UPDATE – It appears a few of you received emails with $60 off offers, making the Kindle as low as only $9! Wowza!!!

IMPORTANT – Before reading this deal, please note that this offer is only popping up for select Amazon members…

Here’s a *HOT* offer you may be able to score on select Kindle e-Readers or Tablets from Amazon – valid through 10/29! Currently, Amazon appears to be offering $40 off ANY select Kindle for select account holders (also some members may be scoring bigger discounts!?). Keep in mind that this $40 offer popped up for me, but did not pop up for my sidekicks, so it definitely will vary.

Here’s what you’ll need to do…

*Head on over here and look for a banner at the top (like pictured above) that states “Save $40 on ANY Kindle.” Keep in mind that you may need to click on the link a few times in order for the offer to pop up.

*If this offer pops up for you, click on the banner and you’ll be able to see the various eligible Kindles on sale – starting at just $69!

*After applying the promotion (valid through 10/29), you’ll pay as low as $29 for a Kindle (regularly $69) or $99 for a Kindle Fire (regularly $139)…and more! WOW!

*After redeeming your offer, your offer will be applied to your account and your discount will appear at checkout. Plus, these Kindles ship FREE with Super Saver Shipping on a $35+ purchase OR snag FREE 2-day shipping (no minimum) with Amazon Prime (check out this post for more information on how to score a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime).

Come back and let us know if you received this same offer in your account!

If anyone isn’t using their email could you please forward? I’d love to use for my sons Christmas gift! Thank you! Julie1788@verizon.net

  2. Heidi V

So where do you go to get the 20% off the refurbished ones? I didn’t get the banner but they credited my account $30 and would still like to combine the deals if possible

  3. allison

If anyone isn’t going to use their code would you please email it to me? I would really appreciate it! ar.goodrum@yahoo.com
    Thanks!

  4. Betty

I’m in the same boat. I didn’t get an email with the code either. If you aren’t using your code, could you email it to me? billbettynboys@iglide.net. I got one for my son last year but my daughter really wants one and my son pretty much uses his all the time.

  5. Dipu

If anyone is not going to use their code could you please forward me , my id is (dipoutlaws@gmail.com). I want to buy for my brother for his birthday. I would really appreciate it. Thanks

  6. Karalyn

I was offered the $60 deal, and was able to get the $9 Kindle. I didn’t see an email, but the banner was there when I went to the amazon link. I am not a Prime member but I have used the Prime trials in the past. Thanks so much for posting, I would not have ever known about this offer without seeing it here! Another Christmas gift down!

  7. Matache

If anyone has a code and doesn’t need it my e-mail address is nea.matache@yahoo.com.

    Thanks a bunch !

    • Roxy

Nea Matache de unde vii? 🙂

      • Matache

        De departe.

  8. jess

I didn’t get it either oh well, unless someone would like to share!!

  9. Carol

Don’t talk to Bobbie, she won’t do a thing! Says she’s not authorized to do anything like that.

  10. Roxy

I decided to go back through my orders to see if I have been a loyal customer over the last 3 years. And I ran into an order placed a year ago where they charged me $20 for shipping, and the order said Free Shipping. So I talked to the chat representative and I was refunded the value. Very good customer service I must say!

  11. Janelle

Received the $60 off email. I shopped around for a bit and added a case for the kindle to my cart, however when I went to purchase it, the discount disappeared and it said I was no longer eligible. I had to call and they couldn’t figure it out, but they gave me a 60 dollar credit for Kindle products. If this happens to any of you, I recommend calling! If you got the email, they will honor the discount.

  12. Kelli

A friend forwarded me her email from amazon and it wouldn’t let me use it until I logged in with her info, so asking for someone’s code probably won’t work. I did use it for $60 off. I’m super excited. She said she doesn’t really use amazon but I noticed she is a prime member. Idk how they decided who got emails…seems random and weird.

  13. Carol

My $40 credit just dropped to $20 so I think I’ll pass this time.

    • Becca

Hey I saw the banner and it said 60 but when I tried to apply it to my cart it changed to 20 so I chatted with them and they honered the originals amount , just so you know

  14. Kelsey

I am looking to get one for my husband for x-mas but I did not recieve the offer 🙁 I will take someone’s if they aren’t using theirs!

    kstledger@gmail(dot).com

    Thank you in advance!!!!

  15. Faye

Please…if you’re not gonna use the coupon, would you kindly email to me?? 🙂
    brigadeiros@live.com
    Super thank you!!!! very much!!!!

    • Carol

It isn’t a code. It’s just in that specific account so no one can give someone their credit unless you give them your user name and password and I don’t think anyone will want to do that and then purchase through them.

