Do you have a vacation planned this summer?! If so, you’ll want to be sure to check out Smart Destination Go Cards as these cards can save you money on some of the nation’s top attractions in select cities across the country. Even better, today only, you can save 20% off one or more Go Cards plus FREE Express Shipping when you enter code FREEEXPRESS (note that the free express shipping code is valid today only until 3PM EST; otherwise, you can enter the code FREEJUNESHIP for free express Ground Shipping).

Here’s how it works:

*Go here and select your destination city. At this time, the available cities are Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Oahu, Orlando, San Diego, and San Francisco.

* You’ll then need to choose between an all-inclusive card or a card that will get you into select attractions only. (In most cases, the all-inclusive card is cheaper, even if you only select a few attractions).

*Click on Buy Now to the right of the screen. Select the number of adult tickets and child tickets you would like as well as the number of days you would like the pass to be good for (choose from 1-7 days) and head to checkout. The 20% off will automatically be shown in your cart.

*Then just pack your bags and be sure to take your cards with you on your vacation! You’ll receive free admission to all participating attractions. If you have selected more than a one day pass, it will become activated the first day you use it and will be valid for the number of days you have selected within a 2 week period. For example, if you purchase a 3 day Go Card and use it for the first time on a Monday, you will be able to use it on any 2 additional days during the following 2 weeks.

To get ya thinkin’, here’s an idea of how you could save on a vacation to the San Diego/LA area with a 3 Day Go Card

The regular price to get in to all of the places listed above would be $250 per adult and $222 per child. With the Smart Destination Go Card, including the 20% off discount, you will pay just $153.60 (a savings of $96.40!) and $124 per child (a savings of $98!). This means a family of 4 consisting of 2 adults and 2 children would save at least $388.80! And if you had more time to squeeze in a few more things, your savings would increase. There are a whopping 49 destinations on the San Diego Go Card (note that some are in the LA area).

Smart Destination’s Risk Free 365 Day Return Policy: If for any reason you don’t get to activate and start using your card (i.e. your vacation gets canceled, you get sick etc.), they will refund the full cost of any unactivated passes bought from SmartDestinations.com for one year from the purchase date. No questions asked; no cancellation fees; and, they don’t charge extra for trip insurance or charge restocking fees. You just call the Customer Satisfaction Team at 800-887-9103 for your choice of refund or replacement passes of equal value in any of their destination cities.

Special Note: There are some restrictions on the card, so please be sure to read through the rules before purchasing. Cards are non-transferable and cannot be re-sold. Some attractions have have a 3 hr. symbol on their page, meaning once you visit the attraction, you have to wait three hours before your card is valid at another attraction that has that same symbol. For example, if you visit the San Diego Zoo at 9am, you won’t be able to get into SeaWorld or LegoLand until noon.

I was looking into a GO Boston card just last week! Thanks so much. I will really check it out now! 🙂

    • Rebeca

My family and I used the Boston card and we had a blast. We really got good value for our money. We visited Six Flags and Sturbridge Village (not in Boston), great attractions with expensive entrance fees. We also used the Trolley, the USS constitution, visited the Aquarium, etc.

        Hi Rebecca,

We are visiting my sister in VT and planning a 48 hour side trip to Boston with our kids (13, 10, 5). If you have time, let me know 3 or 4 things you’d recommend visiting, seeing, doing, eating at. We’re from MN and this will be our first visit to Boston. Any helpful suggestions welcome!

        • Rebeca

Hi mrl. I am not an expert since I live in Western Mass but I can recommend the places we visited. I also suggest you visit tripadvisor.com. We visited with toddlers.

We bought the 3 day so we had a bit more time. We used the Hop-On/Off Beantown Trolley to circle the city. People complain that its not a recommend mean of transportation to “hop on/off” since they dont seem to run as often as other companies, but because we took it once only it was very informative and we rested our feet for a while. It seems they are some great guides but some lousy ones too. We also ate our box lunch there, although there are PLENTY of options we wanted to save time and money.

