i couldn’t even find these at my CVS. it is not in the print ad but when i put in my zip code it shows up online. i would really love to get in on this deal so that i could use the $50 ecb to get toys for my kiddos for xmas. oh well.

    • debra

That is what I have planned. Want to do it again but afraid greed will get me. 🙂

      • Crystal

i’ll be happy to just be able to do it once but i can’t even find the cards at my cvs. i have a feeling they were pulled since this cvs is always well stocked and i don’t live by many couponers. its ok though. you get some deals and you don’t get some deals.

    • Duane

Hey everybody I just got my $50.00 EB, and CVS is still allowing people to buy the card, but they took them from the shelf and placed them behind the counter, they have two different paypal cards, so I asked the manager if the one that I had was the right one and he said no, he went and got me one from behind the counter, and they also said that there’s is a limit of one per customer!!!! I have a Referral Code 9011286574 $5.00 for me and $5.00 for you, but you must activate it online at https://www.paypal-prepaid.com/ Thanks!!!!

  2. guidetocouponing

When I went to activate my second card, it asked me for a referral code to get my bonus. I used the one that’s higher up in this comment strand, but wanted to know how to get my own, so here are the instructions.

It says, “For every friend you get to sign up, activate and load $10 on their card, you (and they) will get $5.”

Here is mine – hope someone can use it =):

PayPal Prepaid MasterCard Debt Card Referral Code: 9523571659

To get yours – login to your account at https://www.paypal-prepaid.com and then click on “My Account” and then “Refer a Friend”

If you have a friend you coupon with, this is a great way to “cover” the activation fee and the monthly fee (mine was debited automatically when I activated it).

  3. Eva

They charge ANOTHER $4.95 within 3 days for maintenance. My card just got charged today.

    • Kidsallgone

Mine too! Grrr!! I was hoping to spend it on another card before they took it out. They must be making a KILLING if they are deducting that fee after purchasing the card. Would still like to know how some avoided that by purchasing other gift cards like at Walmart. I’m tempted to just buy another outright and wait a couple days to see if I got a $5 referral credit (thanks to Britney).

      • Elizabeth

If you get a referral $5 I guess it would make up for the maint. Fee.

        • rose

if u cancel soon after they mail u the check back to ur address of $4.95 if i remember correct
i remember last time when a few weeks ago cvs had the deal on this paypal mastercard spend $50 get $10 ecb i got this card after using it i cancel the card and a while later i got my money back in check form but its best to call and ask

  4. Kim

I just bought one in Sanford, NC … there are tons of cards available in my local store. Thanks Collin for the heads up on this fabulous deal! 🙂

  5. Elizabeth

I have relative who works at CVS in the Houston area. She said cooperate will honor the 50 ECB through today only!!!! So if you can find it get it!

  6. jenn

It DID work for me yesterday (11/24) Metro ATL, and the ECBs printed on the bottom of my reciept. The store “supervisor” refused to hand me my ECBs, claiming it was a glitch and she wasnt going to hand over “free” money. WHAT??!!?? – I showed her on myWeeklyad (via CVS.com) using my ZIP that it was indeed valid, but she said she wasnt going to give it to me and told me to call CVS – ironically not open on Sunday. She auto-refunded me the purchase amount (154.95)
Today, after about 45 mins on the phone with CVS and then a 10 min drive down to the same CVS, I got an apology and 50.00 ECBs reprinted. I offered to purchase another pre-paid card (and I was curious to see if a 2nd 50.00 ECB would print) but they were OUT.
50.00 free money, and I was able to shop and purchase most of the “free items” during this sale and still came out with 65.00 in more ECBS. LOVE IT!

    • Jade

I am in ATL as well, which store was this? Cannot find any in Buckhead.

      • jenn

Paces Ferry. They were out of them this morning.

  7. Colleen

Deal just worked for me in Camp Hill, PA. I had to go to two CVS’ before they had them in stock! They were behind the register (manager had to go search for them), but the deal worked perfectly and I got the $50 ECB on the bottom of my receipt. None of the employees seemed to really know of the deal/the hype around it. I am currently on hold with Paypal trying to activate my card, as I tried to enter a fake SSN when registering online and it froze me out. Really didn’t want to have to give that info, but I guess I will now! I am definitely running out this afternoon and using the card to buy gift cards at our local Giant store.