  16. heather c

It’s not a coupon but an email link. You have to be in a specific demographic according to amazon. I got one and I’m so stoked! I wanted a kindle forever and never wanted to splurge, but for $9.68! I can’t even buy the newest edition paper back books for that! Yahooie! Thanks Collin, you as always ROCK!

  17. Pattie

ughh. The banner says Save $60..but when I click and put it in my cart..it reduces to $20.

    • Janelle

I would call and see if you can get them to change it. When I clicked on my email link, the deal disappeared, however I called and they confirmed that I was eligible and gave me a $60 kindle credit!

    • Becca

Same thing happened to me, chat with them they gave me the 60 eventually

  18. Kimberly

Same boat here- I’ll purchase that code from any of you that aren’t going to use it!
    Thanks!

Sounds like the consolation prizes are getting smaller. I was just offered $15. We own 3 kindles and have bought hundreds of books this year and the past few. I would have loved a higher amount since we were considering buying multiple new kindles this holiday season.

    • Tilla Ham

here too…we had 4 kindles to that account with 180 download books in the last 2 months, my girls are HUGE readers made zero sense to me

  20. Diana

If you don’t get the email or banner than you don’t get the deal
why do people have to call amazon and complain about not getting it?? That’s what makes these companies not want to do deals C’mon there will be plenty more deals out there people 😃 I promise I’m not trying to be rude

    • Jen

I agree!! Amazon didn’t have to do anything like this, but they are being generous! Everyone needs to be happy for those who got the deal, and suck it up if they didn’t! Everyone will get a turn at a good deal!

      • Melanie

        Agree!

    • a

i think people are upset because there is no logic to the deal. if it is completely random, so be it. if it was offered to customers that ordered a specific amount, or were prime members, etc then i think more people would be understanding. the ambiguity to the promos is what makes people upset. it doesn’t make sense when one person owns 3 kindles then gets a code for $60 off when others who want to buy a kindle don’t get any discount. just had to share. since that is why so many of my friends are upset. i personally don’t care either way.

  21. laura

I am not seeing the banner with the discount…Is it gone??

Does anyone have an extra code?
    lauriec728@gmail.com

    Thanks!

  22. Sarah Gerald Scrichfield

Deal must be dead. I’ve clicked 50 times and I’ve got nothin.

  23. Tracy Fitzery Rose

I’m a prime member and spend a fortune there every year and I didn’t get ANY offer. Lame.

  24. Yolanda

Thanks Collin! I bought the Kindle Fire for $99! Now Hubs and I can stop fighting over the one we have!

  25. Sarah

I saw it the first time! Bought the $69 one for $9. Thank you soooo much Collin! Can’t decide if I will save it for Dad for Christmas or let me kids play on it so they stop asking for my Ipad.

    • Tilla Ham

they’ll still want the ipad, the inexpensive kindle is awesome for reading, and that is all

  26. Krista

I think if you are a good customer and give these companies lots of business you should get a deal every now and then. Just chatted and was very polite, didn’t complain just asked if I qualified for the discount, and the rep. said no it was an email that was sent out to some customers.. but by looking at my account I have been a great customer so they were pleased to offer me the $60.00 promotional deal. They actually just credited my account $60.00 to go toward anything, but I plan to purchase the kindle for Christmas!

You don’t have to be rude or hateful, even on a chat.. kindness goes a long way, and it does depend on your rep sometimes, I’ve had some that don’t have a clue what I’m talking about.
Just wanted to share, it won’t hurt to ask!
Thanks Collin for the head up!

    • J

I agree Krista! I was very polite when asking about it and they offered me a $10 credit….not your $60 but ill take it! Happy for those that got it!

    • patti

i just chatted with them, was very polite in asking about the promo, but said they couldnt offer it to me as it was an email invitation mailed only to certain people and if i didn’t receive that email they couldnt give me one:-(

      • J

Patti, try with another rep. It took me a few to get one that was friendly and didn’t just give me the “certain people” thing. I also asked if there were any other current discounts or upcoming ones and he said while there isn’t he’d apply the credit to my account on any future purchase sold by Amazon. Hth:)

        • Jen

I talked to a rep also I was told customer service did not send out the emails marketing was and so therefore they could not give me a credit boo!

    • Leah

      I got a $60 credit from a rep, too 🙂

    • ac

I ended up getting a $40 discount. Now to decide what one to get.

  27. Jen

    nothing for me

  28. Jennifer

Would love a code to get my Mom a Kindle Fire for Christmas. My email is jlberry22@comcast.net. Thanks a million! : )

  29. Tina W

I just purchased one for $9 total!

  30. Laney

Wow can’t believe some people got $60 credits! I chatted with them and they applied a $30 credit for anything to my account! I’m excited anyhow.

