Brandy, I too wanted to take advantage of the Kindle offer so I took your advice and called Amazon customer service. After being transferred around for 45 minutes, I was told they could not find such an offer as the $144.00 one. They had one on their website with the identical articles but for $199.00. They said they couldn’t even see the offers on any of their screens. Finally after the fifth person I spoke to, she said she could send me a link that would notify me by email whenever the kindle offer came back. Something tells me I’m not going to ever get this offer through the current one (through August 25). Good luck to anyone trying.
I just called Amazon. After I explained the deal indicated it was good until August 25th, the customer service representative researched and found the special offer for the $144. He told me the deal was unfortunately sold out, but they expected more by the end of the week. He emailed me a link and said I could keep checking. He also noted my account and said if for some reason I could not get the price later this week, any of his colleagues would be able to manually apply the promotions for me. He apologized several times that the deal was sold out. I absolutely love Amazon’s customer service. Here is the link in case anyone wants it.

When I called they basically called me a liar and suggested that anyone I knew who got the $144 deal must have cheated the system. Not impressed with their customer service at all!
I spent hours on the phone being transferred around between Amazon local and Amazon.com. Never knew there were two such entities. Just got sorries but “NO”. I’ve been a Premier Customer forever and have always been treated fairly before, but not this time. Time to rethink Amazon I suppose.
Amanda, I too was speculated to be lying as was Hip2Save who they said may be posting things they should not have. I ask them why then does the link on Hip2Save send me directly to Amazon’s site with the offer”. This was after approximately seven other Amazon customer service representatives told me they could not find the offer. The last one I spoke to however “did” find it.
For anyone who was skeptical of this deal! I received mine today!

Becky, did you get it for $199 or $144? I can only get the $199 price.
Yeah, $199 is definitely not the deal they were running before. I wondered if it was because they did the “bundle” (Kindle + case in one click) because it’s not giving me the Amazon Local discount at checkout. Plus $159 +$29.99 (the price of the case nonbundled) does not equal the $199 price they are charging. I’m pretty disappointed because this is not a great deal anymore 🙁
After talking to customer service for about 45 minutes.. They finally applied all the promotions and my grand total came out to be $154.81. It’s not $144.00 but it’s better than the original $200+ that they were going to charge me.
