maybe I’m not getting this. how do we use the october coupon book on the 27th if it expires on the 26th?

    • Autumn

These deals are for today only, the 26th.

    • Kris10

That’s why she put today only on here. Today is the 26th so it’s the last possible day to use these coupons

      • megan

Right but the sales start tomorrow. I wish my Walgreens did the deals early!

    • Mrs. Waller

You use it today, the 26th. Today’s deals are overlapping with tomorrow’s deals at most stores (double dipping), so you’re able to use the coupon in the October book with tomorrow’s sale price. This is today only as the current book expires today. Hth! It can be a bit confusing!

    • Amber

I think that the post was talking about the deals that start tomorrow (10/27) are ringing up today (10/26) and that you can use the coupon today but get tomorrow’s deal.

    • Sarah Jean Ward

Use it today. The deals starting the 27th activate on saturday late afternoon.

  2. Kayli

I called my store and they said that they start their pricing for next week tomorrow. 🙁

    • Mrs. Waller

From my experience, it’s best to go and price check something to see if the new sale price is ringing up. All 3 of my stores activate their sales early, but they all say that they don’t. Hth!

  3. kari

What time do you find that your Wags usually turns on the next weeks ad? I know that when I’ve gone by 8pm its usually on but I would rather go earlier in the day. TIA!

    • Mrs. Waller

All 3 of mine start no later than noon. You may just have to go in and price check something! Hth!

  4. Jai

Mine usually start 7 or 8 pm

  5. Stacia

I got 13 bags of candy for $1.10 for each bag using some insert coupons and some printable coupons! I also got the Trix, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Lucky Charms and Head & Shoulders deal! My store also had some Cover Girl foundations marked 3.99 on clearance and they work for the BOGO50 deal!

  6. estela

if i get 8 boxes of cereal will the walgreens coupon deduct $4 or do i have to do seperate transactions???

    • Lisa

Wags coupons take off for how ever many of the correct items you have for the deal offered on the coupon.

  7. lily

my chocolate did not ring up 1.99. also you can’t use the walgreens coupon on the snickers minis…it’s only for the funsize.

    • Sue

Deal Scenario #2 for the candy is incorrect. The price for candy this week is 2/$5. You have to use the store coupon in the booklet to get $1 off of 2 making it 2/$4. So if you buy three bags of Mars Fun size, the total would be $7.50 – $1 (coupon from the booklet) – $2 off 3 bags making the total $4.50 for three bags = $1.50 per bag not 99 cents as stated. Found that out the hard way after a trip there 🙁

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        Hi Sue,

The price for this week is 2/$5… however, today only, select Walgreens stores start the sales for next week early which means the bags of fun size candies may ring up for just $1.99. Did you price check?

        • Sue

Yes, I did. They were 2/$5 and will not be $1.99 until they reopen tomorrow morning, Sunday, 10/27. The scenario should have mentioned that would be the price IF your store starts the sale prices for the following week early b/c many of them don’t.

        • Jay

Just a note, in my experience, “x-day sales” do not usually double-dip on the Saturday before they are to begin the same way regular week-long sales do. This is because of the specific number of days these sales run for; they need to stay within the stated time period and stop thereafter. HTH. What are everyone else’s experiences like?

      • Lucy

It was same for me 2 for $5. Everything else I purchased was last week’s and this week’s deals combined. I bought Trix cereal, Head and Shoulders, Softsoap bodywash and chex mix. The only thing that was not a double dip was the Mars Fun Size Bags.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Lily,

The Snickers minis are actually included in the sale. I thought the same thing to at first, as they were not marked at my store, but they did ring up on sale so be sure to price check.

      • Ariel

i did the fun size and the coupon would’t work, and they rang up $7!!! tried the minis and the coupon took but they rang up $5!! i went a head and bought them for the $4 but I am taking them back tomorrow, we don’t like them THAT much. We would have like them okay for .49 LOL bummer… but the diaper deal worked!!!

  8. Crystal

I’m so tempted to make a run to Walgreens with the kids but I’m feeling so lazy this Sat and just want to stay home. If I go I would definately get the diapers and cereal.

