Not me again, I don’t know if I did it right. I hope cause this Christmas is gonna be a little tough. But it will be okay, Last Saturday our babies kept screaming for things they wanted on T.V, so we told our 2 oldest (6,3) there are kids like them that won’t get Christmas toys this year. We also tell them that there are kids out there that have no home. no toys. no clothes or mommy’s and daddy’s that love them like we do, so they need to take care of the stuff they do have. Later that night they went to their rooms put all their toys they don’t play with and clothes that don’t fit (our daughter put everything)into a box and came screaming “let’s go help all the kids out!, We can be their Santa”. I burst into tears. So if I don’t win I hope someone that needs it has a great Christmas.
I admire your attitude Christmas seems to get tougher every year for me and my family. I keep telling myself it is temporary and do the best to show my young daughters that I love them very much and focus on what is important to them and spend time with them. Between that and Mrs. Collin’s site and thrift stores I watch like a hawk throughout the year and make sure to get my girls something that will put a smile on their face. For the last two years we have attempted to not spend any money at Christmas. Instead I use the whole year to use rebates, gift cards, the various cash or paypal dollars I get from joining various survey sites. It’s a challenge but it has worked out well the last two years. Sounds like something you and your family would have fun doing too since your kids have such a heart for others too. Start now for next year and have fun with it. When you escape the material side of Christmas it really helps you remember the reason for the season.
Have you read The Christmas Jar? Its about saving change all year and then giving i to someone in need- you could easily do that with rebates, etc