  31. julie

Same here talked to them and they would do nothing they were trying to get me to end the chat before I was even thru.

  32. tina

Between this discount, my Plink discount and my survey discounts I just got this for $55 shipped, I am soooo happy!

  33. tina

BTW no email, but I am a prime member and maybe that is why the discount was applied automatically?

  34. Jeannie

So I never did see an email, but when I did log on Amazon, and clicked on the Kindle items, I saw they were offering me a $20 discount. I wanted more (greedy me lol), so I contacted Amazon via live chat, politely mentioned that I had heard others were being offered a $60 discount, and reminded them I was a good Prime Customer who ordered frequently. I mentioned too, that I loved Amazon, but that I was disappointed about my “offer”, blah, blah, blah. So they offered me an additional $30 discount, for a total of $50 off, plus I had $10 worth of Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks. So tonight I ordered my “$9.00” Kindle. So if you didn’t get an e-mail offer, contact them & be nice and maybe you’ll get a great deal too. So glad I stoppped by Hip 2 Save tonight.

  35. Tilla Ham

this was very VERY VERY random…and the employees don’t know how or why it works;) The employees told me that it was based on the amount of kindle books you’ve downloaded and goes to heavy downloaders that have prime. In my case, definitely not true. I have 9 amazon accounts, for 6 people in the house. One with 4 kindles on it and it didn’t receive the code. One that hasn’t been used in years, no kindles, no prime and it is the one out of 9 accounts that did receive the code.

    • Carrie

So true! Very random, I got $40 off. Have ordered 1 physical book & no e books in the last year. I do spend a lot on Amazon, though & am a prime member. No pattern I can see…just random. Be glad if you got it (I never score on deals), better luck next time if you didn’t. Can’t win ’em all.

      • Carrie

I have downloaded a few movies in my prime account, though. Not sure if that’s what qualified me?

  36. Hilary

Nothing about this promotion makes sense. I’m extremely disappointed in Amazon for creating this kind of drama and confusion.

    • Tilla Ham

amazon didn’t create drama and confusion, coupon blogs did. amazon chose the customers it wanted to receive the deal. I’m not faulting Collin for sharing, just saying we can’t fault amazon when we weren’t meant to receive it

      • Christina C

I agree it was not amazon it was coupon blogs.

    • Melanie

I contacted Amazon and they said the offer was offered to people who have made Kindle purchases in the past? I don’t know how they chose people but it’s no different than a store selecting a certain zip code to mail coupons to. Missed out on this deal but I still love Amazon and shop with them often.

  37. Jennifer

Just like everyone else, if you don’t plan on using your code, I would gladly take it off your hands. Please email it to me: kuangsavings@gmail.com

    THANKS IN ADVANCE 🙂

  38. April M.

I chatted with a rep to ask why I wasn’t offered the code because I have bought so much stuff over 15 years. They couldn’t tell me why or how people received it but they did give me a $20 credit to use on anything.

  39. Abby

I got the $60 code last night. The first time I added the offer to my account it only took $30 off but when I refreshed the offer it added the whole $60 to my account. I do have amazon prime but rarely download a kindle book

  40. Lisa

Didn’t see the code either, but thanks for the heads up!

  41. Andrea

I got 60$ coupon today. We don’t have prime and bought a few books for iPad using Kindle app.

  42. Stacey

Got mine but was not a email was offered in my amazon account as a coupon I clipped when looking at kindles. Thanks for the heads up was great deal for Christmas for the inlaws.

  43. Lori

    Is $60 off a kindle fire – so $80 a good deal?

  44. Jennifer

The offer is running through 11:59 pm PST, Oct 29, 2013.
The customers have been already sent the email though.
That is why I can not assure you about it that new email will be sent now.
We don’t have any update yet. <<– From an Amazon chat rep

  45. Rachel Francis

I got the 60.00 off offer and I also have an Amazon credit card that I earn points with. I used my points and got the Kindle free!!!!

  46. Rachael

I talked to a rep. They credited my account $5. Not the $60 or $40 others got but it is something. Now, do I use that and my SB giftcards to get the kindle, hmm. https://swagbucks.com/refer/twoboystwogirls So far this year I have gotten over $100 in Amazon gc just from searching using SB

  47. Tara

Disappointed….didn’t get the code and I also talked to customer service, didn’t get squat 🙁 Dang, i really wanted a reader cause i dont own one.

  48. Heidi

R these coming to your actual email accounts or is it something you see when you log into your amazon account?

  49. Jessica V.

I just tried and they told me : The email was not sent to you. Let me explain something to you about this promo, eligible customers are heavy book purchasers and it varies from $20 to $60.

    • Tilla Ham

the amazon account of mine that received it doesn’t own a kindle and has never purchased a book:)