    • Kris10

Same here. I’ve become a super
lazy couponer, and by the time Saturday comes- I want to stay home! Lol

  9. Alex Menosaba

I dont get off till 10 and wont be able to get back to the store until 11. Does anyone know what time does the deal end?

  10. Moria

So the only way to find out if your Walgreens participates in these “double dipping” deals is to go there and do price checks?

    • Mrs. Waller

      That’s correct!

  11. Ashley

The snickers peanut butter squared rang up 2/$5 and I double checked the size.

    • Pam

yeah, I read that the candy was not double dipping as people were hoping.

  12. BETH

am I missing the details on the fleece throws?

    • Mrs. Waller

This week they’re 2/$5 ($2.50 each) and next week they’ll be buy one get one free. So, if you buy 2, you’ll pay $2.50 total or $1.25 each. Hth!

  13. Samantha

Just wanted to share that the following deal from couponaholic.net works:

BUY TWO DEGREE MEN ADRENALINE SERIES, on sale BOGO 50% OFF $5.29 through 10/26 (plus extra 25% off for the new ad) – will probably ring up $3.97 and $1.98 for the two items
BUY TWO DEGREE WOMEN’S EXPERT PROTECTION INVISIBLE SOLID, on sale BOGO 50% OFF $5.29 through 10/26 (plus extra 25% off for the new ad) – will probably ring up $3.97 and $1.98 for the two items
Total four all four items is $11.90 if this is how it works out.
Get 1000 Balance Rewards points (value $1-$1.25) for every two Degree purchased (deal through 10/26)
Get 3000 Balance Rewards points (value $3-$3.75) for purchasing $10+ of select Degree Products (deal starting 10/27)
Use two $1/1 Degree Men Adrenaline Series printable coupons (preclipped)
and use one $2/2 Degree Women Expert Protection Invisible Solids printable coupon (preclipped)
Price at Register: $7.90, but earn a total of 5000 Balance Rewards points (value $5-$6.25)
NET PRICE FOR ALL: AS LOW AS $1.65 (or 41 cents each!)

In my store they were actually reg price $4.79! So respectively $3.59 and $1.79 after the BOGO and 25% off.

I did not have success in the candy department as the smallest fun size I could find was of Snickers and they are 11.18oz which I would guess puts it outside of the range for the $1.99 so they rung up $2/5 and after coupons paid $8 for 6 bags which isn’t terrible but I wish I could have confirmed that deal, all the other candies were larger size too even though they said fun size.

  14. Monica

Huggies deal worked! Snickers squared are 1.99 at my store too

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome! That’s great to hear! 🙂

  15. Sue

I don’t want anyone to waste a trip like I did so please correct the candy (Mars) deal scenario #2: Deal Scenario #2 for the candy is incorrect.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Sue,

As I state in the post, these “Double Dipping” deals only work at select Walgreens locations and the time at each store will vary depending on when they start ringing up at the sale prices for next week.

Deal Scenario #2 will work IF they are ringing up at next week’s $1.99 sale price and a few readers have commented and emailed that they have successfully snagged these candy deals.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion.

  16. Laurie

The other day I was in line to check out at the walgreens I hate and this poor lady wanted something price checked. She took it to both registers and asked them to price check and both told her no they weren’t allowed to do that what is worse the manager stood right there and watched and let it happen. I felt so bad for her she was mad and left and not one worker cared.

  17. Margaret

I did the Huggies diaper scenario and it worked! Is it lame to include them in a gift basket for my nephew’s Christmas present? Thank you, Collin!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That’s not lame at ALL!! I think diapers make great gifts because they will surely get used. 🙂

  18. ashli

I was able to do the cereal deal and bought 8 boxes for 5.30 before tax and I did huggies and bought 8 packs for 17.xx (I also have the your child coupon book) I was able to do the chex mix deal as well however the candy was not on next weeks price yet. 🙂

  19. Nick

I am gonna pick me up some of the fleece blankets. I am making a donation box for the no kill animal shelter. I was able to pick up several cans of food from the $1/1 purina coupon Collin posted awhile back. Is this something an animal shelter could use?

