I bought this last time Collin posted this (quite awhile ago) but I have never been able to get it to work. it is pretty and shiny but it takes up a lot of space in my cabinet. I am going to sell it at my next tag sale. There has to be better ones out there.

When I look at this thing I’m thinking why would I want to take all that time to insert it in the gadget, secure it to the counter and turn, turn, turn-when I can jsut grab a knife and make QUICK work of peeling the apple? LOL

      Agreed!

It is wonderful for making things that require peeling large quantities of apples. It keeps your hand from cramping!

I agree with you to some extent, BUT if you have ever made your own apple sauce, you would never go with out one. We make our own applesauce and apple pie filling once a year. We’re talking several bushels of apples 🙂

I use it every day to take an apple to work with no core. I do home health so it makes it easier to eat in the car. I have a different brand but I love mine. It’s so fast and easy–so much easier than using a knife and no mess to clean up. You have the option to peel and slice or just slice.

My toddler loves the way the slices come out. So sometimes I do it by hand with a small knife and cut the apple into sticks after and sometimes I use this for the slices. It’s also great for doing a bag of apples at once if you make apple sauce or apple butter. You can also take the slices, sprinkle with some cinnamon and pop them into the oven to make some apple crisps. Easy healthy snack! 🙂

I have one, not this brand though, and I love it. Of course I can apple pie filling, applesauce, and apple butter each fall so I buy apples by the bushel at our local orchard. I highly recommend this if you work with large quantities of apples. It’s a real time saver!

That is why I bought one—different brand. Our children loved that they could help with the process of canning/freezing food they would get to eat in the winter.

I bought one just like this at Fleet Farm last year – normal price there was $14.99 – just in case anyone misses this deal and has a local Fleet Farm.

You can buy this at Bed Bath & Beyond (probably a different brand). If you have one of their $5 off coupons, then it’s a good deal to get it there!

I have one and love mine. It makes quick work of peeling, coring and slicing apples if you have a ton to work with.

I bought one of these at Bed, Bath & Beyond and LOVE IT! It works like a charm with minimal to no effort and now I am able to make Apple Crisp frequently during the fall/winter!

Apple season is just around the corner and I have this exact peeler and love it! Last year my 3 year old was able to peel most of the 20 lbs of apples we had by himself and he loved watching them come out all swirley ;o) also makes a fun way to serve apples in a lunch box, apple slinky is what we call it :o) for sure worth 13 bucks in my opinion!

Broke my thumb recently and tried to peel a couple of potatoes a couple of weeks later. Got it done, but was agonizing while peeling. Thought there has to be a better way. Voila! Collin, once again to the rescue of arthritis and broken bones. You and these comments, rock!!!

I have the pampered chef one. It’s great for apples when you’re making pies.

    • Jenny

I have both of these (MIL bought me the pamper chef one without knowing I had this little red one) and I love the pamper chef one the best. It stays in place extremely well making it so much easier. My red one doesn’t really get a good suction on our counter top at all and I have to wrestle it down when I turn it. LOL!

I have one of these at home, and I love it!!! …and so do the kids 😉
