Was really hoping to win something for my kids. I`m afraid this year they are not going to have any gifts. But I`m glad somebody benefited from Collin`s generosity. Thank you, Collin! And Glory be to God for everything!
I have posted this on a previous giveaway, and wanted to repost. For the many people who are commenting that their children will not have presents, please look into the Toys for Tots in your area. For my area, the qualifications are proof you live in that area, birth certificate and SS# for each child, and proof of one of the following: Medicaid, Medicare, WIC, SSI Disability, State Welfare, Staywell health card, Proof of unemployment, or Section 8 housing, Reduced or Free Lunches. I hope that you win Collin’s giveaway too, but I am guessing the potential for our names to be drawn is no higher than 25% or so, and then you have to see it. I donate to Toys for Tots because I do not want any children to not have a Christmas present. Good luck to you all.

Nice of you, Ashley to give the info. I dont have kids-only nieces and nephews- and even tho i am on disability and struggling, with the help of the savings I get from people like Colin, I am able to give to toys for tots to help people who have children. And in my eyes that is the meaning of christmas….

Rin, you can request a toy for each child on the Toys For Tots website. You may also check with your local churches and see if they have taken up a collecction of gifts. I’ve heard of other non-profits offering gifts as well. I’ve even seen Firehouses offering gifts to families who were struggling to afford gifts for the holidays. You may have some luck calling around. I hope this helps a little. I wish you and your family a Christmas full of love and joy!

Thank you everyone who helped with information! Luckily for my 5 kids they are not spoiled. Every year I purposefully didn`t buy a lot of gifts. Just a couple small ones for each. I tried teaching them that Christmas is about Jesus Christ and is a time to give not to receive. And had them donate some of their toys instead. So we`ll be fine this year. At least we (still) have a house. : )

Oh darn, I am so sorry it is already closed. I hope that one of the other charities works out for you.
also, the school districts, churches and salvation army always help. I was a kid with nothing and the salvation army came every year on the fire truck and delivered a christmas feast, presents for my brothers and I, and enough breakfast and snack type foods for us to survive 2 weeks of christmas break with no school lunches. I now volunteer for an organization that does similar plus more all year long…there are dozens of organizations that can provide you assistance.
Rin, I totally get your feelings… I do my best to keep my kids from THINKING they NEED to have a ton of gifts for Christmas. I have to buy for so many people (ITS STRESSFUL)… BUT with this deal site, I feel I have been so fortunate (THANK GOD). I have been up late at night doing the swagbucks surveys, searching for no reason (to get rewarded), doing polls etc. I have been rewarded with about $30 so far in Amazon.com e gift cards YEA!!!! And with all the other reward sites, WOW, it makes work, but it is SO worth it to be able to get some stuff here and there (and really feel like I’m accomplishing my list) 🙂 I have a huge ways to go, ACK and only a couple of weeks left… BUT I have hope 🙂
Its always hard for me to go to the “toys for tots” or the “Salvation army tree” , I feel like I would rather let the kids that don’t even have anything ever to benefit from it. I just feel so blessed with the little we have than having nothing at all.
I HOPE it all works out for everyone this year!! AND if I had the money, I WOULD give your kids goodies RIN and everyone on here that is struggling!!!!!! 🙂

Thank you everyone for your comments! I feel like it`s Christmas already just reading all your kind words! I have three boys (8, 6 and 3) and two girls (4 and 1 y.o.). Luckily they don`t understand financial struggles so it is a blessing and hopefully we`ll do better next year. I`m glad to get the information though, I don`t feel comfortable sharing our needs because there are a lot people out there looking down on us for having so many kids. Even when we were doing well (financially) I would have people come up and say mean things to me about over populating the planet and stuff like that. My hope though is to raise good kids that would help making this world a better place. I am so very thankful to Collin for this website. Thanks to my couponing and deals searching we have all we need. I even manage to dress the kids like you`d never know we are broke. : ) I wish everyone a Merriest, Happiest and Warmest Christmas!
