in my area this weekend is tax free weekend, i wonder if this will qualify…

    • Jana

In Texas, purses are not tax free and all items that would be tax free must be under $100.00

So, what exactly is the big deal about owning one of these very expensive purses? Just curious.

    • Holly

After coupons and sales they are not VERY EXPENSIVE. They are high quality purses made to last. I have one I’ve had since I was 14 (I’m 23 now) and it looks brand new.

So, what do you define as “not VERY EXPENSIVE”.

        • Holly

Well of course prices will vary from size, style, design just like any other store. But I have scored some cute wristlets, wallets and cross-body handbags for $15-$40 after sale/coupons at Coach. When you take into consideration how well made they are and compare it to a cheaper made bag, you get your moneys worth. Like I said I’ve had my purse for almost 10 years and it looks new (and I use it regularly). Bags I’ve purchased at other stores will rip/tear after maybe 6 months of usage. It’s all about putting some money upfront for the great quality of a Coach item! πŸ™‚

I think the original retail ones are high quality. I dont know about the ones that are made just for outlets and what not. Some people love the style and some people just love carrying that name bc of what it portrays. I dont like them so def wouldnt spend that much money on them. But I would spend a lot on some gorgeous but not very practical shoes ;-). If they like it and can get 30% off, more power to them!

I didn’t realize there were bags made just for outlets! Anyway, I’m not name brand fanatic, but i do like quality. If i find something made well at Kmart, I will love it. To that end, my first Coach bag had me hooked. I’ve had it for 13 years. Still looks great, needs cleaning but that’s about it. I got my second one a few months ago at an outlet, an honestly didn’t notice a change in quality. Both are leather bags; I’ve never owned a cloth one.

When you own one, you’ll hardly every want to carry your regular cheapos again–. They just feel so much better.

I just did a post on the difference between the outlet bags and the “regular” full-price store bags. It seems Coach Factory stores sell bags and items that are made specifically for their factory stores. They are often very similar in style and quality to their full-price bags and items, although there can be differences in hardware or color. Many especially notice the difference in the quality of the zippers. But, you can often find Coach items and bags from their full-price stores in their Factory stores, such as styles from last season. Supposedly you can tell if an item was made specifically for the factory store by the serial number. If it has an “F” in the number it was made for the Factory store and did not come from a full-price store.

          • Holly

That’s weird, I have never heard of that! It makes sense though.

            • Jennifer

Actually, many other factory or outlet stores also do the same thing – you’ll find items there that were made specifically for their factory store or outlet store and sometimes you will also find items from their regular stores that were either last season or overstocked items.

thye were handing these out when we walked into the store at Houston Outlet.

    • Med

I went and tried to use my 30% coupon, but I got up to the check out, she said I couldn’t use it on top of the 30% off sale they were already having:(

      • Christina

Oh darn, I was wondering if you could use it on top of the 30% sale they were having. Guess that answers that question!

Can anybody tell me what the quantity limitations are for the 30% off coupon?