    • Dana

Yes. Animal shelters are always in need of those things. Our local animal shelter has a wish list of things they use and need. It makes it easier for people to know what to donate.

  20. kari

Shopping at Wags is sooooooooooooooo much trouble as nothing ever rings right (or if it does ring right then the coupons wont work!). I tried to start off with the Tums deal (buy @ $4.50 and get the $4.50 RR and it didnt print (even thought the sale price rang right). The Mgr said that RR’s wont print till Sunday. Is this right???? The I tried the 3 bags of Hershey candy deal and they rang at last weeks 2/$5 price ( I did get the snack size bag. But Lucky Charms and Chex mix rang correctly.

So do they activate only parts of each ad at a time? Or do they activate it all at once?

    • Nick

Sale prices and point offers activate early on Saturday as they are controlled by Walgreens. Register Reward offers are done by manufacturers and only start on Sundays. HTHs.

      • kari

Thanks! I didn’t know that they were separate. But now I know!

  21. Lina

I got the diaper deal. Thank you soooooo much!!!

  22. Elvira V.

I can’t find the coupon for $2.50 off Huggies – $2.00 is the best I see. It doesn’t give me the option to share. Help?

  23. Lesomom

Just did it in Ct.. Thank you as always!!

  24. Rachel

None of the candies in your scenario rang up $1.99. The snickers peanut butter square is not $1.99 either but they price modified it. Got 6 bags for $3. I grab a bunch of Mars and nestle candies but when I got to the register none of them are $1.99. It took me 10 mins to grab everything I need but took me about 30-45 mins at check out. I also grab trix and lucky charms and rang $1.75…

  25. Amber

Just stocked up on the fleece blankets! There’s no limit to how many you can buy so we stocked up to give them as Christmas gifts! Thanks Collin!

  26. Jess

Candy was a no go at my store in East Tn. I bought it anyway and the cashier called the manager to try to get it lower but she said if we did I couldn’t used the Wags Oct booklet coupon. $8 for 5 bags of cangy still not a terrible deal.

    • Jess

      *candy

  27. Jamie

Tried these at 9pm but nothing was ringing up with Sundays sale price. 🙁 I wish there was a way to check prices without holding up the cashier and line!

  28. Amy

I just tried to buy a few of the snickers peanut butter squared. They rang up $2.50, but the store did already have the sale signs out for $1.99. I asked politely if they would honor that price since all of the sale signs were already out, and I was heckled by the lady in line behind me that that is not fair to Walgreens. I was so embarrassed and upset that I left everything on the counter. Wish I would have come up with something snappy to say back before I left, and I am still not exactly sure how having sale signs up but not honoring the sale price is fair to the consumer??

  29. Liz

Just a reminder that the it will show the full price unless you scan your rewards card if you are price checking.

    • JenniferS

Last night I made a trip to Walgreens for the Huggies HOT deal that rang up $3.50 per pkg and the Snickers Peanut Butter Fun Size rang up $1.00 per bag. Plus the Glade Sense and Spray that rang up $2.79 with 1,000 balance rewards points. When I price checked at the cosmetic counter (I highly recommend!) before purchasing. There’s two prices that show up, member price and non- member price. They should be able to do a quick price check for you. You are there to spend your money, that’s the least they could do for you.

  30. Marley

Thanks! Colin! Got 4 packs of Huggies for $4 each, Woot!
I LOVE your site! I refer all my friends to it!

  31. Abby

I did the chex mix and pull ups deal with no PROBLEM at all.!! This is awesome!! Tks Collin 🙂

  32. Ashley

Huggies and cereal worked! No luck with candy and deodarent.

  33. mandy

so, If I do the snicker mini deal today, how much will each bag cost?

  34. Tonia

I was able to do the Huggies, but not the Degree Clinical. The Degree only rang up B1G1 50%. The 25% off was not there.

  35. Gigi

Will they take the store coupon if it expires 10/26??