    • Colleen

Ok so here is what happened – I had entered all zeros as my SSN when I tried to register the card online, since there is no reason why they need that information. I had to call and speak to a representative, who asked me to forward them a copy of my SS card, state ID, and proof of residency in order to activate the card. I said a big “no thanks” and asked how we would proceed from there. She stated that I would be receiving a refund check for $144.05 (after $4.95 fee taken out) in 20 business days. Essentially I paid $10 for $50 ECB….so $40 ECB for nothing after I receive my rebate check. I definitely didn’t plan on that happening, but there is no way I was sending that info to Paypal for a stupid prepaid card!!!

      • Sara

Same thing happened to me. 🙁

        • katie

same thing here:( i got it to a limited use card. been on the phone for an hour!!!

        • Colleen

They told me that I would get a refund check in 20 business days – is that what you were told, too? I also explicitly asked for a confirmation email when they start processing the refund. It’s been several hours and I haven’t received anything yet. The customer service lady said to keep my card so if there was any issue with receiving my refund check I could call back and give them the 16-digit number on the card as a reference.

      • Sara

I’m on the phone with a lady with paypal and she activated my card for free over the phone without giving my SSN. She said I would be on limited use, which means I can’t use it at an ATM. Stinks, but better than nothing and not giving out my SSN.

  8. guidetocouponing

Has anyone tried putting $300 on one card and then getting $100 ECBs? My receipt says $150 to get the additional $50 ECBs, so I wondered if you could do $300 on one card (less things to keep track of) and then turn around and buy Black Friday items (they add up to about $76 for me and fill in the remaing $24 with other things you need)

  9. carla e.

Does anybody know if we can get a raincheck for this? Everycvs ive been to is out. Thanks! 🙂

  10. Britney

When you activate the PayPal card it will ask for a Friend Referral Code, if you’d like to use this code 2337686316 we will both earn a bonus of $5 added to our cards! Happy holidays!

  11. Kim

Do I have to deactivate the card after I use it? If so, how do I deactivate?

    • Lorraine

I would definitely deactivate the card once you’ve used it. Their fine print says they will charge you $4.95 monthly, and being that people are giving actual ss#s, I would hate for someone to get hit when they accrue several months worth of charges. Call 1866-753-6440 and follow prompts.

    • Britney

Yes you have to deactivate it. You can either call or go online and go to the help tab and there is a link to cancel the card.

  12. Elaine

I got my paypal card today at cvs. So now I just need to activate it. Once I do that can I add it to my paypal account and then enter that straight to my bank account from paypal?

    • S

      I’m wondering that too..

  13. Heather

This worked for me, Charlotte NC Steele Creek store. I bought one and loaded $500 on it (the Christmas budget for my husband and I), checked the receipt and then did it again for another $500 card for him. Yes, they will deduct 4.95 from the card in the first 36 hours – says so on the fine print of the card. This is still a great deal with 80 bucks in stuff for FREE! To those of you complaining that you can’t figure out how to use a $50 ECB all at once – please call me, I’m happy to help lol.

    • Susan

How can they auto-deduct the money if you zeroed it out already?

      • Susan

        Will they bill me?

        • Heather

I am using mine for Christmas gifts over the next 30 days, so I didn’t zero it out. I’m happy with an $80 freebie! You could make it $90 if you immediately bought other gift cards or took it out at the ATM, but a prepaid card helps us stick to a budget and so I use them for holiday spending anyway.
I do not know if they will bill you … If you’re providing your SSN it seems risky to leave it unpaid (since a good credit rating is worth more than $4.95!).

          • Susan

I would never leave it unpaid….just curious as to what is going to happen.

            • Heather

Hmmmm. Did you register online? Maybe go see what the balance shows there? I’m sure thee is a way to deal with it, or maybe you are off the hook if you get it closed before they charge it!

      • candy

It states as long as you have a balance…. If balance is zero…then no charge.

    • Littodien

So you got 2 $50ecbs printed out? I was curious to do $300 didn’t know if they would print or if I would just get the $50

      • Heather

I did two transactions of $500 each, got two $50 ECB’s.

    • Kidsallgone

      Lmao

  14. Loren

Share the Love this Holiday Season! I used a fellow saver’s referral ID when I registered.. If you would be kind enough to use mine, we could BOTH recieve a bonus $5.00 🙂

    Referral ID: 3486123987

    Thank you!!

  17. Susan

Does anyone have any advice on what’s going to happen in my case?: I bought the card and immediately used all the funds. However, I can’t immediately close it because dummy me ran it as credit. Are they going to bill me a $4.95 fee since I don’t have any funds on the card they can take? AHHHHH!!!!

  18. Lori

I have a question: When I purchase this paypal Mastercard for $154.95 (due to activation fee) Can I use it ANYWHERE Mastercard is accepted? QUESTION2: Since they deduct another $4.95 a month(not sure what that charge is for) but anyway, if I use it all the same day I purchase it will they still get the $4.95 before I spend it all?

