Calling all you dollar store shoppers… I have some exciting news for ya! Starting this Sunday, 8/26, Dollar Tree has made it official that they will start accepting manufacturer’s coupons! This is great news as all items sold in Dollar Tree stores are priced at just $1, which means you’ll be able to score name brand products at an even greater discount by being able to use coupons! Sweet! ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh my glob this is amazing! I’ve been waiting for this day. I hope it’s company wide and not just in certain areas. I buy so much stuff at dollar tree and am always excited when I see brand name stuff there.

  2. Cheri Sims

    WOW!!!!

  3. Marian

I love Dollar Tree. This is going to be fun! Thanks for the information.

  4. Niki

This is a good thing! You can save a few extra pennies if you have a coupon for a product that DT stocks. I’d shop at DT even without Q’s, though.

  5. Staci Vazquez

    Sweet!

  6. Teri

what great news! I love Dollar Tree….wow! Great news!

  7. Kari

OH my I am soooo excited. I have always wondered when they would start taking these. YIPPIE! made my day. Thanks Collin.

  8. onepoormomma

    Yay!

  9. Mika

I never see name brand products at my dollar tree.

    • Fun 2B Frugal

Every Dollar Tree should have name brand products. If they didn’t before, they will now. This is one of the main reasons that the Dollar Tree Corporation decided to start accepting coupons.

  10. Samantha

    Yay! More free toothpaste!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  11. Tiffany

I am a bit worried about shelf cleaners…there aren’t limitations.

    • irene

DT will learn soon enough. They’ll probably amend the rules as they go.

  12. Mrs Kimberly Walser

COOL … I love the dollar Tree and often think when I’m in there I would love to pair that with a coupon . ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I love Shoes

Thank goodness. Another reason to totally avoid Wal-Mart. Walmart customer service is very poor.

    • Sarah

      AGREED!

    • Deb

There IS no customer service in WM. Who are we kidding?

  14. Julie

So tell me if I’m reading this correctly. Can I go in there with like 10 coupons for the same item. 10 Heftys with 10 coupons?

    • Samantha

I would assume that you still have to follow the ‘rules’ listed on the coupon, so if the coupon limits you to 4 coupons per transaction, then you can only get 4 per transaction.

  15. Destinee

Dollar Tree is my favorite dollar store!!! YAY!!!

  16. nicole

Thanks collin i go to the dollar tree sometimes i will go more often now.

  17. cheap cheap goes the mommy!

  20. Becky

YAY…thanks for the information!!! Collin, is there an actual link to the official coupon policy on DT’s website. I was wanting to get it printed out so I can be ready next week.

  21. Angel

They sell cover girl make up.. sooo free make up!!! This is soooo exciting!!!

  22. michelle

yay I’m so happy! hopefully there isn’t a hassle where the cashier rejects my coupon when it exceed the price of the product. for example if I buy a $.99 item and I use $1 off coupon. hopefully the register automatically adjust. Do they allow overage?

    • Robin

      Isn’t everything $1? lol

    • Sarah

There shouldn’t be a problem with this because all items are $1 rather than $.99.

      • Ashley57

What if you have a $2 coupon and $1 item? I bet that will happen with makeup.

    • debra

Dollar Tree will not redeem coupons for more than the value of the product

      • Ashley57

Did you see that in the coupon policy? It would be helpful to have proof, in case I need it.

        • Tina

Like my Family Dollar store if the item is $1 and u use a $1.00 Q they won’t give it to u ? Is this correct ?

  23. Emily

I was just at the dollar tree yesterday and meant to ask the cashier if they take coupons! I’m SO excited!! I just hope they don’t get rid of some of their name brand stuff b/c too many people are using coupons on those items.

  24. Stormy

So excited!! We are always shopping there – can’t wait to go and test this out next week!!

  25. Sylvia

Hi, where did you get your information from? I would like to confirm this before I take this information to all of my YouTube subscribers. Thank you.

  26. Mark

I spoke to several DollarTree store managers in theLas Vegas, NV area, and called some other dollar tree store managers in other cities, that I go to; as well, and interestingly, as I recall none of them knew of their company accepting any coupons at all starting any time in the future. They all suggested, again as I recall, if I want to use manufacturer coupons I see if Dollar General or Family Dollar stores will; be accepting them.

