Best Buy: *HOT* $50 Off $100 In-Store Purchase Coupon (When You Use Your MasterCard)

Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

UPDATE AGAIN: I have decided to remove the links to this coupon. When I first posted, I assumed this coupon was valid for everyone since it was emailed out to various customers with the same barcode and didn’t state one-time use. However, after reading the comments it sounds like this may not be the case and may be limited to certain stores and/or certain customers. I am very sorry for the confusion on this. I try to only post valid deals, but sometimes I do make mistakes.

UPDATE: You may want to call your local Best Buy store ahead of time to verify that they will honor this coupon. As I said below, it is a valid coupon as it came directly from an email they sent out to customers.

Wow! Calling all you Best Buy shoppers and MasterCard users! You can currently head here to print an in-store coupon valid for a whopping $50 off when you spend $100 in-store! This coupon is valid through 1/27 and there are quite a few exclusions, so make sure to read the fine print. Also, this coupon was sent via email and is legit.

* To qualify for the discount, MasterCard must be used on a purchase of $100 or greater. Coupon excludes the following: Home Theater: Bose® audio products; Polk Audio; Denon; Boston Acoustics; select Samsung home audio, TVs, Blu-ray DVD players; Sony home audio & headphones, TVs & 3D glasses, Blu-ray players, DVD players & set top boxes; Magnolia Products: Samsung TVs and Blu-ray players, Sony TVs, Blu-ray players and projectors, Sharp 90” TVs, Epson projectors, URC, Sennheiser, Sonance, Bowers & Wilkins, MartinLogan, McIntosh, Oppo and SpeakerCraft Audio and special order merchandise; Portable Electronics: Apple® iPods and Bose products; Digital Imaging: Sony camcorders, digital cameras, NEX cameras, DSLR cameras, lenses & flashes; Nikon DSLR & compact system cameras, lenses & flashes & P510; GoPro cameras; Phones: no-contract phones, broadband and airtime cards on all carriers, no contract airtime cards; gaming hardware; Pacific Sales products; Geek Squad®: C.O.D. 1. Kelli

SOOOO…. Now they need to provide a list if what I CAN buy with it.

    • Zee

Hahaha! Exactly, Kelli! I was thinking the same thing, too.

      • Mel

I thought the same thing! Seems like there’s nothing left to buy!

    • Tracy

I was thinking the same exact thing! Sounded great for a minute!

    • Kristen

Amazon gift cards work with the coupon!! 🙂

      • Brandie

You can use Amazon gift cards to pay for your total or you can buy amazon gift cards there… sorry I was a little confused 🙂

  2. Laura Johnson

Do you think tis will come around again? I want to replace my (8 year old) iPod but I don’t have the $$ yet, and now I see Viggle has removed the Best Buy GCs from the list, so I don’t have that available either!

    • Laura Johnson

Oh nevermind, didn’t see Apple products excluded the first time I read the fine print.

  3. Crystal

Anyone have luck using this coupon for buying a gift card?

    • Kathy

I don’t see any restrictions for gift cards… I am curious if it will work for this as well! If anyone goes there today, let us know.

    • Shayla

huh, good point Crystal. It doesn’t say it in the exclusions… =)

    • irene

Good thinking! Although, we tried to buy a iTune gift card the Saturday before christmas and their system was locking up so we had to go next door to Staples. This is a technology store and they don’t have their act together. It won’t be long before chapter 11. This coupon must be a last ditch effort to stay afloat.

      • Joyce

It was the Saturday before Christmas and you don’t understand why their system was locking up? Perhaps their system was busy…

    • Kristen

      Amazon gift card worked! 🙂

      • Kristi

Kristen, does that mean you were able to purchase a gift card with the coupon? Just wanting to clarify and be sure I understand 🙂 Thanks!

      • Heather

Meaning you purchased a $100 amazon gift card for only $50?? If so, I’ll be doing the same!! 🙂

  4. Jennifer Norris

This coupon excludes Apple products, so no Ipod Laura.

    • Janice

Only says it restricts “Apple iPod”… wonder if it works for Apple laptops and desktops!

  5. Beth

Well, I didn’t see anything on there about Wii accessories. LOL! So, I’m thinking this is perfect to use to replace some of our broken remotes. : )

    • Elle

Wii accessories may be considered as “gaming hardware”

  6. Mya

Does this only apply to a MasterCard credit card or would a debit card from my credit union work too since its MasterCard?

