Wowser! As I mentioned previously, Thred Up, a site that sells gently used clothing, is currently offering up a FREE $10 credit to anyone who signs up through a referral link. Mine is here if you’d like to use it! πŸ™‚

After clicking on this link, then just click on the yellow banner at the top of their site (like the picture above) to sign up for an account and earn your credit. You should then be able to view your account and see that the $10 credit has been applied. Even sweeter, several of you left comments on the previous post about also being able to stack your $10 sign up credit with the promo code AUGUST20 to score an extra 20% off your order (valid for new users only)! Sweet πŸ˜€

AND, your FREE $10 credit CAN be used towards shipping, which starts at $6.95. This means that you can snag a FREE clothing item + FREE shipping… just find an item you like priced a little under $4. This should be super easy since there are a ton of clothing items in this price range. Sort low to high to find them quickly.

Your cart should look something like this…

* Make sure to share you referral link with friends and family through Facebook and Twitter etc. You’ll score a FREE $10 credit when they make their first purchasing using the $10 credit they received by signing up through your referral link. It’s a win win! πŸ˜€

(Thanks for the reminder, Darla, and to all you readers who left comments about the promo code!)

    My referral link please!!

Heads up. Do not sign up yourself then refer your hubby or anyone else at the same address. They will flag your order for fraud protection. It is in their terms of service which i was too excited and skimmed last time this was posted. So send it to grandma, auntie, friends….1 account per household.

Has anyone sent clothing in to thredup? How was your experience? I have sold my son’s outgrown clothing on ebay in ‘lots’ & have done pretty well, but it can be a hassle with shipping, non paying bidders & ebay fees. Just wondering if this would be a better option…

    • Jennifer

I haven’t sold, but looked at their terms and conditions and there is a fair amount of “gotchas”.

It has to be absolutely perfect or they won’t sell it (ie give you money for it).

Has to be 18 months + (no baby clothes).

You get about 1/3 of what they sell it for.

If they don’t sell it, they keep it. You can not get clothes returned for you- whether they don’t sell or if you’re unhappy with their valuation.

      • Chris

If you are interested in what the recent clothes sent in are being bought for, check out our feed: https://www.thredup.com/bags/feed

        Hope everyone enjoys the site.

Hi Jennifer. I have tried both methods and get a lot more money from Ebay. I filled up the bag ThredUp sent with great stuff…Converse shoes, brand new Gap trousers, and many other name brand outfits and was only given $13.00 and had to wait over a month to get my credit. I would have made $100.00 easy on Ebay or $50.00 garage selling. Just my opinion :o)

I signed up through somebody’s link but haven’t gotten any referrals myself, would be so happy if someone would use my link!

Do they sell the boxes of stuff still or is everything now single items?

I ask because when they were doing the boxes they would not let me make anymore purchases UNLESS I sent in my own box of used things. I’m saving everything for baby #2 so I didn’t have anything to send in. So I was pretty much not able to use their site anymore because I wasn’t “Participating”. Anyone know? I’m still upset over this, but willing to give the company one more shot.

    • heather

stop posting ur link using several names- jennie, kathryn, denna, ginger, lisa, michelle. You are one person who is posting the same link using different names. We are not fools.

      • Jennifer

Seriously, someone always has to be greedy don’t they…

      • Cheryl S.

        Good catch! Sheesh, so ridiculous.

  16. jo

$10 credit not working on shipping anymore. It says, “discounts do not apply to shipping costs.” Bummer!

  17. Elizabeth

There’s no yellow banner for me. So no $10 off. πŸ™

  18. Apr

Can you not use the $10 code and the 20% off code anymore not working for me.

  19. Beaux L.

$10 promo doesn’t work for shipping anymore and plus, there is no option to enter the 20% OFF code either πŸ™

  20. Julie

I tried Thred up last year and I am very disappointed in their service. I posted my children’s cloths and they were not up there very long before my post was deleted. I feel like I wasted my time. I haven’t used them since.

  21. Jocelyn

    • Lisa K.

What happened last year? I discovered ThredUp from Collin couple weeks ago so I’m not familiar with this company. And I’m still waiting for the last order to ship. πŸ™

  22. Missy

Yeah, the promo code is no longer covering the shipping costs πŸ™

  23. April

Has anyone received their order? I ordered 8/20 and still have not received mine.

    • Missy

      Nope, never received my order.

      • Sherri

Yes I received my order a couple days ago, and my mom got hers yesterday! I think they were hit with alot more ordered than they were planning for πŸ™‚

  24. sondra

Doesn’t take shipping off anymore. Too much for a used shirt.

  25. Sherri
