WooHoo! So my Sidekick Mary headed on over to her local Target in Austin, TX this afternoon to test out the new Target Cartwheel In Store Savings Program that I posted about this morning. She was surprised at how easy it was to use in conjunction with manufacturer’s and Target store coupons!

Check out a few items she snagged…

Campbell’s Go Soup $2.49
Minus 15% off Cartwheel savings (will deduct $0.38 each)
Use the $1/1 Campbell’s Go Soup coupon found here
Plus, use the $1/1 Campbell’s Go Soup Target coupon found here (No longer available – Exp. 5/11)
Final cost as low as only $0.11!

Dove chocolate bars 1.44 oz $0.99
Minus 10% off Cartwheel savings (will deduct $0.10 each)
Plus, use the $0.50/2 Dove chocolate bars coupon found here
Final cost $0.64 each!

DiGiorno pizzeria! $5.49
Minus 5% off Cartwheel savings (will deduct $0.28 each)
Use 4 $2/1 DiGiorno pizzeria! coupons found here or on Facebook
Plus, use the $5 off $20 Nestle Purchase Target store coupon found here
Final cost $7.84 for all 4 – just $1.96 per pizza! Wow!

Archer Farms Trail Mix bags on sale $2.99 (regularly
Minus 5% off Cartwheel savings (for some reason, it only deducted $0.12 each!?)

After all was said and done, she spent only $14.47 for all 9 items above (if you still have the Campbell’s Go Soup Target Store coupon, you’ll pay only $13.47!). Sweet!

I am so excited to try this out – will you be adding cartwheel into your mix with the Target match ups? I have found that I’ve had to start making a chart before every shopping trip to Target with apps like Shopkick deals/scans, Ibotta, Endorse, and then my Target coupon/mfg coupon doubles, Target mobile coupons,…now to include Cartwheel. I have fun doing it and I try really hard to organize it in a way that makes it fast/easy at the store (and so that I’m not constantly switching apps) while shopping and at checkout….but, WOW, it’s becoming a full time job! Won’t be easy with my grumbling kids this summer who would rather be at the pool, lol!

  2. Tarri

I am excited about this new discount. So many discounts.

  3. Memoi

How do you get the savings? Do you have to pull up facebook on your phone? I have a junk facebook for all the deals because I don’t like giving permission for them to access my friends (I feel like I should ask my friends first). I don’t like that it shows other people what coupons I add!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes, just pull up the Cartwheel app on your mobile phone and have the cashier scan your phone OR just print the coupons and take them with you to the store!

      • ang

I can’t find the Target cartwheel app on iphone. where is it?

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just pull up your Facebook account and search “Cartwheel” in the search box and you should be able to find it.

      • Memoi

        Cool, thanks!!!

    • Erin

You can change your privacy settings in Facebook to make it private

I tried to add some into my cart but when I click on item it just flips back and forth and no add button pops up?? Any suggestions

    • Allison

I was able to click on the item, it flipped over, and then I clicked “add”. No pop-ups came up.

    • Tracy

I had this same problem. I ended up going in through Google Chrome and was able to get the “add” button to pop up. I think they might be having some issues with some of the later versions of Internet Explorer?

I used the cartwheel savings off of the Mrs. Meyer’s products. The store also had $1 off of the hand soaps. I was able to get 2 hand soaps, dish soap and the all purpose refill. I ended up saving $6.20. I used the print out method but the cashier was wary. She had to call a manager to “check” because they had not seen the program at my store yet.

    • Tarri

I just purchased the hand soap last night with my coupons. Would have been .15 more off. Now if I could find another $1 off MQ for the hand soap to go with my TQ.

  6. Jena

What coupons should be used first?? Target, then Manufacture then cartwheel? or cartwheel first since it is a percentage?>?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Not sure if it matters, but Mary scanned the Cartwheel app coupons first, and all other coupons next.

  7. AJ

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t there a limit of 6 per day on the cartwheel?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yes, you’re right!

    • MelissaB

I thought I read this morning it said 4????

      • Kamaya

Limit of 4 items per coupon

  8. paige

so u just let them scan the cartwheel app on ur phone and it just automatically deducts the % off of the items? pls let me know!

