If you have an assortment of prepaid cards with leftover money on them, use them to reload your Amazon Gift Card and combine the smaller amounts into one lump sum to spend all in one place.

To do this, head over to Amazon’s gift card reload page and type in whatever remaining balance you have left on your card in the “$ Other” field. Add the card to your cart and head to checkout, then add that prepaid card as your form of payment. Once the transaction is complete, you can delete that card from your account.

For more instructions, check out our detailed post on how to convert Visa gift cards into Amazon cash.

*Note – the minimum amount to reload is $5

4. Redeem loose change at Coinstar for Amazon gift cards.

Note that there is a minimum redemption amount of $5 and a transaction fee up to 7% when you choose the Amazon Gift Card option!

5. Score an instant gift card upon approval of an Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature card.

If you’re comfortable taking on a new credit card, Amazon is offering Prime Members a $200 Amazon gift card when they’re approved for the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card.

If approved, you’ll receive the gift card instantly, and you’ll be able to earn money back with every purchase. Plus, if you’re a frequent Amazon shopper, those rewards really do add up quickly over time!

Plus, with your new card, you’ll receive 5% back at Amazon, Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and Chase Travel with an eligible Prime membership.  During Prime Days, card holders can even earn 7% back on select items!

You’ll also earn 2% back at participating restaurants, gas stations, and local transit (including rideshare), and 1% back on everything else. Best of all, there’s no annual credit card fee! 🤩

6. Become a member of the Amazon Shopper Panel to score free Amazon cash.

Hip2Save readers and team members absolutely LOVE the Amazon Shopper Panel app (iOS | Android), which is a super easy way to earn rewards and keep them coming month after month. *Note that this is available by invitation only, however, you may be added to a waiting list or find that you’ve already been invited when trying to sign up!

There are 3 ways to use this app to earn credits toward your Amazon gift card balance:

  • Opt into ad verification. This will automatically track the ads you see on Amazon and earn you a couple of dollars each month.
  • Take the available surveys. Your credits will automatically be added to your Amazon Shopper Panel account.
  • Download your receipts for purchases made outside of Amazon. When you upload 10 receipts in one month, you’ll earn $10!

All rewards are credited to your Amazon account within the first 48 hours of each month, so you’ll want to get started NOW in order to receive and use them in time for the Prime Early Access Sale in July.

7. Watch for opportunities to earn FREE credits with an Amazon eGift Card purchase.

Amazon Gift Cards in hand

Before, the last Prime Days, Prime Members could get a $5 Amazon Credit with the purchase of a $50 Amazon eGift Card! This opportunity was available to Members throughout the week leading up to Prime Day.

While we don’t know whether Amazon will offer a similar credit leading up to the next Prime Day event, we’re certainly hopeful! Sign up for Hip2Save’s text alerts to be among the first to know if this sweet opportunity presents itself again this summer.

8. Look for the chance to score a FREE $5 credit when you spend $10 at Amazon Go.

If you have an Amazon Go store near you, then you may get an additional opportunity to earn a $5 credit before Prime Day 2024!

During last year’s July Prime Day sale, Prime Members could earn a $5 Amazon Credit for spending $10 at Amazon Go. We don’t know whether this credit will be available again this year, but we hope it will be offered again!

9. Watch for a potential $12 bonus credit for using Amazon Reload.

amazon gift card by purse

Last year, Prime Members could get a $12 gift card bonus credit for reloading an Amazon e-Gift card with $100+ in a single transaction using Amazon Reload.

This offer was available for first-time users only, and we hope that more new users will be able to score this credit this year too.

We can’t guarantee this offer will be back again this year, but we have our fingers crossed!

I’ve been on the Amazon Shopper panel wait-list for about a year. I spend a lot of money at Amazon not just for my family, but also for my job–so I am not sure what the criteria is to be accepted as a panelist. πŸ€”

    • Angie

I have been on the list since it began. Years? I buy basically daily so I agree, what are they looking for?

Also, Coinstar has a 7% fee to convert to Amazon GC so better GC choices are available with no fee.

      • Jennifer

My Coinstar does not have a fee to convert to Amazon GC. I hope they didnt change it recently.

  2. Varsha darekar

It’s any paid review on Amazon?

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Varsha! If you’re referring to the Amazon Shopper Panel, you would have to make purchases outside of Amazon (10 eligible receipts per month) in order to earn rewards. Once you’ve uploaded those eligible receipts, you’ll have the option to choose from a $10 Amazon Balance reward or $10 charitable donation. You will also receive short surveys about brands or products that may be of interest to you and you can earn rewards for each survey you complete. Hoping this is helpful! ❀️

      • HeatherW1983

I’ve earned over $120 just this year thanks to the shopper panel. It’s so easy to scan in any 10 receipts and check the app every couple of days for surveys (all of which are less than 1 min long and under 5-10 questions!) I average around $12-$16 every single month and it’s automatically added to my Amazon gift card balance without having to do anything extra. ABSOLUTELY THE EASIEST WAY TO EARN FREE AMAZON $.

        • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Sweet! Thanks for sharing all those details! I’m still on the waiting list myself, but it sounds exciting and totally worth it! πŸ₯°

          • Lisa

It’s fun! I’ve been on since Feb of 2021, made $508.75 so far. I usually buy dog treats with my monthly payment.

