I tried at my store in MS and they had pulled all the cards. They said it was a mistake and they couldn’t even figure out who put the deal on their website. She said people were buying them like crazy yesterday and then this morning they removed them from the shelf. Wish I had gone yesterday !
But that is complety wrong! CVS, know it was in the add and paypal told them to pull because they are loosing money!
Shaws grocery store has a deal right now – buy $100 of select giftcards (see display in store: Amazon, Kohls, Lowes, and some others) and the register prints a $20 Shaws credit to be used on next shopping trip! So, here’s what I did:
1. Paid $154.95 for $150 card @ CVS and got my $50 ECB.
2. Used the $50 ECB to shop the freebie deals which broke the single $50 ECB down into smaller ECB denominations and got me stocking stuffers, stock items, and donation items for the local food pantry.
3. Activated the Paypal card today and did the Shaws deal – used $100 to get 2 gift cards from places I’m going shopping anyway and got free $20 @ Shaws for Thanksgiving food.
4. Went to use up the last $50 buying a Shaws giftcard, but transaction got declined. So I figured they must have pulled the $4.95. Adjusted the amount to $45.05 and it worked. Paid the remainder ($4.95) with my credit card.
What I scored with $159.90:
1. $50 /- of goods from CVS
2. $50 ECBs still to use @ CVS
3. $50 Amazon gift card
4. $50 Kohls gift card
5. $20 Shaws bonus
6. $50 Shaws gift card

nevermind- nobody use my referral link- I went ahead and emptied my card and closed it- LOL!
Somewhere it said it takes 2 days for the referral credit to show up.
To get the referral code $10 has to be added to the refereed card. If you check your message on the website, it tells you ‘what has to happen next’ which is $10 dollars needs to be added then you’ll both get $5.00. I have 5 referrals on my account, not no $$$, since no one added the $10.
This seems more complicated than it’s worth. Activate, cancel, fees, forget it.
If you want to make money you need to work for it. to spend $150 and get $270 ($120 profit) like *relaxyourback* that is what I call Holiday Shopping.

I activated it online Mon morning. Then When I called the automated number to check my balance it said I had $145.05 which means they took out their “maintenance” fee overnight (I bought it Sunday) or right after I activated it. Then I went to cvs and bought another card with it but had to choose “credit” because it didn’t work as a debit. I had to pay $9+ with my Visa card to cover the rest of the amount on the master card and the cost of the card. Then I activated the new card online and went right to Publix.com and bought a gift card for $150. Since I have a Paypal acct I might get charged the $4.95 fee there but I’m hoping not. Either way, I only spent $150 + $4.95 + $4.95 + $4.95 and got $100 in ecbs, hopefully $5 for a referral, and still have &150 coming in a Publix card where I shop every week.

What this means for you:
When you request a Card Account, we will ask for your name, street address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to reasonably verify your identity. We may also ask for your driver’s license or other identifying documents at any time.
I refused to give them my social security and they said at could still use the card for in store purchases but not online and that the card would be closed after 90 days if I didn’t give them my social security number.

I did this deal twice today! (limit was actually 2 on my card!) I went this morning got one and then activated it. Took it to cvs this afternoon, paid 4.95 cash and then scanned the first one to put the 150 on the 2nd card! Worked great. Got two sets of $50 ecbs total for 9.90 in activation fees. I then went to target and bought 150 worth of gift cards and cancelled both cards! Great deal thanks so much!

I’ve seen several people say that they did it twice- I only did once because my “offers” and “balance” spots on my receipt were just blank so I wasn’t sure it would work. I don’t think the referral codes are going to work. If you read the fine print, the person who uses it has to add money to their card after using the referral code. If they do that, you both get $5. Since the money is already loaded on the card, you’re not going to get the referral credit unless you load the card with more money.
This may have been answered more than once but…if the balance on my card is zero will I still be charged the maitanance fee?

CVS is also offering $100 GAP, Banana Republic and Old Navy gift card and get a $25 ECB. So if you get the $150 Paypal Mastercard, you could activated it and then use it to purchase the GAP card and end up spending $150 (plus activation fee) and get $75 in ECB’s!! I couldn’t find the Paypal cards so didn’t try it, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. (sorry if this was already posted- I didn’t take the time to look through all of the postings)

I got mine today! Activated it and then paid $150 on my cell phone bill before they could take out the $4.95 additional fee!
Im going to try it tomorrow in Philly. It saw it in my Weekly ad online. And I have a paypal account with a CC card swiper i can add the $150 to it then transfer it to my paypal buy making up a transaction. Then use the $50 rewards to buy xmas gifts.
It worked for me! I couldn’t figure out how to transfer it to Paypal, so I turned around and bought $150 in Amazon giftcards and closed the account immediately before there were deductions made on any sort of balance!

I rolled my first card to buy my second card (I have 2 CVS cards) with no problem. Silly manager told me I had to buy card with cash! Showed her that it works just fine with a credit card.
For those of you whose store is out of cards, I found Paypal cards at Family Dollar. I picked up three (1 extra for a friend) and went to CVS to activate!

Here is some info for those who don’t want to provide their SSN: you can call the number on the card & request “limited access”. I just did so, and then immediately went to Walmart to put $50 on a gift card and request $100 cash. I got the whole $150 back with no fees. (It’s been about 10 hours since I bought the card.)
With this option you can only use it in store (not online or by phone), but you can get cash back.
You might need to stand firm if the operator tells you that your only options are to tell him your full SSN or send it via email (please don’t give it to him/her!). I requested a supervisor, and he came back in a few minutes with the limited access option.
Is there a way to see upcoming CVS deals a few weeks ahead of time? Want to use my 50 ECB to stock up on diapers… I feel $10 for $50 worth of diapers at worse case scenario is a great deal!!!!! I did this deal last night and an extra $4.95 monthly fee was charged to my card before the 36 hours. Today I withdrawed $140 since the ATM could only do anchorments of $20. 7-elevens doesn’t charge a ATM fee as theses cards are accepted. Does anybody have ways to get the card to a perfect $0 balance so I cancel? And for those that have been charged the monthly fee..I recommend just keeping the card and cancel before the next monthly fee is charged as customer service is really heavy right now.
My easy way to get to a zero balance was to use the card at a gas pump with an outdoor debit/credit card reader. Because the card is prepaid, the card reader will query the system to determine the remaining balance and authorize your gas purchase up to but not to exceed the card’s remaining balance. So if you only have 5 cents left on the card, you will be authorized 5 cents worth of gas purchase. I know that sounds silly, but it gets the card to “0” perfectly. I’ve tried it with this card and it worked.

I just called and spoke to an operator to get “limited access”. I did not give my SSN, only my name. Now how is everyone else getting their PIN in order to go to Walmart, get a gift card, then get cash back?
Rachael, with the limited access option, you don’t need a pin – instead you select the “credit” option at checkout. Not sure if you can withdraw cash that way though. I would suggest you just buy a $150 giftcard somewhere and call it donzo.
Finally did it! I ended up going online, click activate card. It asked for the 16 digit card number and CID. Then it asked for a PIN. Whatever I entered, is what was accepted. That’s it. I wasn’t sure if “that was it” so I called the 800# again and the rep said the PIN was accepted. I went to Walmart and bought 1 $10 gift card and took out 100 cash. Then bought another $20 gift card and took out $20 cash leaving 0 on the card. Tomorrow, I will figure out how to close it.
