I did this the last time they offered the magazine and I never got the refund after spending the required amount and sending in my receipt and rebate form. I called customer service and they were nasty about the whole thing and said the best they could do was give me a refund on all the stuff I bought to get the free rebate, but I would have to pay for the shipping back so it wasn’t worth the hassle and expense. I told them I would never shop with them again. They were not “super easy to deal with” and did not care that I would not shop with them any longer. I was very nice to this rep, I did not have an attitude until they refused to work with me on this.
To clarify, the number above is for the magazine clearinghouse, Subco, Inc. They’re the ones that issue magazine rebates, not dermstore.com.

Also, after I made my first purchase I got a “Welcome to dermstore.com” e-mail that contained a $15/$30 code…if you get one of those you could do this deal again when they change it to a new magazine (which seems to happen every week or so) and get another rebate along with the $15.

The magazine offer is a total cheat. I called and they said supplies are limited but I would be eligible and to go ahead with my purchase, which I did and promptly sent in the rebate forms. Never received the rebate so called the magazine offer company again and they said the publisher can decide at any time to pull the offer or limit the amount of rebates available (could just be one!). What a scam and Dermstore obviously know this scam.

I’ve also had problems with the “while supplies last” fine print the last 2 times I ordered from Dermstore. The last time was with an order just a couple weeks ago. Subco just told me that supplies for the 3 magazines I was supposed to get refunded for ran out already, and I wouldn’t be getting a rebate. The weird (read super unethical) thing is, Dermstore is still offering the same 3 magazine promotion on their website TODAY! Needless to say, I’m done with Dermstore.
