I went to target the other day, and was told they will only accept one target coupon now, per item. Has any one had the same experience?

    • Kari

Where is your target? I’m in daytona beach florida and I got the same treatment today. I posted farther down on the site. I just walked away and left my cart full of stuff right there.

      • T

I am in Sacramento, CA. I shopped at a different location than normal when I tried to buy 3 of the same items and use 3 target coupons. I was told that it was their “new policy” as of Wed. I also just walked away, as I was disappointed.

    • Laura Smiley

Isn’t one coupon PER ITEM a standard? Are you talking about one coupon PER GUEST? Target Store Coupons do now print with a “One Coupon Per Guest” verbiage. At the two Targets I shop they still take multiple Store Coupons. When I asked they said it was up to them how many to take. If you have another Target in your area you may want to try there.

      • Kari

1coupon per guest. It didn’t matter if it was theirs or a manufacturer coupon she inform me I could only use 1 coupon per transaction and I wasn’t allowed to do multiple transactions. It didn’t matter how many items I had in my buggy I could only use 1 coupon in the whole transaction. If corporate tells me that I won’t be shopping there anymore. Kmart is up the road and they double 5 coupons a day up to a dollar.

        • danielle

Contact them! That is so very wrong! Bring the coupon policy with you next time.

i just got done writing to Target, because I was informed today by a manger, that a new policy has started where coupons cannot be used with clearance items. I asked since when. because I use them all the time on clearance items and just this past wednesday they were taken. She tells me that was wrong and she will accept my coupon today. Sadly, it was because the coupon beeped and no one could figure out how to take the coupon, they finally price adjusted it. It was the 15% off apparel kids item. I made her read over the coupon and show me where it stated it could not be used on clearance items. She was pissed at me and I don’t care.

        • T

I was told that there was no limit for manufacturer coupons.

    • Char

I’m in the Richmond, VA area. I’ve always been able to use 2 of the same Target coupon in a transaction, but not last week. Seems they’re enforcing the policy stated on the coupon.

    • whatsthedeal

See the posts below – I think probably Target is trying to avoid the shelf clearing by limiting the coupons – problem is it always seems to be enforced on the wrong people!

      • T

        You are so right….

        • Lisa

Here is the irony. We hear “print now” or ” you will need multiple computers” (to make a deal work) and other such phrases that that encourage and promote mass buying on most coupon blog sites. The stores encourage volume buying with “must buy 10” to get the advertised savings or give us coupons so frequently via magic machines, register rewards or up rewards that we make more stops to the store than we ever intended. Because of this we buy the 10 assorted items when we really only wanted 3 or stop in a store to get an item we do not need just because its free. This builds a mentality of over consumption and addiction. Is it a big shock when someone becomes a glutton? I personally don’t clear shelves but I have far more than what I need and I give stuff away all the time. Then the stores e-mail us constantly to make us aware of another deal but when we go into the store to redeem the offer we are frequently treated like opportunists that are taking money directly out of the cashiers pocket. I don’t know about you but when this happens to me I feel just plain bad. Most of the food deals are unhealthy to feed our family on a steady basis and the running to stores takes away from family time or relaxation. At first I found this a life saver as my husband was laid off and we NEEDED to save the money. Then after doing it awhile, I found it heady to get so much for free. It progressed into weight gain from the poor quality nutrition of too many free candy bars or frozen meals. When I see a shelf clearer all I can think is there before the grace of God go I. Lets face it, those shelf clearers are getting nothing for free. They are paying for it, just not in the form of money. I would say instead of being frustrated by them, pray for moderation for them.

Am I missing the Target weekly deals post or has it not posted yet? Just checking because I don’t see it… thanks!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I haven’t posted it yet… it will be posted this evening. Stay tuned! 🙂

  3. Tara

My store opens at 8:00 and I was there by 8:10. The shelves were already cleared of all the Banana Boat. The cashier said some lady before me had her cart full. So frustrating!!!!!

    • animity

I meet or shelf clearer in our area. She said she does it because she donates all of it to charity. I told her some of the families in the area would like to save some money too and maybe to leave the shelf and least half full. She told me she doesn’t care and will continue to do it. SOOOO FRUSTRATING!

      • Kari

I never clear the shelves and I also leave coupons for other people to use. I do donate a lot of my stuff but I make sure other people can save too.

      • Julie T

I’d lay you odds she isn’t donating them to charity. Why would you care about charity but not care about someone who also wants to get a deal?

    • Amanda

This irratates me so much. Especially now because I keep seeing a bunch of people in the area having stockpile garage sales and I’m assuming they are the shelf clearers. I really want to go just to scream at them!

  4. Tammy

Collin You are wonderful !!! I know I can always go to your site and find great deals. Thank you very much for all you time you put into your site.

