Rite Aid: Update on Coupon Policy (Good News!)

If you are a Rite Aid shopper, you may have noticed my sad face on the Rite Aid Weekly deals that were posted this past weekend. The sad face was due to the fact that Rite Aid updated their coupon policy last week and implied that only one cents off coupon could be used for each pair of items on a B1G1 50% Off sale. However, I am super duper happy (yep, big happy face :D) to announce that Rite Aid has revised the coupon policy yet again (and this time it is good news!). Click here to read the most current Rite Aid Coupon policy and take note of this important change/clarification:

Customers can use up to two coupons with a Buy One, Get One at a % off promotion, provided the total value of the coupons does not exceed the selling price of the two items combined. 😀 😀 😀

Thanks for all your work to make sure we’re always using coupons honestly 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are so welcome, Kristen! 😀

  2. steph

Thanks for this! do you know if we can use 2 $1/1 coupons on a buy one get one free deal yet?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Steph!

No, you can only use one cents off coupon per pair of items purchased in a BOGO sale. Here is what is stated in the most current coupon policy:

Rite Aid accepts Buy One, Get One Free coupons, however only one coupon can be used for each pair of items purchased. A customer can use one “cents off” coupon (a coupon of fixed value such as $.50, $1.25, etc.) in conjunction with the item they are purchasing on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion (or with a Buy One, Get One Free coupon), although the value of the cents off coupon cannot exceed the selling price of the item.

Yahooey! Collin, you are the best!

  4. christy

my loreal hair coupons says 4 off 2 was there diffrent values for diffrent regions?

    • pl4ygiirl

i been wondering the same thing because mine does say $4/2 nd i get 2 different newspapers and in one newspaper i get regional coupons but they are all $4/2. I want to know if some got the $4/1

  5. Amber

This is so funny because I am a rite aid employee and I learn of our coupon policies changing on your website. lol. Crazy!!!

  6. MeMe

OMG…I did not know that you cant do that before. No wonder I was always having problems with my coupons. :/ Sorry Rite aid.

  7. Ana

The 2$ John frieda from 3/4SS EXCLUDES full repair (in really tiny print). You can however use the 3$/2 right next to it.

    • Kristen

I think that’s why she said to buy two Full Repair items and use the $3/2 coupon for those, then buy 2 Root Awakening and use two $2 coupons for those. Phew! Couponing sure can be confusing (at least to me!) 😉

      • Ana

You’re right! I thought it was root awakenings. Already did this deal and it was awesome. Buy another set in a different transaction and it’s an even better deal.

  8. Rachel

While picking up a couple things yesterday, my RA cashier said very soon you’ll have to wait 24 hours to us UPs. Any word of this elsewhere?

RA used to be my favorite drugstore stop, but it’s slowly slipping away!

    • Patti

Aw, that would stink. I pretty much use them right away, so that I don’t throw them out!!

      • mel

Cashier told me the same thing last week. She said it was to shop shelf clearers from rolling their UPs when there are high limits (like 4 is high?!) Seems a little late for that! And every time they take a step forward, they take 2 steps back with some other funky dunk changes!

        • Monique

I’m in the test area and currently we have to wait till 6am the next morning. It has helped tremendously on shelf clearing. I am actually able to do a lot more deals, even some late in the week. Whereas before if I wasn’t able to go by Sunday night/Monday morning I was out of luck for the week.

    • terri

I think it’s good to do that…stops shelf clearers!! yah….

    • Amber

I’m a ra employee and I haven’t heard that yet. I guess I will have to ask when I go into work today!

    • Ketryna

I am in the test area and you do have to wait until the next morning to use your +ups. It has it’s pros and cons. I fortunately have enough plus ups to cover my entire purchase without having to break it up into a million transactions, but if I do find another deal later in the day I have to wait until the next day to use them. It does prevent shelf clearing, although I find that the +up limits they put on some of these deals also does the same. I have stopped using other accounts to take advantage of some of the freebee deals. I am content purchasing the limit on just my account.

Great news! Obviously they lost a ot of customers. Last time I went there the store was empty. I also ended up leaving empty-handed because the one thing I went for was out of stock, of course. Now if only they would educate their cashiers/managers on this policy and stock their shelves a little (lot) better. Thanks Collin. You’re always on top of everything. 🙂

    • Carter

My Rite Aid used to always be out of the sale items I wanted. When the new match-ups come out friday or saturday, I print the best deals and take it to the store manager so he can determine how much to order. They get no support from corporate on how “hot” an item might be. Now he can order appropriately and at least get additional items in during the week. He loves it because he sells more product. Corporate thinks he’s a genius for figuring out what to order. And I always get what I need.

