Yay! Head on over to lunch & recess in the Recyclebank EcoAcademy and you can earn 195 new points! To get the points, just find the blue circles with a point value inside them (like below). When you see one, click on it and follow the directions that pop up to earn your points. That’s it!

What is Recyclebank?

If you’re new around here, you are probably wondering what the heck RecycleBank is!? RecycleBank partners with cities and haulers to reward households for recycling; households earn RecycleBank Points that can be used to shop at over 1,500 local and national businesses. Once you have signed up for an account, you can start earning points immediately by clicking on the “Earn Points” tab and taking quizzes. You can then use your points to purchase high value coupons for groceries and/or discounts at online stores. After signing in, click on the “Get Rewards” tab and you’ll be able to start scrolling through the rewards they have available.

I have never joined Recyclebank. Is it worth it do do so? Please share your thoughts.

I think its fun & informative! Basically all you do is different activities to earn points, which you then use to cash out for coupons (some are IPs, some are mailed) or other offers (GCs, magazine subscriptions, online discounts)

        Mel-I totally agree with ya!

I get tons of great coupons. I think it is worth it. Right now they have a $6 off two entrees Olive Garden coupon. That is $2 more than the newspaper and it is only 100 or so points. You could earn that in 5-10 minutes.

I have a grocery store and a local restaurant that each have 5/25 coupons limit 2 per month so for 200 points I save 20.00. In my case it is very worth it.

I’ve gotten some great Kashi Q’s as well as some for Ruby Tuesday’s.

I think I get like ten magazines all free. For me that’s the best way to redeem the points and it takes hardly any time to earn a free magazine subscription.

I think so, i mean i just recently joined but i have learned a ton of great tips on how to be green! Plus the added bonus of earning points towards free stuff is always a plus!

    Thx, Collin! 🙂

I just joined. I went to where Collin said to go, but I don’t see the blue circles. Does anyone have suggestions?

They must be having some issues with the site. I don’t see them either. Just move your cursor around until it changes to a hand.

Kelly, When you first start doing this, the picture is not supposed to be filled in. You should see outlined items and those are the ones you click. I have a completed picture in IE but when I tried on Google Chrome, I got the outlined pics.

  7. Brittany

    Thanks Collin!

Am I the only one who can’t figure out how to get the points? When I click on an item and read/do the task there is a blue earn points at the bottom but it won’t let me select it. What am I doing wrong?