  27. lindseysgirls

I’m a happy girl. The only potential problem I see is that the size restrictions on the coupons will prevent many of them from being used. Typically the Dollar Tree sells name brand stuff in smaller sizes, right?

    • MommySpendsLess

I was thinking the same thing. They’re usually sized somewhere between a trial/travel size and the smallest size the company normally sells. It will work great when they just say “excludes trial size” but not so well for the “10oz. or larger” type coupons.

  28. Taylor

So.. if we have a coupon for $2 off something and it’s only $1, will they agust it or give us overage?

    • Holly

      No.

  29. Jamie

WOW. I do not really shop at dollar stores that often, but if Indiana stores are included in this, then I will be so happy

    • Kristin Prine

I just called the one in Lafayette, IN and they said yes!!!!

  30. Asimina souders

I just used up my last bags, thank you I can’t wait to go grab some;)

  31. Mrs Kimberly Walser

HEY, Collin Wil You be pairing Coupons for us here Like you do at other stores? Thank for all your hard work ! ๐Ÿ™‚

  32. Angel

They dont give overage.. but i would just suggest getting 2 items.. like the 3/2 covergirl ill just get 3 items since itll be free and they dont give overage..

  33. shanel

    this is exciting!

  34. Chris M.

Yes, size restrictions may limit what coupons can be used. On the other hand, because Dollar Tree offers many name brand products in smaller sizes than you would normally find at other retailers, most of which are still larger than trial size, you may actually be able to use coupons to get much better deals than you would otherwise. The general rule of thumb is to use the highest value coupon on the smallest size allowable to save the most money.

  35. Janel

Oh this is very cool. I will definitely shop there more now!

  36. Agnes

yay, great news….. but knowing my area shelves will be cleaned perfectly! by Monday:)

  37. BamaVicki

I am excited to see this as long as my Dollar Tree folks ‘know’ about it, Lol! May have to print something out for them to actually read if they are not enlightened about it yet. I had thought about this some time ago thinking, you know, they should take manuf. coupons! More fun for everyone if so! Thanks C!

    • Lisa

We know! We have the policy at each register!

  38. shannon

not sure if this will benefit me or not. Don’t shop there that often as I usually do better at TArget, Walmart or CVS.

  39. Angela

I LOVE Dollar Tree, this will be interesting to see how this works! Could I possibly LOVE them anymore?? ๐Ÿ™‚

  40. Pat

Dollar Tree is the only dollar store I shop at, they are organized and clean. Can’t wait!

  41. Crystal

    Yay I am so excited!!!!

  42. Tonya

oh yes!!!! Been waiting for this to come about!! I even shared to my facebook that this in hopefully coming!! YAY!

  43. Shelby

I’m not going to get excited just yet. I’ll see just how coupon friendly they really are. “I’m sorry but the item doesn’t match the picture on the coupon.” “The coupon exceeds the price of the product, sorry again.” That is one of their “rules.” “Coupons cannot be redeemed for more than the purchase of the item specified on the coupon.” Sounds like they won’t even adjust the coupon value down.

    • Steph

I am being leery with this also. I already have problems at Dollar general and Walmart.

  44. kim

This is SUPER EXCITING! I know where I will be Sunday with my coupon book! My Dollar Tree just added a frozen/refrigerated section too.

  45. jamie

YAY!! Dollar Tree is coming to my town in the near future! Can’t wait!

  46. Corey

This is GREAT news! I am constantly in and out of the Dollar Tree for brand name items and now I can get even better deals! THANK YOU!

  47. pamela maciejewski

I just called my dollar tree & they verified that they will be accepting manufacturer coupons but they said it has to be $1 or less value – they will not adjust the coupon down they said so that might make this a little more difficult

  48. angelahoang12

Finally! Now I hope 99 Cent Only stores follow to compete. They sell more name brand grocery items than Dollar Tree in my area.

  49. Amanda S.

pretty stoked about this can’t even tell you how many times i’ve thought if only they’d take coupons. I live in Chico CA and just called our local stores and they confirmed it. So happy ๐Ÿ™‚
