Just a reminder that this *HOT* meal planning offer ends tonight!

If you dread planning your weekly menu or have just run out of new (and healthy) meals, then this is the post for you! Food on the Table is an online budget meal planning service designed to help families eat better and save money. Combining the weekly sales from your local grocery store with your family’s food preferences, Food on the Table creates a family-friendly meal plan based on kid-friendly recipes.

And here’s the best part, they send you to the store with a printable grocery list that can also be viewed on your smartphone (Food on the Table offers a FREE mobile app in the iPhone App Store and Android Market). Love it! 😀

Even sweeter, through tonight only you can use promo code MAYFREE to score their meal planning service FREE for life! WooHoo!

Here’s what you need to do to get started…

* Go here and enter your email address and the promo code MAYFREE
(don’t log in with Facebook, as you won’t be able to apply the promo code)

* Choose your local grocery store from the list provided
* You’ll then be prompted to select your food preferences (pick out your favorite meats, indicate whether you have any food allergies, pick your favorite types of food like Mexican or Italian etc.)

* You’ll then be provided with a list of the items on sale at your local store, then you’ll need to pick what you’re in the mood for. Just browse through all the recommended recipes, pick the ones that sound the most appealing to you and add all of them to your weekly meal plan.

* Once you have decided on all the recipes, you’ll be presented with a grocery list that you can print, email to yourself and/or send to your iPhone! I’m lovin the iPhone option! 🙂

I like this site and plan on adding my own foods and meals to it. I want it to link to myfitnesspal app that I use on my phone. I am watching my weight and these two apps will help a lot. thank you

Hmm, nevermind, I thought by some of the comments we would be able to add recipes and it would sort the ingredients for your list. Oh well, still very cool!

Hi Michelle. I think you can. I am trying to play around with it myself because I already have my favorite recipes. I think if you click the SEE ALL RECIPES in the recipe section, it will let you choose the recipes you added and put them on your list. Correct me if I am wrong. I am still learning too. Might be a real nice planning tool.

I don’t think you can add recipes but you can edit recipes that are provided, I think that’s pretty cool 🙂

On the main page it says CREATE A RECIPE. Right above that it says EXPLORE RECIPES. After you “create” your recipe, go back to the main page and click the “explore” recipes. Then click the little icon that says SEE ALL RECIPES. Then click the big icon that says MY RECIPES. If you chose one of your recipes, it adds the ingredients to your shopping list. Pretty cool. It’s working great for me. It took a while to figure it out though.
