  23. Scott

I’ll also chime in and warn everyone. I participated in a deal similar to this a couple of years ago. Not one of the plants I received survived. As such, I cannot recommend this.

  24. Linda Heinz

I placed two orders last night using the code. This morning I called customer service to see if they could combine the two shipments. I was very leary after reading all the negative comments and wanted to cancel my shipments. They were very friendly and very helpful. My shipments were combined and they told me about their lifetime guarantee on their plants.

    • Belle

How does the lifetime guarantee from this company work? Mailing dead plants via USPS could get costly.

      • Jamie

You are just supposed to email the company to request a replacement of your dead plant, they will ship you a new plant during the correct time of the year (usually not until the next spring or fall). But I had a blueberry bush that never made it out of the box they replaced it once with yet another one that never survived out of the box and I never received my next replacement.

  25. Amy

I ordered strawberries and sunflower plants. Was already planning to get those this year, so just paying the shipping didn’t bother me.

  26. AOK

Shipping for me changed from $7.95 to $12.95 after I entered the code. I cancelled the order. If you have an offer, you don’t make it up by changing the shipping, that is deceitful. This is not a good offer.
