Well, I took my daughter to this event today. The event coordinator had no idea what was going on. There was no actual scavenger hunt because she didn’t know what the kids where suppose to be looking for. So she just handed out “goody bags” which consisted of a tattoo and an online code. We were dissapointed. 🙁

Are the online codes all the same?

i JUST RETURNED FROM WALMART IN HARKER HEIGHTS TEXAS. I CALLED YESTERDAY TO BE SURE IT WOULD STILL BE GOING ON. THEY DIDNT KNOW A THING YESTERDAY, BUT THE MANAGER ASSURED ME IT WOULD GO ON IF IT WAS ADVERTISED, SO JUST TO COME ON DOWN. I TOOK MY GRANDDAUGHTER TO THIS AND IT WAS A COMPLETE FAIL! tHE PERSON HIRED TO DISTRIBUTE THE PRIZE BAGS DIDNT HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT TO DO BECAUSE THE ITEMS YOU NEEDED TO SEARCH FOR WERE NOT IN STOCK ON THE SHELVES OR BACKROOM, SO YOU HAD NO CHOICE BUT CHEAT AND ASK THE GIRL THE ANSWERS. SHE CALLED HER BOSS WHO KNEW NOTHING MORE EITHER. MY GRANDDAUGHTER WAITED OVER A WEEK TO GO TO THIS EVENT, IT WAS A SURPRISE SHE EARNED FOR HER GOOD BEHAVIOUR IN SCHOOL ALL WEEK. THE GIRL GAVE ME A LITTLE CARD WITH A CODE ON IT TO PUT INTHE WEBSITE FOR A PRIZE. SHE SAID WE WOULD AT THE VERY LEAST BE GETTING COUPONS GOOD FOR DOLLARS OFF THE PRODUCTS ON OUR NEXT VISIT TO WALMART. WE GOT NOTHING. THE CODE DID NOT EVEN GIVE US A THANK YOU FOR WASTING OUR TIME AND DRIVING ALL THE WAY OVER TO WALMART FOR AN EVENT THAT WAS ALL MESSED UP. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH MATTEL OR WALMART AND THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHING TO MAKE UP FOR ALL THE DISAPPOINTED LITTLE GIRLS WHO HAVE NEE LOYAL TO THEIR MONSTER HIGH DOLL PRODUCTS. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD MESS SOMETHING UP THIS BAD? GOOD JOB MATTEL!!!! GOOD JOB WALMART!!!! jUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS, THEY SELL THESE SAME DOLLS AT THE FAMILY DOLLAR STORES IN TOWN HERE AND EVERYWHERE. I THOUGHT YA ALL SHOULD KNOW THEY ARE $5 CHEAPER IN THOSE STORES AND YES THEY ARE THE IDENTICAL REAL TRUE VERSION OF THE MONSTER HIGH DOLLS. THEY JUST CAME IN THIS WEEK!!!!! WHO NEEDS WALMART TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE AND BUY THEM CHEAPER THAN GIVING TO A COMPANY WHO WILL NOT FOLLOW THRU FOR THEIR YOUNGEST GROUP OF FOLLOWERS….OUR LITTLE GIRLS!!!

Kinda disappointing that the times are during the day when my kids are in school.

  3. Laura

Are they suppose to find things?

I called all of the local Wal Marts that were listed as participating and they all said they were NOT participating. The one store mgr suggested I call 1-800-WALMART which I did and the person there had NO idea what I was talking about. At least the local Store Mgrs knew about it, but said they were not selected to participate….strange promotion…..doesnt sound like we missed much here in the St Louis MO area….

I called before we left to make sure ours knew what they were doing. Nope, the workers had no clue as to what I was talking about. Now , I have a whiny 10yr old and one pissed mommy…

They need to learn Communication ….

We went to the one that was listed in our town and they had no idea what we were talking about. My little girl was really disappointed:(.

Our Walmart in Bartlesville Oklahoma was listed to do it today. My grandaughter was so excited and when they got there , they were not doing it. WHY would they post this and not ensure that it was happening? Epic fail Walmart!!!!

I also called the closest listed participating stores in Oregon, and they had no idea what I was talking about. Luckily I called before heading over since it was a little bit of drive – Disappointing because my daughter was really excited to go and do the scavenger hunt.

I didn’t check the updated comments, so we rushed up there today. I get there and nobody knows anything about it. The manager was even so rude in the way she was talking to me. I didn’t get anything just one upset child. 🙁

Ok, so I was doing my shopping and I saw a man standing with all the Monster High things. It was like the sample displays. You get a bag with a tattoo, that’s it.

This was such a bummer. My little girl got all decked out! Totally excited all week. To get there for a booth with some Monster High merch on it.. and a lame goodie bag.. It was truly a waste of time. I have my fingers crossed I win a Monster High prize pack to make it up to my little girl..

I took my daughter who was looking forward to this event ever since she found out about it a few weeks ago. We drove about 10 miles to the closest Walmart near us that was having the event. We also read several reviews of the event before we headed out so we knew what to expect. The Walmart employees at the Customer Service desk had no idea what the event was and that it was going on. When we got to the toy section, there was a booth set up with Monster high toys and merchandise. The person at the booth was knowledgeable about the products and toys and handed out the scavenger hunt. Upon returning the completed form he gave the kids a goody bag with a secret code and tattoos. The kids had fun and loved it. He was even nice enough to give them extra tattoos. I think everyone who went and complained was expecting too much ie. prize packs, secret doll purchases etc. You need to understand that this was an event to promote the Ghouls Rule DVD, not to reward people for being fans of their toys. This is a mass market event, they cannot afford to give away big prize packages. If you want a special doll you need to go to events like SDCC and line up. We were able to find the Walmart exclusive Ghouls Rule Abbey Bominable doll on the shelves and we bought one. Daughter was very happy with the scavenger hunt and new doll!