We visited the Aquarium (nice for kids) and it can be seen in a couple of hours, the Children’s Museum (we were there for hours, but since your kids are older they would want to see only selected rooms), the USS Constitution Cruise by Boston Harbor Cruises (really informative for school-age children). You can take it at the end of the day. Good time to eat and take a break too.

Also the Museum of Science, we were there for a couple of hours. Its nice but not unique.

Now, due to the age of your kids, you shouldnt miss Six Flags, but is NOT in Boston, so you could consider buying the 3 day and leave a day for this place or pack 3-4 Boston attractions in a day and leave a day for SF or if your family is high energy, do Sturbridge and SF in one day since SF has extended hours. You could save money on lodging too since its cheaper to stay in this area than in Boston.

Finally, we also visited Sturbridge Village and we all loved it. Again, great for school-age kids.

I see they also have a couple of attractions we didnt do and they seem like a great value and excellent for older kids. I wouldnt miss the Hi-Speed Catamaran Whale Watch. We went whale watching from Cape Cod once and it was absolutely amazing. Also, Boston TV & Movie Sites Tour by On Location Tours sounds like a lot of fun.

So those are my 2 cents. As I said, I am not Bostonian. Now ask me about Costa Rica and I will show you an expert! 😉

Wow Rebeca. Thanks for such a thoughtful answer. I appreciate it. Great advice!

Chicago! This is awesome! Thank you Collin!!

If you can’t buy today and you have a Costco membership, Costco.com sells these cards at a discount too. The San Diego, Oahu, Orlando, and Los Angeles cards are $154.99, Chicago $110.99, San Francisco $85.99, and Boston $99.99.

    • Megan

In case it is helpful for anyone – Costco.com also has a “3 for 1” card for San Diego that includes unlimited admission to the zoo, safari park, and Sea World and you have 7 days to use it. It’s $99.99 for adults and $84.99 for kids age 3-9.

  4. Lisa

It looks like the 20% is only valid on 3, 5, and 7 days. Can anyone confirm this?

    • JoAnna

You can save 20% for any Boston cards but for the other cities it is only 3, 5 or 7 day cards.

    • Pia

      Hi Lisa,

JoAnna is right. You can save 20% off on our 3,5 and 7 days cards and 20% off on any of our Boston Cards.

Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions!

I was so excited to see that Orlando is included–but nothing for Disney (no surprise there) or even Sea World. Thanks though 🙂

  6. Heather

What’s the age on “child”….some of these cards I’ve seen state that children two and under are free….Thanks! 🙂

    • Pia

      Hi Heather,

The ages for children are 3-12 for our passes.

Those of you that have/use UPromise, you can get 5% cash back!

  8. Lindsay M.

🙁 I just got back from San Diego … wish this deal was last week.

  9. Amber

I have used the Boston and Chicago cards in the past, and we loved them. I would definitely use these again for any trip to one of their destinations!

  10. Kim E

We used these in Boston for our honeymoon and it was awesome! I didn’t feel bad if we didn’t stay somewhere very long, and we definitely got our money’s worth out of them. The 3,5, and 7 had a freebie bonus, too…we took a lunch harbor cruise.

  11. Kim M

We used the GO Chicago Card last summer and had a blast. Things in Chicago were a lot more expensive than we had thought and we were really glad we had the 3 day pass. I’ll say good things about the company as well – we made a mistake with the shipping and the customer service department helped us get the cards in market, right near our hotel – super helpful. We’ll try it again when we go to Boston in August.

  12. April

I checked the Orlando card, on the off chance that it included Universal Studios, but it doesn’t. Does anyone know of any specials going on for Universal? In the past, I’ve seen promotions at restaurants (Wendy’s? Burger King?) offering a discount but don’t know if any are currently going on. Any help is appreciated!

  13. Becky N,

My son used the San Diego go card on his trip last fall, it saved him a lot of money.