        • franny5

yes I love it. i feel like it helps pay for Amazon for me

  3. Jeanette---

Put my name on the waitlist for the shopper panel!!! Thanks for these tips!!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

You’re so welcome! Good luck! πŸ€žπŸ’•

  4. Peaches

I love Amazon Shopper Panel. Easy $10+ every month!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      ME TOO! πŸ’žπŸ™Œ

  5. Peaches

I get a prepaid Visa every year as the rebate for my dog’s heartworm/flea treatment pills. $45 is a great rebate but I tended to tuck those cards away and then forget all about them until after they expired in the past. This works out way better.

  6. liltricky00

I’ve been on the shopper panel since beta and love earning credits for normal shopping. I always do my fetch rewards then Amazon shopper panel. It makes it way easier to remember.

    • liltricky00

Over $250 on Amazon rewards so far since I started. When you do your 10 receipts it gives you $10 monthly. Every other day or so there is an additional survey from .10 to 2.50 additional earnings. They also just started ad measurements which give you money additionally when ads are surveyed.

    • Jackie Valyou

      How do I get on

      • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Jackie! You can find the Amazon Shopper Panel app link above. This is available by invitation only, however you may be added to a waiting list or find that you’ve already been invited when trying to sign up!

  7. Amy

I am trying to do the shopper panel app, but it won’t let me log in. Amazon customer service says this is invite only

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Sorry for any confusion, Amy. That does appear to be available through invite only. Be sure to keep checking back as you may find that you’re accepted! Hoping you can sign up soon! 🀞❀️

  8. Debbie

I am on the app. But, so far, I only received the surveys. when I click on “Submit a Receipt”, it says there is a wait list. I have been doing the surveys since February, 2023. How long does it take to be able to submit receipts? I would love the opportunity. Any suggestions?

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Debbie! I can’t remember when I signed up (it’s definitely been a while), but I’m also on the “waitlist” for receipt submission. I believe it’s a popular program, so you might just keep checking back. Hoping you’re able to get through soon! 🀞

  9. Natalie

I was on the wait list forever, and finally was invited to join in Feb 2023, but I am only able to do surveys. Receipt submissions are wait-list for me still. As far as the surveys go, there have only been 3 for me to take so far.
    : /
I think once you are able to submit receipts, it could be worth it.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing how the rewards app is going for you, Natalie. Hoping you’re able to get on the receipt submission option soon! 🀞

  10. Justina

#2 is a Fabulous idea—Thanks! I often lose 25 cents here, 90cents there on those prepaid rebate cards, this is fabulous–thanks!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

You’re welcome, Justina! Glad that tip was helpful for you! πŸ₯°

  11. riss

Amazon shopper panel, survey plus $2 ad verification = at least $12/month. It pays for the prime membership. So easy and convenient.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Yes! It sure is an awesome program! Happy to hear that your rewards help pay for your Prime membership, riss! πŸ™Œ

  12. loren

Getting the $100 bonus for Amazon Visa is not their best deal. Hold out for $200. It comes around a couple times a year. Also, get one for yourself, and then later, your husband/wife can get one as well, with another $200 bonus.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for mentioning that offer, loren. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for this one – hoping it pops up again this year! 🀞❀️

  13. Jsdncr

I don’t understand this auto reload with consolidating various gift cards. Do they have to be Amazon gift cards.

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

No, they do not have to be Amazon gift cards. If you have a Visa gift card with a balance on it, you can add the funds from that card to your Amazon account. This post might be helpful as it has detailed instructions on how to convert those gift cards to Amazon cash! πŸ€—β€οΈ

  14. Tadsmith18

The reload is a $5 minimum unless I’ve done something incorrect. Can you check?

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the heads up on this, Tadsmith18! πŸ€— We’re seeing the same now too! I’ve added a note to the post. πŸ’–

  15. Scott

I’ve scored over $432 with the shopper panel since November 2020

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Sweet! πŸŽ‰ Thanks for sharing the amount you’ve earned with the shopper panel, Scott! πŸ’—

  16. Scott

    Sorry it’s $463.10!

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

      Even better! πŸ™Œβ€οΈ

  17. Kristi

FYI, there IS a fee with the Coinstar method! A transaction fee of “up to 7%” is charged for the Amazon e-gift card option. You could always just roll it up yourself and buy an Amazon gift card at the register to avoid the fees and a trip to the bank.

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! Thanks for letting us know, Kristi! πŸ€— I’ve updated the post! πŸ’—

      • Toni S

There is no additional charge if you take proceeds on a walmart gift card

        • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Good to know this tip! Thanks, Toni! πŸ€—

  18. Andrea Cooper

Thanks for the great tips to get FREE MONEY! β™₯️β™₯️β™₯️

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

      You’re so welcome! πŸ’ž Happy shopping! πŸ›οΈ

  19. Amy

I signed up for the Prime credit card a couple years ago and have not regretted it. Heads-up that the card also has no fees to use it internationally (no foreign transaction fee), which was a surprise to me. I didn’t have another card with that benefit, so it has been a real game changer.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Awesome to hear about the no foreign transaction fee perk, Amy! Thanks for taking a moment to share how well this card has been working out for you throughout the years! ❀️

  20. S.Y

It says if I reside in U.S, I don’t qualify. I downloaded the app from the link provided. Doesn’t give me the option of joining the wait list either.

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Bummer! It seems spots on the Panel are available to a limited number of Amazon customers in the US. You might check back periodically to see if they’ve opened any new spots. πŸ€—

I got the subway video credit offer today. I tried yesterday and nothing came up, but it popped up for me today. Keep checking even if you don’t see it the first time you try. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the tip HIP2SAVE!!!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

YAY! πŸŽ‰ You’re welcome! 🩷 Sure appreciate the heads up on how it worked for you today, Natalie. Thanks a bunch for the update. ❀️
