What Happened to My Hair & Hello Family from Texas
My low this week may seem a bit silly as it is simply the fact that I chopped off my hair earlier this week. And if you’re a woman who has ever cut off a significant amount of hair, you can likely relate to that feeling of “Oh my gosh – Why did I chop off my hair?!” that you almost always experience a few minutes after leaving the salon. However, I am happy to report that I am starting to like this short cut of mine much more than I did at first – one plus is that it is super easy to style. 🙂
My high this week was spending lots of quality time with my husband’s family from Amarillo, Texas. They drove all the way to Idaho with their 2-year old son and spent the last 5 days with us. We had so much fun showing them around Boise- taking them swimming and hiking, playing cards, telling stories, and just hanging out. Shhh – we are secretly hoping that they will move here permanently so we did our best to make them fall in love with Boise (which isn’t hard to do!).

I don’t see short hair – I just see a gorgeous face, great eyes and a sweet looking person. Sometimes we have to step back because we don’t see what others do. 🙂

Oh, Colin, your hair is absolutely gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing a pic with us!! Last summer, I realized I hadn’t cut my hair since my second daughter’s birth (which was five years ago at that time), so it was time for a change. I cut 20 inches off and walked out feeling SO MUCH better! LOL – Plus, I donated to Locks of Love, so I felt even better about doing it. I love short dos, especially since we live in Florida. 🙂

I share your low!, but haven’t adjusted to mine yet:( Mine was longer and I asked if they could put LAYERS in so I would be cooler (because we too are in TEXAS!) Apparently they don’t know what layers are here and I now have ONE INCH hair at my neck line!!!!! Way too short. AND she gave me those longer in the front sides which look great one others but not on me! Needless to say the first thing I did when I got home was to cut those buggers off. But enough of my very bad low:) Yours looks great on you!! Glad you are liking it:)

My low was losing my great aunt. She was born with a mental & physical disablities. They said she would only live to the age of 30. She passed away Saturday at the age of 63.
My high this week has been getting to spend time with a cousin I was very close to growing up. As we became adults and our priorities took control we lost out on spending time one on one. But I loved catching up this week and making plans to hang out again soon!
I am sorry to hear about your loss, but am glad that you got to spend quality time with your cousin. It sounds like you both had a great time catching up!
My high from last wed. to this wed. Would also be getting to spend time with my family on a well deserved over night trip to the mtns.
My LOW would have to be sitting down, starting the paperwork, making lists and filling out my calendar for my girls to start school in a few weeks and my duties on the PA. So now I’m sad and feeling rushed because the end of summer can be seen, and I do cherish my time with my two girls.

My low happen today. Had to go to the hospital late last night because of severe stomach pains. Now have to wait til tomorrow to find out if my gall bladder has to be taken out. Then, this afternoon got a flat tire (Warning: watch out for curbs) and since I don’t have any roadside assistance had to find someone to put on the spare (Thank you, Mr. Army Man). And then had to get a new tire.
My high is the sweet, caring things my 2 year old does like wiping mommy’s nose and tears while shes curl up in pain and talking on the phone to daddy about mommy being sick.
P.S. I would love if you could ask your readers about ways to save money on Roadside assistance or getting new tires at the last minute.
Check with your car insurance company. I pay an additional $4/year for road side assistance through my insurer.
roadside assistance is actually very inexpensive…less than 5 a month through my insurance and a few dollars a month at aaa for certain plans as well. New tires are spendy, but I always buy them at a place with an amazing warranty like les schwab, i’d rather pay a bi t more and have them repaired for free forever, and they are very nice and always fix my flats quickly….last week I couldn’t get the lug nuts off and they drove to my house with a mobile air compressor so I could follow him down to the store
colin, you’re a very pretty lady and you can get away with it but i’m not a fan of short hair on ANY girl. yes a low. short hair is for men only in my opnion. not feminine and can look gay. nothing wrong with looking gay or gay people, i’m just a fan of feminine looks.

This is ridiculous. There is no one “gay look”. Gay women, just like straight women, can rock any type of hair they have the confidence to go for. There are plenty of gay women who rock long hair & just as many straight women who rock short hair. And believe me, they are still feminine with their short hair & men love it.
Yes I have had that moment. I am one of those people where longer hair fits my personality. If that makes sense?. Still growing it out. But after a while you learn to work with it. You hair looks great though.

I love the new haircut! Have you enjoyed the Human Rights memorial in Boise yet? We travel through Boise once or twice a year and I always love to stop there, wander around, then walk across the old bridge to Boise State campus and walk beside the river.

I did the same thing this summer. After having shoulder-length hair or longer for my whole life, I had surgery this May and was unable to bathe in a shower or bath for at least two weeks. I cut all of my hair off to make it easier on me and I now vacillate between “Why did I do that?” and “Hey, this is kind of cute.” Yours is definitely super cute!
It looks really good I wish I could pull off short hair, after I had my daughter last year I decided to get 10 inches cut off and regretted it immediately after, a week later I cut it even shorter because my daughter was still able to grab handfuls lol. I did get to donate the 10 inches to locks of love though and I don’t miss all the tangles and getting my hair stuck in windows, doors, snatching my earrings out with it lol. So much easier to manage too!
You are beautiful inside and out and ur husband and children know it or should ! Being an animal lover I thank you from the animal community for adopting a shelter dog and ESP a black one. I’ve been told black dogs get much less adopted than light colors. Love u and love ur website ! God bless you

I like the color and shine, but not so much the hair cut. I’m a fan of your bob when it barely hits your shoulders and gives you the neck area for the scarf. This is a bit wild for you! ;D (Been following the site for a while) It reminds me of Hannah Montana cutting her hair. Good thing hair grows and I think we all have cut issue or regrets especially when it’s hard to style it as the salon does. Nevertheless love your site!
My low: I tried to help an old man today. He was driving very slow and I stopped next to him and he was lost. I think he had Alzheimer’s. He couldn’t remember where he was going or where he was at. I tried to listen and guide him and help him mentioning spots nearby like the pharmacy, grocery and church and he gave up and said thank you and drove off. I felt sad and helpless! 🙁
My high: My little girl is enrolled in 3 year old prek for two days a week. It will be an effort for us as a family but worth it for her. I love her and I think come Wednesday I will cry when I drop her off. :'(

Low- my 7 month old hates her crib and won’t sleep. It’s exhausting for both of us!