      • Amanda

Carter I love your solution! Way to be proactive!

      • Jonette

i wished I could do the same but my ra is …. Well it’s like they don’t care to have Couponers in the store so they could care less if they have the merchandise

    • Amber

You can order a lot of items when you do a ad order but it doesn’t mean they will send you what you need. Please don’t treat associates and Managers like it’s their fault because the shelves are empty. Normally they only stock maybe 4 items on the shelf. Rite aid isn’t a major grocery store. Why haven’t people realized that by now!

  10. Heather

Collin- Is there a way to access the March Video values now, or are they only available during the actual current month? I would love to get the John Frieda deals, but I didn’t get those March video deals!

    • Christina

Heather, they are only available to you the month they run to earn. Once you earn you can print before they expire.

      • Heather

        Bummer! Thank you!

  11. Doll Bautista

The coupon for the Loreal says Use 4 $4/1 coupons from the 3/25 RP, but I looked at the coupon, but it is $4/2, do you really have a coupon $4/1.,I was thinking maybe its regional? Thank you!

  12. Rebecca

Can someone tell me if the Fast Flats deal works for him/her? My Rite Aid was completely rude when I tried. They wouldn’t ring up BOGO 50% and said they didn’t qualify.

  13. Christina

Just got back from RA, decided give one more chance with the change you posted, even printed it. Cashier and manager was unaware of a switch back so wouldn’t honor my printed copy with todays date at the bottom of my print. Asked if they would call and verify or go in office look up and verify….told no they will get the change if it in fact occured. So walked out, afraid that was the last chance they got from me. I even told them that they will loose me…no go. Price match is my way to go for sure now.

  14. Christina

Collin, Fast question, I have been having an issue with pop ups for survey on your site for a few weeks now even though I have my pop up blocker on. Your site is the only one so far. It causes the site to freeze or load slow. Not sure what is happening but figured I’d ask if you had anyone else asking about this or having this occur. Thanks for any responce 🙂

  15. jessie

does anyone know what I can do about Up rewards that I accidently let expire? Is there a number I can call? Thanks!

    • Nancy

Jessie, sorry to tell you that once they expire they’re gone! At least with my RAs!

    • Denise

You can contact them at 1-800-RITEAID (1-800-748-3243) or e-mail/live chat with them at riteaid.com. Click on “help” link at the very bottom of the page and it will give you a choice of how you want to contact them. Last year I forgot I had Up Rewards and were expired about one week. Rite Aid sent me my Up Reward through the mail. I had to include the UP Reward serial number as I did mine online. Hope this helps.

      Denise

    • lovedeals

My store manager accepts expired one. because he knows I go there once or twice a week so I won’t do it on purpose. He tells you are regular customer so it’s fine with us.
I would say talk to your manager.

  16. rachel

wait is there still a limit of only 4 like coupons? cause i dont see that stated on there policy anymore?

  17. heatherberlin

oh boo!!!!! can’t do this because I did not print my coupons from March!!!!! darn!

  18. Karen S

I ran off to my Rite Aid shortly after reading the new policy but was disappointed when the Dr. Scholl’s Insoles/Devices Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off did not include the Fast Flats. I tried and the cashier said they were not included. Also my store had slightly higher prices for items like 5.29 for the Revlon nail polish and 7.49 for the John Frieda. I also got a deal on the Breathe Right 3.99 using the VV from March and April for 1.50 and 2 mc for 1.00 so I got them for 1.49! Love this site!!

  19. juvy

I have a question about breathe right so u can able to use the coupon from march and april?

    • Christina

Yes, because they are 2 different ones, and your buying 2. You cannot ask a friend for another april. Yes u can also share VV’s

    • Karen S

Yes I was able to use both months vv coupons and two mfgr coupons to get them for 1.49!

  20. Marnie

Yeah my RA knew the new coupon policy. No trouble using all those coupons tonight! Thank you so much!

  21. Kali

that’s wierd that you can only use one coupon per pair on a BOGO FREE deal. I have used two coupons before at Rite Aid and I have never had a problem. Maybe it’s a district thing.

  22. April

I got this deal at Rite Aid for the L’oreal and used the following:
$5 off Youth Code Video Values March and got the Youth Code Foaming Gel Cleanser @7.29 and paired that with a $1/1 Manufacturer’s coupon and used the $2 Loreal Excellence Hair Color $2 March Video Values paired with another $1/1 and then got a Studio Line Shampoo and Conditioner with (2) $4/1 and had a moneymaker with my $10 UP Rewards.
