Those $1.25 fleece throws are a wonderful item to donate to pet shelters.

    • Em

      Yes!!! Thank you

    • stacy g

or people shelters would love those blankets, too.

      • Em

They aren’t very warm- I donate good blankets to people.

    • Melanie

I was just thinking the same thing, Pamela. Hoping I can buy 10 tomorrow to donate to the local kill shelter.

      • Melanie

Oh silly me.. now i get it. It’s tonight only. That’s why its double dipping. Been a long day 🙂

  2. abigail

how do I know which stores do this??

    • Dan

go and try at the store

  3. Kavita

    Thank you!

  4. Mark

If you look at the sales listed above, the sales are not for the same weeks, one week starts 9/22 and ends 9/28 the next sale starts 9/29 and ends 10/5. I spoke to two different Walgreens managers who both said they both couldn’t honor the sale prices listed on this website section as they are for different weeks. One manager even said, as I recall, they were going to contact the Today show administration to inquire why the show endorses any website that gives the public inaccurate sale information.

    • Holly

That’s why it’s called “Double Deals”. Wags who activate next weeks sales early on Saturdays (I’ve seen this with 24hours stores), would work with this weeks current sales. The only way to find out the deal would work for you is to purchase the items (the screen will reflect both sales).

      • Holly

That’s why it’s called “Double Deals”… or “Double Dip”

    • Yesenia

      well that escalated quickly

    • Livvy

Posting these kinds of deals is the equivalent of encouraging people to use coupons incorrectly – just like when a coupon scans for items they weren’t intended for. I love Hip2Save, but think this type of post isn’t entirely on the up and up.

      • Dan

and you drive in the fast lane slower than the pposted speed limit to encougage others to follow your guidance of “its the SPEEED LIMIT aka the MAXIMUM”

      • Dan

Leave the preaching to a theologian

      • Melissa

Walgreens knows exactly what they’re doing. They’ve been doing this overlapping for months, it’s another way to draw in customers. If they felt it was “wrong” or “fraudulent”, they’d correct it ASAP.

        • Dan

          years

        • Candace

I completely agree with you. If it was an error it would have ready been corrected.

      • mel

I don’t think its wrong, its just the way their registers are set up. I came across it over the summer when I stopped in last minute to buy chips. They were bogo one wk and $1.99 the next (or the other way around) Even the cashier was surprised it gave both deals. If it were an issue, Walgreens can just as easily stop the double dips like CVS. They activate their sales on Sat, the register picks the better of the 2 weekly ads.

      • jen

Livvy, the way I think about it is walgreens chooses to activate both weeks sales, they choose to honor both weekly sales. It’s their own doing. I didn’t see Colin or any hip blogger at my walgreens forcing them to honor the prices LOL. Colin tells us about great deals, that’s all she’s doing here.

      • starkissed01

There is nothing wrong or unethical about the system giving both weeks deals on Saturday evening. If you personally feel uneasy about it, don’t participate. Collin is just reporting the sale, not giving illegal or unethical information. Walgreens in my area actually encourages the “double dip” on Saturday evenings.

      • wheresthedeal

My store tells ME when the sales have been turned on! They do this because they have to start putting tags up for the next week’s sales on Saturday in order to get them all done. Once the tag is up they have to honor it – and they also have to honor the previous week – the flyer is out and those sales go through that day. It’s much easier to have the registers handle it than over-riding the prices. I see NO problem whatsoever about people sharing these deals!

    • Dan

are you new to getting sale deals or you just like paying full price, cuz I am sure its one or the other

    • Dan

the accuracy information is not always perfect but i believe colin spells it out in pretty plain english, it might work in your area OR it might not, a for talking to the manager IT may or may not work for you

      • tilla ham

I highly doubt any manager at walgreens gives two pieces of poo enough to call the today show or would say so…

    • wheresthedeal

Oh – your managers don’t have to ‘honor them both’. Once the new week has been turned on the registers do it all for them – no need to show anyone anything – just do the deal!

  5. Holly

Can anyone else confirm the Listerine DD? Unfortunately a 24hr Wags isn’t close by, also hope there would be decent stock.

  6. anne

how do i find out if my walgreens does that?

    • Dan

      go the store and try

    • wheresthedeal

I always have a cashier check price on some item that is going to be on sale for the next week – doesn’t have to be a double-dip deal – just anything that was regular price the current week and on sale the new week. If it comes up at the sale price you are good to go. My stores turn the new week on in the morning on Saturday. We have small stores and it takes them all day and into Sunday to get tags up.

  7. Tina

Mark, it should be up to Walgreens to fix the system if they do not want double dips to work. Hip2save is NOT doing anything wrong. She does fantastic things for people!!!!!!!