    • fran

I think it will work. Most of the time with debit cards, they tell you to enter “credit” anyway, at least that’s what I’ve encountered.

    • Shelbi

I was going to try to use my debit card for my purchase – It doesn’t say either way!

  7. Natasha

Do you think it is good on open box appliances?

  8. jessica

will this work for kindle fires?

    • todd

i was wondering the same thing!

    • Fun 2B Frugal

Tablets are excluded from this promotion 🙁

  9. jean

    No copies!
If its being posted on a forum or blog they will consider it a copy. This will kill the deal within a day and ruin for those who actually recieved the email.

    • Shayla

I was thinking the same thing…how do we get an email with this coupon? Oh well, too many exclusions so like someone else said, they should provide a list of what you can get. Good luck to those who got it, but not sure if would use the one provided here.

    • Elise

I would think that copies means that you can photocopy it, but idk for sure.

      • mel

emailed coupons should not be spread via forums or websites. They are usually directed to certain customers with unique tracking codes. Collin should have just posted to ck your emails for this one. I did get it, but who knows if I’ll even be able to use it if ppl are printing this cpn who actually didn’t received the email.!

  10. Lisa

Well, I read those exclusions 3 times and I do not see where BestBuy Gift Cards are excluded. I wonder if I could buy a $100 Gift Card for $50?

    • Brenda

I would think purchasing a gift card would be excluded under the “no cash value”. Not 100% sure, but that would be my guess!

  11. Joy

I’m thinking printer ink & maybe a Wii game. Woot!

  12. Sarah

I just printed it for a new iPod.

    • Elise

      Apple products excluded.

      • Ashleigh

Apple products are NOT excluded… just Apple iPods

        • Yoko

So, we can buy iPad with the coupon, then.

  13. Dawn

Why not just say “Excludes anything you might actually WANT to buy”? 🙂

    • Tracy

      Haaa haaa!!!

  14. Elise

Has anyone else gotten this to see if the UPC is unique?

    • Cynthia

      400077240772

      • tammie

that is the same one I saw posted on blog so I dont know how they would know if you used more than once

  15. Anny

Games for the kids systems and DVD’s eligible?

  16. Lynne

My husband has been eyeing a Roku for awhile now. I don’t see where that could be excluded, so may have to head out and get one!!!

    • Jennifer

Excludes set top boxes… I was thinking the same

      • Lynne

I read through Facebook comments and someone specificly asked about roku best buy answered saying it will work on roku!!

  17. Jennifer

So movies and video games… And I just did my trade ins yesterday! I have more I could do but really don’t need to spend $50 … But I could get about 4 19.99 blue rays and one 24.99 blue ray with 5 trade ins and pay what, $30 … So tempting.

  18. Gail

there is a whole thread on this on slickdeals. YMMV and i really mean VARY. stores in NYC are claiming it is fake and not allowing it. giftcards appear to only be working via manager override so expect that will be nixed storewide pretty soon if it hasn’t already. 🙁

    • jean

Bestbuy will send out an alert to all the stores soon to void the coupon because it was posted on the internet and is being used by those other then it was designated for.If you want to use it,better go now!

      • Joyce

Or don’t use it if it wasn’t emailed to you.

  19. Abby

Does anyone know if a mophie external battery could be purchased? It is for an apple iphone but I don’t believe it is an apple product?

    • Ashleigh

It doesn’t say apple products are excluded, it says Apple iPods are excluded.

  20. Gail

i’ve seen on another site where giftcards are very YMMV and NYC stores are claiming it is f a k e and not allowing it to be used on anything. 🙁

  21. Kristin

I am wondering if it would work for the Amazon Kindle gift cards? If so, that would be great!

  22. Rame1090

    Will this work for printer?

  23. Nicole

I printed a coupon from retailmenot once and tried to use in Best Buy and was told by the manager it was not valid. I don’t know if it’s legit or not but he did not recognize the coupon and told me it was fake. I was pretty embarrassed. If anybody uses this successfully, please let us know.

  24. sandy

i don’t see where is said all apple products, it said apple ipods and bose products. Wonder if i can use this for ipad

    • jessye

sandy I was thinking the same thing. I only saw Apple ipods.

  25. Pam

Is it one item priced at $100 or above, or is it on the whole order or multiple lower priced items?

    • Yoko

      $50 off $100 purchase.

  26. Molly

I would like to buy a ninja blender, hope it works.

    • Molly

Trying to subscribe to comments 🙂

  27. Luis

Has anyone actually tried using this coupon? Or received this by email?

