One of my four dollar generals has these for $1 so good luck finding them! Last time, the cashier said no before she ever scanned it, and when she finally tried…oh my goodness, it scanned!! 🙂

I have the worst time with coupons at Dollar General! I was there yesterday and found a hanging pad of store coupon peelies for $2 off any three items that included the 2 liter coke products the coupons were hanging in front of. The coke 2 liters are on sale this week for 3/$3 making it 3/$1 with the coupon, so I thought I was going to get one heck of a deal. I was so wrong when I got to the register! They would not accept the coupon and told me it was against their coupon policy. Needless to say, I left empty handed.
It is really hard to coupon at dollar general specially if you encounter a manager a cashier that are not coupon friendly or not even know their coupon policy..
I was there the other day to get the poise for a penny and they told me they don’t sell penny items. They won’t even scan it to try if it’s gonna work.
My Dollar General wasnt going to take the coupon for the poise either but I told her well then you need to take it off your website because thats where I printed it from and after another employee came they finally took it but I had to sign the back of the coupons. They said they had to many problems with coupon scammers.
Sounds familiar! Lol but that would’ve been an awesome deal! Walmart has the coupons hanging on 2 liters for $1/2 coca cola products, so if stacked that woulda been free- but my dollar general probabaly wouldn’t have gone for that either 🙁
I wonder if I took the ad and coupons to walmart if they would price match it and accept the coupon. Does Wal-mart still accept competitor coupons?
They accept competitor coupons only if it’s for a specified price and not a $ amount off. I dont think this will work tho because it’s not in the dollar general ad to ad match
I don’t even waste my time any more trying to shop at Dollar General. I have had similar experiences and find it’s just not worth getting upset about so I just avoid the store all together.
My Dollar General is terrible with coupons. Sometimes it is the register (system) doesnt take it and or the cashier doesnt know how to do it. Heaven forbid you get a scan error~ SUPPOSEDLY THEY DONT KNOW THE SCANNING LAW. Corporate office never replied to emails. Very poorly run.
You are so right. I went to Dollar General picked out 3 snuggle (3 50 cent cpns) and 2 coffee mates (had a buy one get one), and several other items, proceeded to the register, and clerk rang items up. I then handed her my four coupons, and you would have thought I handed her a rattlesnake! She said we can’t take these! I said why not? She said this one says redeemable at walmart. I said this is a MANUFACTURER coupon it can be used anywhere. She then said I have to check we probably cant take any of these. She made me wait forever while she ran around the store asking the only other employee, while the line behind me grew long and agitated. Then both came back and said we can’t take any of those. I said you don’t take coupons? She said we dont take THOSE…only ones from coupons.com…I said these are from coupons.com except one! She said they wont scan. I said you haven’t tried to scan them. Just take the items off. Then I had to wait til the other lady could INDIVIDUALLY write each item down that was removed and manually took off each item very slowly and acting like I was trying to steal something! These were not returns, the bill had not been closed out! I WILL NOT PATRONIZE THIS DOLLAR GENERAL AGAIN! They were so rude to me and did not want my business. She suggested I go to Dollar Tree said they take coupons! Hard to believe that a computer system so up to date that they even take PAYPAL can’t even scan a coupon! Fellow couponers, don’t go to Dollar General if you want to be treated right!

Sorry you had a bad experience Amanda i would write corporate.My dg is so coupn friendly i love it.I do have one that is a little unfriendly.The cashier asked her manager if i could yse a 1/1 gain.She said yes i got dish soap for free.Thanks Collin i love dryer sheets.
My DG is horrible w/ coupons too – they will not let me use $1 coupons on $1 items – the cashier said “you can’t get items for free”! I only went maybe 1 time a month but I have stopped going at all.
My CVS has a couple cashiers who say the same this, “you can’t get items for free”. I was using CVS coupons stacked with MQ. I don’t know how many cashiers looked at my coupons one day, They finally let the coupons go thru but it took so much time. Yesterday I was at CVS and had a great experience. I handed her the items and the coupons that made the items free or almost free. She ran them thru no problem. I wanted the great deal on pop so I’m glad I went back to CVS.
