I bought my nephew the cheaper discovery tend/tunnel combo and he loved it. The discovery tent was crap and broke so quickly at the top, it needed something stronger to hold the poles in place. I wish I had spent the extra $20 to get him a better one that will last.
That being said, the tunnel has held up great and he, his sister and the cat all LOVE the tunnel. We even taught our dogs to run through it. After 4 years, it is just now getting to the point where it is breaking enough that we may throw it away soon. We keep it in our basement and our cat is now the only one that plays with it – but he plays with it ALL the time! (The kids are now nearly 11 and 7, so they’re too old for just a random tunnel)
I just got the Discovery tent/tunnel combo for my 13 month old and he loves it. It was 90% off at Kohl’s; for $3.99 I don’t really care if it breaks.

Not sure if this brand is something special, but I bought the tunnel and tent a few months back at Herberger’s (Bergners) for $7.99…. also saw them on clearance at Kohls right after Xmas. So, if your budget doesn’t allow for this, keep looking around on clearance.