  28. Abby

I just spoke to the manager at my best buy and he said this is not a valid coupon and not a best buy promotion. You might want to update this post!

    • mel

how is that? I have the email to prove it!! The problem is this coupon spread to ppl who did’t get the email.

      • mel

just put in a call to my local BB and was told this coupon is only for Silver RZ members. if you’re not a Silver member, the coupon will be declined. He’s making ppl show the email at his store for verification.

        • Yoko

I am not a Silver Reward member but got the email from Best Buy with the link to $50 off $100 coupon this morning!

          • mel

I’m only going by what my local manager said. After I called, I ck’d my mom’s email (cuz I know managers say all kinds of stuff!!) and she got the cpn too and she’s not a silver member either. I’m sure he’s just trying to squelch the fire b4 it gets out of hand!

      • Kristi

I took a break from couponing during the holidays because it gets so aggrevating sometimes! Why is it that when an email is sent about coupons it gets spread and then those that receive it can’t use it! I think the company should put something that says “DO NO SPREAD” whatever they feel appropriate. Collin I appreciate the time and effort that you put into this site and helping us save money! I am just getting started back and I am wondering if it is even worth it! This is just frustrating to me…It’s like the CVS deal last night. Why do people take advantage? I know, I know, it is just the way it is! 🙂 Anyway I seen where someone asked after it had been said that the CVS deal was glitch if they could still use their raincheck!!! I mean come on people…I would have loved to get in on the deal, but honestly CVS is AWESOME about giving out ECB’s and I have saved more money using the than any other drug store. Why would you want to still use that raincheck when you KNOW that it was a glitch in the system and they have lost ALOT of money already. I know the manufactuers pay it, but when it is a CVS error they probably eat it, but regardless whoever pays it is having to eat alot of money. This is why it has gotten so hard to coupon! I know my area is probably harder (I have hard the South is harder to coupon in because there are so many of us). Anyway, I just wish people would see the big picture and realize that wwe all make mistakes, Lord know I do all the time! LOL!! Sorry for the vent it just makes me sad to see how selfish some people can be. I also think Best Buy needs to honor this coupon if it means they send out a new coupon to those email folks with an individual code.

        • Conswalla

There’s always going to be selfish, greedy people. There’s nothing a rant is going to do about it. I’m glad you got this off your chest though. Seems like you’ve been holding it in for a while now. ^__^

This Best Buy coupon share is awful for the people who REALLY received the deal directly. Offers such as this shouldn’t be reposted or shared. This is becoming a huge problem. Sad!

          • Kristi

LOL!! I have been! I know there are always going to be greedy, selfish people in the world, but sometimes you just have to vent 🙂 It frustrates me even more because the area I live in has a mom an daughters that go in and clear the shelves and take everything in every store around here and then they set-up in their yard and sale the stuff! I have the hardest time ever getting any of the deals and it just floors me that they get away with this at the stores!

        • Pam

I agree with you and have often taken breaks from couponing for the very same frustrations. People like us return to it though, because we are the honest ones and the world works better with people that’ll speak up like you did! Good for you for saying something.

      • Amanda

When did you get the email? I am a silver reward zone member and did not get an email

        • mel

it came at 2:41 am. Says
Best Buy — Big Savings – TODAY Only – + free shipping.
at the bottom of the email it says Exclusive Mastercard Bonus Offer

          • Kidsallgone

Whoops…got it and deleted it by mistake 🙁 🙁 🙁

          • lisa

Strange. I got the very same email, wording and all, but it did not have the offer on the bottom.

            • mels708

Same here 🙁 I got the email but didn’t have an offer. Now I’m feeling sad!

  29. Abby

Maybe it is a fake best buy email. The manager said they would only promote their best buy card not a mastercard. I’ve gotten fake emails from companies before that looked legit

    • mel

i don’t think its fake. I get offers from BB all the time. It does say in fine print that MC is not the sponsor nor have liability for this promotion.

BB is in trouble, I’m sure they were just trying to get customers in the store.. but it backfired big time with this coupon going viral!

    • Trinity

I called my BB and the person said that this email is legit. “We are promoting that this week.” Yay!!!

      • Janice

Legit coupon in San Diego County, Santee location (I called ahead and made sure it was real) – used it this afternoon and purchased a 3TB external hard drive!!!

  30. Emily

It looks like it’ll work on printer ink!