  9. Cherry

If i buy the same items like 2 digiorno…do i have to print the cartwheel coupon twice? I have no data plan in my phone…. Thanks!

    • Elise

No! You only have to print the barcode once, unless you lose it or it becomes un-scanable.

  10. audrea

going to my target 2mro to try it out!

  11. Bianca

I used it today. I also redeemed some shopkick points for Target gift cards. Hubby and I were in dire need of a comforter set. They had some Nate Berkus sets on clearance for 70% off ($29.98). The cartwheel app took off 15% ($5), then I used a total of $9 from shopkick app gift cards making my total $17.69 for a designer comforter set that was originally priced at $99.99!!

    • A.R

what all is included in this particular comforter set?.. thank you

      • Bianca

It was a comforter and 2 king pillow shams. They also had sheet sets on clearance.

  12. lucy

I can’t seem to pull it up on my android phone. is it available for android?

    • kw

      same question here!
I open up my fbk acct & can pick the cartwheel by target & then it says “item not found”… ???
I know we can print the coupons/offers…but the phone scan would be so much nicer & less wasteful!

  13. Maryann

I tried this after the post this morning. It not only worked perfectly but the cashier said I was the first person she knew of to ever use it there. I printed the page to make it easier to match up with my other coupons. I paired it with both Target and manuf coupons. The cashier said I could use all three and then pay with my Red Card.

I like that the receipt listed all the discounts right under the items purchased so it was easy to see they came off.

  14. Elise

So I found out that if you have a coupon that attaches to the item, it will take the coupon off first and then the %age off, even if you scan the cartwheel 1st. (I don’t have a red card so idk how that would work.) So for example, I found a pair of Merona shoes marked $5.08, had the $5 off Target coupon, and the 10% off cartwheel, so I ended up paying $.07 (normally $16.99)!!

  15. mel

Help! What collection is the digiorno under? I can’t find it and I flipped through all the cards!!

    • mel

NM! Found it by using Search. And i unlocked a badge in the process, so I have another spot!

  16. Lisa

Can you please do a new Hip2Save shopping video on Target’s new Cartwheel program? I miss the shopping trip videos!

  17. mel.

Collin, the calculation for the Archer Farms is correct. The % off is calculated -after- any target store coupons. So $5.98 – $1.50=$4.48 x.05 = .22 . Although for the nestle deal, that coupon didn’t group it as a package deal, so advantage: customer!

  18. N Smith

I used it yesterday. It’s easy peasy 🙂 I did not stack coupons. I just used the savings for undies for my girlies! No super savings, but a little of of some basics that I was buying anyways works for me!

  19. leisi

I just bought the iron oven GIADA DE LAURENTIIS 6QT. reg price 79. it prints a catalina for 25% off and there is a cartwheel for 25% off too, it ends tomorroow. i paid 44, plus if you used u red card if 5%off. love it

  20. mel

WOW! Soo smooth & easy. I bought
    2 Digiorno Pizzera @ $5.49 each .. took off .28 each and used 2 $1.50/1 IPs
    1 Edy’s Outshine @ $3.89.. took of .20 and used $1/1 insert
    1 Nestle 8-ct drumsticks @ $5.34 less $1/1 IP
Subtotal was $20.21. Then I handed over the $5/20 Nestle purchase + manuf coupons and the cashier scanned my phone last. Total was $9.45!

  21. esther

Can anyone tell me how to print them? I thought I selected a bunch but nothing showed up in my cartwheel

    • mel

make sure when you flip the card, you click ADD. It will put a small checkmark in the top right corner. To print the list, click My Cartwheel then “redeem in store” (right corner) and print.

  22. esther

I finally got it with Firefox. Does the one barcode work for any item on the cartwheel list that prints?

  23. Lorelei

    Hmm, interesting.

I did most of the deals you listed yesterday. But for me the Archer Farms Trail Mix ended up being $2.00 a bag!

The breakdown on the receipt says:
    Package Subtotal: 5.98
    Target Coupon: -1.50
    Cartwheel: -0.48
Package Total: 4.00 (so $2 each)

Not that I’m complaining! Just curious as to how/why the registers are ringing up the same discount differently. It’ll be good to know when planning future trips using cartwheel so then we can know exactly how much to pay, you know? Hopefully Target will come out with official guidelines and how to use for cartwheel soon.
