Happy Friday: Hip Date Night
Sent from reader, Brittany:
The attached picture is evidence of a free date night thanks to tips and tricks I’ve learned from Hip2Save! My husband and I love to have a Friday night Date Night on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, due to a weekend out of town trip, we hit our “eating out” budget early. Still wanting to go out, I got a bit creative.
I had a left over gift card from a MyPoints redemption that had $8.69 left on it. That was my starting point. From there, I remembered I had banked quite a few points in my Viggle app. Since that is an instantaneous gift card, I redeemed those points and printed out another gift card for $15. THEN, using my best Hip2Save thinking cap, I checked Macaroni Grill’s website juuuust in case there was a coupon. Sure enough! If I signed up for emails, they would send me a $5 off coupon! So between my two gift cards from redeeming points and my coupon, we had $28.69. It turned out to be just enough for our delicious dinner when the bill totaled $28.39. Lastly, I rounded out my Hip2Save knowledge by how much to tip from the interactive guide you posted!
Thanks so much for helping me learn how to be creative and still be able to have a fun time! You will never know how much your website has impacted my life. Thank you for all the time you spend and “saving” knowledge you share!
HAPPY FRIDAY! 😀

I love it! “You will never know how much your website has impacted my life…”My sentiments, exactly, Brittany. If Collin earned a dollar for every dollar she helped all of her readers save, she would be a Billionare.
*like!* that’s how you do it! way to go!!
yes, collin thanks so much for all you do!! im so addicted to your site!
I am saving my Viggle points for a Chili gift card now. That is our favorite place to eat!!
collin and crew, you are totally rad!
Do you use Restaurant.com? I wait till their certificates are on sale and buy a bunch to use at a later date. I use them whenever I go anywhere, if they have them for that location. I have saved a lot of money eating out.
If you have a mycokerewards account you can save up your points and cash them in for restaurant.com gift certificated and it didn’t cost ya a thing
That’s usually what I spend my points on too (except when the free 12pk q’s go on sale).
That is so awesome! Collin I love your website!
Good job, Brittany!
Where there’s a will, there’a a way 😉
Awesome! Going tomorrow to see Spiderman and we are a family of five. I got two free tickets from the Spiderman movie post on Amazon.com and two from the codes on Kelloggs cereal boxes. Will be paying for one ticket YAY!
I’m still waiting on my promo code to be emailed to me and it’s already been a couple days. 🙁 Did they send you the code within 48 hours of your purchase as they said? I’m wondering if I should call Amazon Customer Service. Also, was there a promo code in your movie? I hope there’s one in mine! My dh and I have been wanting to go see Spiderman! He’s a big fan! LOL!
My email hasn’t come either and I ordered the same day Collin posted the deal. Thursday Amazon emailed me that my order had shipped, like days and days after I placed the order! Now I guess I’ll get the email eventually. My sons bday is tomorrow and I really wanted those tickets!
how awesome is that!!:)
Awesome and delicious!!!
Aww! Thanks Collin!
Remember to tip before the coupons (off the cost of total cost not the discount)! And if they did a good job, 20% is now the norm.
Yes don’t forget to tip before coupons. Servers work hard, so if service was really good 20%!!!!!
I miss Macaroni Grill. We used to have one close by, but we moved and the closest is almost an hour away now. I hope you enjoyed your date night!
Good job Brittany!