  31. Rebe

Its OK Collin, we know you had the best intentions and didnt mean to post a Q that is considered fake or that wont be accepted. Thank you for all you do, love your site! 🙂

  32. Abby

I am very thankful for your website because you have saved me tons of money over the last couple of years!

  33. Wendy Pesce

Amazon worked!! Cashier said it was her third coupon today- no override needed!!

  34. dorina

where can i print the coupon

  35. Elaine

Slickdeals had this posted and from my perspective there are quite a few unscrupulous people in that forum that ruin it for honest people.

    • mel

there’s a reason its called “slick” deals LOL!! It was one of the first couponing boards I came across many years ago. I came to realize that the ppl over there were greedy & selfish. I stay away… far far away from that site now.

    • fingers

I’m a SDer and most things don’t become an issue until they are posted on blogs like this. I love H2S, but look at what happened with the Nivea deal yesterday. It wasn ‘t an issue until it hit “mom” blogs.

BTW most of the deals here hit SD first.

  36. Iza

Where can i print the coupon?? Or can someone pls forword this email to me? primrose1321@gmail.com
    Thank you!!

  37. Gail

as info, i got the email. i was a silver rz member but i’m pretty sure it’s expired. anyway, i went to the best buy close to work and here’s how it went after i picked up 2 x $50 amazon kindle gift cards:
first cashier: “oh how are we handling these now?”
second cashier: “the manager authorized one this morning but said we should decline all others.”
me: “I got this in a valid email and there is no mention of gift cards being declined” i show her the email.
first cashier: “well, i will put that in the note here and approve it.”
    She was SO nice.

  38. Gail

also i agree that slickdeals can be a blessing and a curse. there are some people on there who will beat a deal until it’s dead and ruined for all the people who genuinely want to use it one time only.

  39. Sandy

I called Customer Service and they told me the coupon is legit. I took down the name of the Customer Service Rep so the Store Manager could call if needed. Wish me luck!

  40. Meme

I’m a reward zone member and got the email so this is a legit coupon from the company. Anyways, it does not work on Amazon Gift Card or Best Buy gift card at our Nashua, NH store (I sent my husband). He told me almost everyone in line had the coupon so they are honoring it. He’s looking around to see what we can actually buy for our kids with all that exclusions…LOL. Will keep you posted. 🙂

  41. Sarah

It’s legitimate according to Best Buy on Facebook and Twitter. My husband just used it at the Manhattan, KS, store. As long as you’re only using it once and not using it on gift cards, I don’t see the problem.

  42. Nicole

I looked in my archived email & found the email with the offer. Last time I used the coupon I didn’t get it from an email but when I use it this time, I will show the manager my email if there is an issue. Sure wish corporate would inform all of their stores & employees about any offers they put out.

  43. crystal

I recieved the email and went to customer service to make sure the store was going to accept it before wasting my time picking anything out. They were honoring it but customer service said they had a guy come in with 3 coupons and was wanting to do 3 transactions for gift cards! They shot that down but wow! The nerve!

  44. Jordan

I just came back and there was a printout at the register, stating it cannot be used on Gift cards. They said you can use it on anything not on sale, which everything is on sale according to them. 95% of all the signs say sale on them? I don’t think it is worth using unless you really need something and it is not on sale. I was getting a blu ray player for $89 but said I cant use it cause it was originally $99. They are allowing you to use it on any item that doesn’t say sale or “markdown”….

  45. db

I just tried it out here in Northern Cali. It didn’t work on Amazon or Best buy gift cards, but it did work on printer ink. I got a great deal on ink, so thanks for the posting Collin!

  46. Jennifer

My store had received an email stating that the barcode was not working and to adjust price to allow coupon. I was able to get $100 in gift credit about bought a Sony wifi blue ray player for our bedroom for $88 and still have $12 left over. 🙂 super happy. I told the cashier had they not excluded blue ray players that I would have just gotten one there instead, but works out better with no tax 🙂 I was super happy! Thanks Collin. Looks like a good to go deal in my area.

  47. kristina

where can you get the coupon? I have a best buy mastercard but I cant find it anywhere??

  48. Lynne

Anybody know if you could use reward zone ‘money’ to pay as well. I have $30 in rz bucks. Could I potentially only pay $20 for $100 worth??? If anybody has used rz bucks I would appreciate knowing!! Thanks!

  49. Stacy G.

Worked for me in TX. I called the store before I went to make sure. I was able to get a $50 iTunes GC and a $50 Best Buy GC!

  50. Nuno

Hello, I just called my Best Buy in Secaucus NJ and they told me right away there accepting this coupon!
