Coupons.com Savings Club: Ending July 10th
Calling all members of the Coupons.com Savings Club! As of July 10th, this Savings Club program will be coming to an end! Keep in mind that current members will still have access to log in and clip the Savings Club coupons (through July 10th), but if you are currently paying for a subscription, billings will stop effective immediately .
Coupons.com Savings Club Update:
*After July 10, 2013, premium Savings Club coupons will no longer be available when you log in to Coupons.com.
*Starting now and through July 10, 2013 (more than a month), you will continue to have access when logged in to clip and print premium Savings Club coupons.
*Effective immediately, they are halting any and all billings, so you won’t be charged again. You will be receiving a separate email notice from either TrialPay or Recurly (the payment processors) stating that your subscription with them has been canceled – but you will still be able to get premium Savings Club coupons through July 10, 2013.
*For annual subscribers, you will be refunded within 1 week the pro rata, remaining portion of your last payment as of May 30, 2013. For example, if there are 6 of 12 months left on your subscription (half) as of today, they’ll be crediting your credit card with half of your $30 subscription fee.
If you had a membership to the Savings Club, did you use it and will you miss it?
(Thanks, Shaun and John!)
I had a free subscription (I think?) and I never used it. In fact it’s on my to do list to cancel. Another thing I don’t have to deal with 🙂
I had a subscription and I never ever used it. Glad I don’t have to worry about canceling now.
boo i liked the higher value wonder y they r doin that
I had the annual membership but I joined when it was free. I will miss the higher value coupons they offered.
And like the others, I am glad I don’t have to worry about remembering to cancel it.
I heard it was costing them more to administer the program than they were getting out of it. I guess people aren’t ready to “pay” for coupons yet. Honestly, I am THRILLED this program failed. I was always afraid if it did well that the Coupons.com and RedPlum and SmartSource printables may all go the direction of “pay to print”. This news is really good for those of us at home!
Well said. I agree with you and I’m glad it’s gone too.
so true…paying for coupons is senseless for me….would rather shop at Aldi’s…!
My sentiments exactly!
Same thoughts here! I will not pay for coupons. I had a free one year membership. Never remembered to use it, and when I did, the others weren’t great. I looked today, 29/287 are savings club, and only 4 potentially interest me and I’m likely to only use 1. I’d never be able to recoup $3 a month with a poor choice offers like that.
Ditto!!!
I also had a free subscription for a year.
I rarely found anything that I could use.
Not that surprised that it’s ending.
I agree! There were few coupons that I used and those I did were only $.50 better than those available elsewhere. I didn’t feel it was very exclusive and would have never paid for a subscription (mine was free).
🙁 I joined when it was free but I totally would have re-subscribed! I loved the higher value coupons!!
Only used when had free subscription but not enough to pay for it when it expired.
I’m glad that it ended. Just cancelled my subscription a couple of weeks ago after I discovered that I was being charged $3 per month after the free year.
One less thing to deal with.
I got it when it was free and forgot to unsubscribe . I had used a bank account that I hardly use . They charged me three dollars a month for three months before I caught it . That nine dollars they got out of me is way more than I ever saved using the program
that was their strategy…
I rarely found coupons for things I wanted in the “pay” section–they may have been higher value, but they were often for very specific or obscure products. I have been trying to find out how to cancel. Saves me the issue!
You can easily cancel by going to the website’s contact page and selecting unsubscribe. They emailed me by the next day to confirm that i was unsubscribed.

Instead of an automated system, there HAD to be a human on the other side. They did NOT cancel my additional month after the free year and I was charged for that wasteful month. There were a couple good coupons, but the entire first year was useless. Some of the “paid” coupon deals were actually links to other sites for their products FREE coupons. Awful program that I’m ecstatic has failed miserably.
Uaed it sometimes, liked knowing it was there though. Yes im gonna miss it.
I only had the program on the free trial. I rarely used the coupons on it. I am kinda glad it’s going away, I don’t like the idea of having to pay for higher value prints
I, too, became a Savings Club member when it was offered for free. It wasn’t something I would have paid for – there simply wasn’t enough $$ saved on things I buy. One thing I did appreciate were the relatively frequent high value canned dog food coupons. I will miss those…
I agree with others comments. Not ready to pay for the small savings on things I needed. Nice to have some higher value coupons, though.
I had a 1-year free subscription – I kept track of the members only coupons I used and noted any added value (usually it was a coupon that was already offered, say $1 for members while non-members got $.75) and reviewed that once my free membership was up. I found that it was not worth paying for, so I cancelled it. I think it was a great idea potentially could have been beneficial to some, unfortunately the coupons offered were not for products I used, so it just didn’t work well for me.
I actually just cancelled my subscription last month, I was finding the member coupons weren’t really that much better and I was hardly ever using any to make it worth the fee. It used to be a lot better but the past few months it was always the same coupons for things I never buy.
I signed up for the free year but they tried to make me pay after one month. Thank goodness I used a prepaid card. Not sure how you guys got a totally free year. It didn’t work for me.
I got a free year and then was able to cancel without any problems. But it definitely would not have been worthwhile for me to pay for this service. I used very few of the coupons.
I joined when it was free. I’m actually glad to hear this, because my trial ended two months ago. I forgot to cancel and have been charged $3/mo. since then. I’ve been meaning to call – such a non-frugal thing to do, I know – but now I don’t have to!
I use it, and it was worth it to me, but I live in an area with grocers who double coupons. So an 85 cent coupon over a 50 cent non-savings club coupon was a noticeable thing for me. It would not be worth it otherwise.
Now, you know, I would pay $5 a month for something like ‘You can print 5 extra coupons a week (ie, if something has a print cap of 2, let me print 3 of the general stuff). I know they can’t and shouldn’t do that with the bricks, but that would be worth it to me for the main site.
I just joined on May 17th. I was a little disappointed to have it discontinued less than two weeks later. I did print several coupons, and will until it’s concluded. I also gave my sister my login information so she can use it, too.
Glad there Going away. I had a Free Month and forgot to cancel so I got stuck for $30.00 Yearly Membership which I canceled (no refund) so hopefully they will pro-rate the the remaining time and give me some of my money back now . (I was paid until April 04, 2014).