  19. mom2

So after you cancel the card (I canceled it online) How long does it take for them to actually cancel it? Also can you cancel it by phone as well?

    • debra

If you canceled the card online then it is done. No longer valid.

    • CHica

How did you cancel it online?

    • caitie

      how do i cancel online

      • Oye Coyle

Can I put 300.00 on at once and get 100 in ecb. So i only have one 4.95 fee and one card? Please answer soon Im leaving for the store.

    • Heather

No, the ECB will print once for each card purchased. It won’t double.

  22. mom2

1201434616 here is my code if someone would like to use it 🙂

  23. Katie

so what is the best way to go, use it as a debit or credit? i’d like to avoid giving my ss#

    • Susan

You can’t avoid that part…but use debit so you can close it right away!

      • Katie

i read that you can ACTIVATE without a ss#, but to REGISTER the card you need a ss#? i plan on loading it onto my amazon account for christmas.

      • mom2

How do you close it? do you report it lost? I don’t get it

        • Susan

You call and tell them to close it.

  24. Carol

I tried at my store and they had pulled all the cards. They said it was a mistake and they couldn’t even figure out who put the deal on their website. She said people were buying them like crazy yesterday and then this morning they removed them from the shelf. Wish I had gone yesterday !

  25. Kayla

BOSTON: The CVS on Mass Ave near the Pru has six of the cards. Check the side of the rack closest to the phamarcy. 🙂

  26. Britney

When you activate the PayPal card use this referral code 2337686316 and we will both earn a bonus of $5 added to our cards! Happy holidays!

    • Elaine

It worked! And I used ur code. Thanks!

  27. Chrisina

When you activate your card, it will ask for a referral code. Use mine 2218010212 and we will both receive $5 in our accounts! Thanks!

  28. guidetocouponing

I called my cousin because he does these prepaid cards all the time. He ended up doing this deal (he’s not a couponer) and he asked for the cards to be for “Limited Use” – that way there is no additional $4.95 fee subtracted. So that’s what I did and then I immediately used them. Worked like a gem. So just make sure you request “Limited Use” when you call in to activate them.

  29. Lorenk172

Just passing on a success story..
I purchased one paypal mastercard with cash on my lunch break.. no issues.. activated (with a krazy couponer’s referral code) and revisited the same location after work.. picked up a 2nd card by scanning the first (plus another $4.95 cash) as payment.. withdrew $140 at an ATM and put the other $8.05 in gas.. closed the 2nd card within hours, NO additional fees charged.. leaving the 1st one open for a few days just to see what happens.. with $100 in ECB’s I’ll risk another $4.95 to feed my curiousity 🙂 ..
Thanks in advance to any who use my referral ID during activation: 3486123987 ..
    Happy Holidays.. buy something FUN!

  30. Wahappin

This was an online deal so none of the stores knew bout the deal. I don’t think anyone was trying to be nasty. They were doing their job….protecting assets. It amazes me just how many people are on this site trying to figure out how to get over. And you have to give you’re SSN because of the Patriot Act.

  31. Mel

I work at a CVS and found out about this deal last night at work when a customer purchased the first card and turned around and purchased the 2nd card (we have a limit 2) with the first one and was able to get 2 $50 EB back 🙂 It IS advertised in our weekly AD as well as a sale sign hanging on our gift card center. I will be doing this tonight when I go to work 🙂

    • Elaine

Thanks I’m going to try and use my first to purchase my second card.

  32. Elaine

Has anyone used there first card to purchase the 2nd card?

    • Christina

Yes I did last night. Tried a third time and was able to make the purchase but didn’t receive any extra bucks, so I wasted $4.95. Hate to spill the beans on someone, but I found out about this deal through my husband. His coworker is an extreme coupon chick and she told him about it. She says she has 20 CVS cards all with different identities and she was able to get $800 in extra bucks on Sunday and another $800 yesterday! I think I hate her but I can’t make up my mind lol. I’m going to create a CVS card for my husband today and get the deal again with the same original $150 purchase from last night. Then I’m going to use my moms a CVS card and do it another two times and split those with her.

      • Elaine

Thanks! I’m going to try this this afternoon when I’m there. Assuming you just had to pay the $4.95 after you used your first card.

        • Christina

U have to pay the $4.95 each time you buy a new one so it’s easier to charge up the card with $154.95 to START. I didn’t do that so I ended up paying the $4.95 with cash each time.