  5. Lisa

I would like to know with giftcard promo if T & M coupons subtotal correctly? I have had trouble in the past and end up having to go to customer service to get it resolved.

  6. Kari

I know this off the subject but has anyone elses target managers come up to them and tell them the new coupon policy is now only one coupon per person and you cannot do multiple checkouts. I had this done to me today and I just left the cart full of items with her and walked out. This is the 2nd time in a row I have been treated badly in there and I’m calling corporate in the morning.

    • juli

Yes. Earlier this year I had a very rude manager say the same thing to me. He was very rude. I thankfully have another local Target. I have started to shop there. I have NOT returned to the other one.

      • Kari

It seems for a company that lost money last quarter would encourage people to shop there. Unlucky for me that’s the closest target and it’s still far away. It just seems the one on sib blvd. In daytona is trying to get rid of customers. She went as far as to say some of my coupons were forgeries and they wouldn’t get paid for them. I have never been treated so bad as a customer in my life. Maybe the CEO should go on undercover boss and see how bad their customers are getting treated.

        • Diana

You have to think about the people that work in the stores though. The customer is always right. So the second they can tell you that you cannot do something of course they are going to run up to you clicking their heels just to try and ruin your day. Dont let them get you down ladies! That is just how some people are!

          • Kari

I ran a business that dealt with the public and I would never think of doing that to a employee in front of the customers. If they continue this way they will put their selfs out of business.

    • animity

Corporate has told me it is at the discretion of the manager. Some managers are jerks at mine and there is one that is awesome. I always figure out his schedule and go when he is there. He doesn’t care because he realizes the money is not coming from his pocket and that they are actually making more money on us couponers.

  7. Russ

Worked great for me. Bought two Sport CoolZone for $4.99 each, used (2) $1MQ and (2) TQ, paid $6.19 ($.21 tax), and got my $5 Target Gift card. So $0.60 each. Not bad! 😀

  8. Kari

If anyone knows a better target near ormond beach I would love to know about it. I won’t go back to the one in daytona beach.

    • Kari

There’s one in St. Augustine…(not exactly close, but it’s in a less populated area).

      • Kari

I’m between deland and bunnel fla. I’m just wondering if it was worth the trip to deland. Their manager might treat the customers and employees better. Last time I went to the daytona store the manager chewed the cashier out in front of customers. I thought it would be better today but I was wrong.

  9. Ashley

At my target they were having issues. The ad says only 6 oz of both brands are a part of the $5 gift card deal. Most of the sunscreen bottles are not 6 oz. 🙁 they even had them marked with the gift card deal on the shelf for bigger sizes. They gave me the $5 off manually but said that they would be changing the signs right away. I hope others stores are more easy going!

  10. eve

I’m in Orlando Fl . The manager ( who was doing the checkout ) also said its only one Target q/customer.I was gonna do the Dial deal. She also refused the Gold Bond powder q saying it doesn’t have the bubbles something in the barcode. I was so frustrated & embarrassed cuz there were people behind. Of course I left all the stuff. Now I avoid shopping there as much as possible.

    • Kari

The manager in daytona said it would be 1 coupon period. It didn’t matter if it was theirs or a manufacturer coupon. Only 1 per person. They didn’t want their shelves looking empty

      • animity

I don’t understand that. Don’t you want product to move? Isn’t that the point of being in business?

      • Julie T

Definately contact corporate about that, Kari.

  11. Shanna

I found $2 hang tag q’s on some banana boat at my local cvs! I have been reading the comments and I hope I don’t have issues like others at my local target.

  12. mary

I am in south florida, found only 2 @ $6.49, someone wiped out the shelves. After I paid for my stuff I saw the manager changing some price tags

  13. anne k

Target in Rochester Hills MI would only allow the 6oz bottles for the sun screen. And they were 6.49 and 7.99 for the two different kinds. Manager was a real pistol about the whole thing. Had to buy 2 different snscreens to use the Target coups. Guess I be thinking real hard about running to Target from now on. My serenity had reached its limit with Target and poor customer service and the new coupon policy. Just like when I said goodbye yo RiteAid after their coupon policy change.

  14. Ze

You can’t use the Banana Sport Target coupon on the Aloe Lotion or Cooling Lotion. It is not a Banana SPORT item. Just a FYI.

    • Ze

Never mind the cooling lotion says sport but the aloe lotion doesn’t.

  15. amy

I had the same problem with them taking two of the same Target coupons for the first time last week. I had a manu buy 2 items get $1 off along with a Target coupon for each item and they would only take 1 of the Target coupons, which meant I couldn’t use both the Targets and the manu coupons together. Very disappointed in Target right now. The Target coupon I printed today actually says Limit one coupon or offer per guest.
