WooHoo! Shopkick has released a new version available to download with a brand new look and a few new features! For example, while browsing stores at home, you’ll now unlock extra kicks for the next time you walk in. Also, you’ll now be able to see how many kicks are in an entire mall or shopping area while you’re out and about shopping.
Even sweeter, you can snag a FREE $5 ExtraBucks Reward whenever you browse through the Deals of the Week. To snag your reward, first update or download the Shopkick app on your phone to the new 3.0 version. Then, click on the CVS tab, select the “Deals of the Week” banner and scroll over until you see the $5 ExtraBucks reward (like pictured above) valid on any $5 minimum purchase. This reward should make for some sweet deals and freebies at CVS this week! 😀
Plus, you can now get more kicks with the Buy & Collect feature. You’ll earn 1 kick for each $1 spent at CVS and earn 100 bonus kicks for $20+ spent. How sweet is that!?

I live in the test area when they launched the $5ecb the first time and I remember the email I got from shopkick about it and it said the expiration date was December 31, 2012

Finding the new app to be very user unfriendly. It doesn’t say when the $5 expires. Also – how does it know how much I spend at CVS? I clicked on the info button and there was no info. Ugh. Am I the only one confused?
It is just a free $5 extra bucks reward, click on “use now” when you are in the store and hand phone to the cashier. Your purchase just needs to be more the $5 to use it, not to earn it.
You have to link a visa or mastercard to shopkick in order for it to track your CVS purchases for the extra 1 kick per dollar spent. Go to your account page (person icon) and then click on the kicks bank tab.

Are you close to a CVS? If not, it will pop up when you are closer to one.
How are you able to use the $5 ECB?
Has anyone noticed another thing that changed about Shopkick? I am trying to update it, and it asks for permission to directly call phone numbers without my intervention. What is that about? Now apps want to start calling people from my contact list using my phone number? I don’t know if I should accept it or not. I went to Target and Old Navy yesterday and it wouldn’t even work. I have the same problem every time I walk into stores. Everywhere else my internet works, not when I try to use shopkick though 🙁
Same problem here. The old app did not work hopefully, the new app will work for me.

Is there any way to send the Extra Care Bucks to your Extra Care card? Or print them out?

Usually the shopkick coupons or deals expire 12 hours after you click “use” Hope that helps!
That’s what they used to say but the $5 one said nothing. I already clicked “use” to go back and use it later and now it’s not there WTF?
Me too Ashley. Cudn’t find deals of the week. May be as Amy says it will pop up once u r inside the store.
none of the cvs stores that I went to would allow me to use a mobile coupon they said they needed an actual paper coupon
that means the people in your store were not trained. during the last $5 offer, I didn’t have trouble redeeming it and there were signs on the front doors and windows, and even banners at the end of some aisles informing customers to download the app to get $5. Try looking for those signs, or speak to a manager. They SHOULD know about it… And, the only way to redeem the $5 is on your mobile.
cvs needs to update their coupon policy b/c it says:
CVS/pharmacy does not currently accept coupon bar code images displayed on a Smartphone, iPhone, Droid etc
Lots of cashiers don’t know about all these apps and are just following policy.

oh no, I just updated my app and all my points I all ready have are gone and I’m back to zero again 🙁
You probably just need to sign into your account with facebook. Mine kept all the points when I updated. Make sure you are signed in. If you are, try sending their help desk an email.
It showed 0 for me too, but I needed to log in again. Try that.
now when I try to log in it says “application is not installed to your phone” I have a LG Ally and have been having lots of issues with it, I hope I didn’t just screw everything up.

I can’t find this at ALL. I updated the app, tapped on CVS and all it is giving me is “Shopkick 101” I’ve looked at the other stores and see the weekly deals mentioned, but NOT under CVS. Is anyone else having this problem?

I tried shopkick a long time ago, and it wouldn’t recognize my Target store. Just loaded it again, and it’s not finding a CVS that is right down the street from me. Very confusing. I’m not getting a Deal of the Day offer either. Does it only recognize certain locations?

It is an app you download to your iphone or android phone. When you shop at participating stores you open the app when you enter and you are awarded “kicks” (which are points) just for walking in the door. You can also earn kicks by scanning specific items in the store. You can then use all the points to purchase rewards like Target, Starbucks, Best Buy gift cards and others. There are coupons and special offers that pop up in the app, like the CVS one mentioned in the post. question to Collin, do you use these kind of apps? is it safe enough to just add a credit card number to these kind of apps?
I’ve been using this app for a year and I also use the buy and collect feature. I have not had any issues. When you sign up it takes you to the credit cards secure site and inside the app is will only store your last 4 digits to your card. Hope that helps.
Not working for me either. It shows several stores that have kicks available however CVS doesn’t show any kicks or anything.
Now it’s updated and says you get kicks for scans at Cvs but still no weekly deals to see.

The deals of the week look book disappeared from the app. I have an email it to them to find out the cause. It was there this morning when I contacted Collin about this deal, but now it no longer shows up & the $5 is gone. Maybe check back later 😉

My iPod I think is gen2 and it won’t allow many new App updates. So unfair. I’m not wasteful and I can’t see spending money on a new iPod when this one works fine. So I can’t get the newest target one either bummer but after reading these comments sounds like a headache anyway. Lol. Good luck everyone.

The look book has reappeared, however there is no $5 ECB in it.
I think it just takes a while after you download the app. At first mine showed no kicks for cvs, then one appeared. And now there are 4 and it has only been like 1 hr.