  8. Dan

Calling all of you Walgreens shoppers! (if you shop at walgreens you maybe interested in this)!
You may be able to head there tonight (before midnight) to once again double dip on the sales available this week and next week. (some store start sunday sales early like on sunday)
You see, select Walgreens locations actually have the sales for the upcoming week start ringing up at the sale price Saturday. (saturday is like early and the previous sunday thru this saturday sales are still in effect)
Now the time on Saturday may vary… so if your store does in fact have the sales for next week already in effect, you can score the following deals (through midnight only!): ( so this may not work at your location but you can give it a whirl and try to save extra dough they won’t keep saturdays deals into sunday because those are automatically bumped out of the systems nationwide)

  9. brandice

I’m in Decatur,Ga and when Collin posted a double dip for Always pads a few weeks back it worked!!! Its not a 24 hr store…I went abt 915 pm and worked like a charm!!! Yay for cheap pads

  10. santhi

Listerine deal didnt work for me the selected 1 liter for 3.99 are different from $2 off ones.so i ended up paying $2.50 with the coupon 🙁

  11. Jenn

IF they were worried about someone double dipping, I would think the marketing department would make sure that the exact merchandise is NOT on sale two weeks in a role. Pretty easy, IMO, to fix, if the wanted to. It’s MARKETING! They very easily could make the sales not be generated until 12:01.

  12. Victoria

Another double? Today I got 6 Lady Mitchum Clinical Strengths for FREE, but I don’t know why.

I bought 6 deodorants at one time ($11.94), and used 6 $1/1 Mitchum coupons (then it was $5.94) and received 6,000 points, making all 6 free!. On the receipt, it said “Rewards Bonus Earned 3,000” twice, so it must be 2 deals. I know this week it said 1,000 pts. wyb 2, but where did the other 3,000 come from? It doesn’t appear to be on sale (that I could find) next week.

Also bought 2 Iced Coffee Starbucks drinks. They rang up 2/$3 and I used 2 $1/1 printables. I paid $1 and received 1,000 points. Two bottles for free! I love surprises like that!

    • Lynn

Tried it, Victoria. Worked for me, too—6 deodorants for free! 🙂

    • Mrs. Waller

I noticed that earlier today! I got 4 and received 4, 000 points! Such a nice surprise!

  13. Samantha

Listerine deal will not work, the ones for $2 off are not on the ones marked $3.99 I even price checked the $2 off ones they ring up 6.79 and 4.79 after coupon

  14. ihearthip

Oh no! I have an addiction to buying fleece throws lol Not sure if I can restrain…they just make great gifts!

  15. Joanna

Thanks! I’ll use the fleece throws as batting for some projects I have 🙂

  16. liz anu

    Listerine not working. 7pm

  17. Corinne Char

Working well at a 24 hour store in St Louis. Got a bunch of fleece throws for my classroom reading nook.

  18. Mark

I agree that Colin is doing many people a big favor, with her column, and has saved me a senior citizen a lot of money, my comments were those as I wrote of managers of two Walgreens Managers, not mine.
I’ve learned that companies such as Walgreens don’t stay in business because of giving cheap prices or allowing double dipping, (combining two week sales). Just look at where Pan American Airlines is today after giving all those free trips away years ago on television game shows, and cheap trip coupons in some newspapers and magazines, as I recall seeing years ago.

    • Joanna

Using that logic every company we use coupons for would be out of business. I’m pretty sure Johnson and Johnson and the like are going to be around for a while and so will Walgreens.

  19. Babs

Worked at both a 24 hour store and a store that closes at 10PM here. Got the fleece throws for a pet rescue!!

  20. Jess

The fleece deal worked at 7pm at a 24 hour walgreens. Thanks!

  21. Christie

It must be up to the store. I went a store that closes at 10 at 9 and no deal on the Listerine in Powder Springs, GA! 🙁 Thanks Collin for posting! 😀

  22. amiko

Just got back from Walgreens. Another suprise for me, I bought 12 dozens of eggs on sale for .99 cents and got 2,000 points. Don’t know how. So, happy cheap eggs for someone who is learning how to bake for the family this holidays.

    • Alissa

Did you purchase over $10 in Nice products? I know the last couple weeks they have had the earn 2k points for spending over $10 on Nice products deal.

      • amiko

yes, I think that’s how I get it. Not even aware. It’s 2000 points yay!

  23. Elle Si

    Wow! Thank you hip2save!

  24. Jamie

I went last night to do the blanket deal. could not find more than one color and they sign for b1g1 free was for the 4.99 blankets not the

  25. Babs

Jamie, The $4.99 fleece blankets were the ones that were 2/$5 AND Buy One Get One Free so they ended up being $1.25. These are thin and I think a bit small for a throw for people but they will totally work for the no-kill shelter I am sending them to.