          • Christina

So my card got hit with another $4.95 overnight. I’ll have to figure out how to reload the thing so I can use it :-/

            • Christina

Learned something good. If your card get hit with a fee before you can use it to purchase the next one, do not reload it. Pay the difference in cash. There’s another fee just to reload it! So get your balance from calling the 800# and pay the difference in cash first!

            • Elaine

Thanks! I did purchase another card with my first card. But of course it was hit with a $4.95 just within a few hours. I’m not sure how that works!

  33. Angela

FYI: CVS is posting all over its Facebook page this message:

CVS Hi [Name], we apologize for the confusion and any inconvenience. The spend $150 Get $50 in ExtraBucks PayPal Prepaid Debit Card offer will be honored at your local store until the end of day on Wednesday, November 27.

Might wanna grab a screen shot.

  34. Aminah

my cvs is telling people they need a ss# to activate the card any truth to this

    • Christina

I was activating through the website on my smartphone and yes they do ask for social security number. I trust PayPal and MasterCard and the website says FDIC insured, so I didn’t find a problem with using my social security number however after doing it enough times it starts asking you a bunch of security questions, like stuff from your past, so be prepared.

      • Kidsallgone

It never asked me all that and i activated both my cards online. U must’ve clicked in something to make it do that?

        • Christina

Just typed in the web address on the package then did every field it asked for after that. Didn’t click anything unusual.

  35. allyson

I would be grateful if someone would use my referral code 5593792461 when they activate their Paypal card and we will both earn a bonus of $5 added to our cards! Happy holidays!

  36. Angela

Does this work if you put more than $150 on the card? I want to pull it out at the All Point ATM but am thinking I should keep it in $20 multiples in case the ATM doesn’t dispense. $10s.

    • Heather

      Any amount up to $500.

  37. Angela

Just did it. After the transaction the cashier exclaimed “So it IS true!” The first that location (or at least that shift) had heard of the deal was earlier today when a man asked them about it and they had no idea how to respond…

  38. Jen

So this deal is still working today? My CVS has them but after rumors of corporate calling off the deal I’m nervous to try it.

  39. Jen

I did it just now at 3pm EST and it worked! I used cash for one and the cashier talked me into the second so I used a credit card for the second and it worked!
I don’t know if the referral codes are one time use only so I’ll post mine if someone needs one : 8813295732 you get $5 extra dollars for using it.

    Cheers!

  40. Katie

Got one today! If you would like to use my referral code, it is 5930375571.

  41. Caity Tarbert

Is anyone experiencing trouble redeeming the $50 EBs they earned? I saw on CVS’s FB page that some stores are refusing to honor the EBs. I’m feeling like I should go spend them ASAP, because I don’t want to fight with them.

  42. land

Has anyones card shpwn up with the referral money yet. I spent all my 145.05 today. In wondering if I should cancel now or if the referall monwy come still

  43. daleah

Finally was able to get my card this morning and $50 ECB. Just activated it and if anyone needs a referral code here is mine: 4460314040

  44. A.hatcher

Just used one of ladies referral codes thank you and if someone would like to use mine thank you. Deal is working in the Central Florida/Orlando area

    • A.hatcher

      Referral code:8371993304

  45. Sandra

I just went to CVS and the deal is still there. Make sure you go the gift card section and see if the sign for $50 ECB is there mine was there so I took that sign up to the register and they gave me a raincheck since they were out and I went to another CVS and got the card and $50 ECB. If you need a referral code here is mine: 5680919289 for extra $5 for you and me. Cheers!

  46. Katie

For those wondering about the referral credit… I checked my account online and it said that someone had bought and activated a card (thanks) and to give them 7 days to credit my account. You may want to check your account.

Referral number if you want to use it: 5930375571
    Thanks

    • Katie

Oh yea and I used a referral that was posted here, but don’t remember who, sorry

  47. chrissy1925

So are we sure there is a limit of TWO? I did it once on Sunday, but would love another one.

    • Katie

I believe some areas were two, I am from Southern Indiana and my limit was one.

  48. Samantha Jones

I bought mine today. I immediately activated it and bought a $150 Amazon gift card. Now, I don’t have to worry about monthly fees. I also cashed in my Extracare bucks. Everything worked like a charm for me. I used Danielle Abbott’s referral, so if someone wants to use mine, it’s 6060074458. Thanks!

  49. Katie

What if you reloaded a paypal mastercard with $150 at CVS? Would that generate a 50 ECB?

  50. Jen

My online add said limit one but the cashier told me it was two. (I’m in CT) I did two and on the receipt it said “Paypal $300 limit reached.”

So I was able to do two. 🙂
