Hi Liz, if you log into your American Express account online there is a tab that says “Offers For You” (next to “Latest Transactions”). You can scroll through the offers and add the offers that you want to your card. I was surprised at how many are available!

Colin, the title of your post is misleading. The device is not $199 after gift card. It is $299 with a gift card that can be used for a FUTURE purchase. People have to go back to Best Buy and spend at least $100 in order to get the full value of the gift card. You’re not the only coupon/deals blogger to do your deal accounting this way, but it’s still wrong.
That was extremely rude. Collin does everything to help us, and really doesn’t need someone like this bashing her. If you don’t like a deal, simply read passed it and let everyone decide for themselves if it is worth doing or not.

I love Collin and this site, but I do agree somewhat. There is no need for the hostility, but I do not count 100 gift card for another purchase against the cost of the item I’m buying.
I am one that does not include gift cards, extra care bucks or register rewards as part of the total deal. I only count my out of pocket and anything else is a bonus. That being said, when Collin (or other deal sites-because most look at a deal this way) posts, I just keep in mind my total out of pocket before purchasing. I don’t know if you understand how time intensive it must be for Collin to pull these deals together for us, otherwise I don’t think you would have posted such a negative comment. Please remember this is the season for being thankful.
Maybe it’s just not for you…. It’s ok if someone needs to pass on a deal, just don’t pee in the punch for the rest of us.

I never did get an email saying that my order was ready for pick up today. I went to best buy to see the status of my order and it was still still hung up in the system. They told me I would only get mine if there were any left in store by they time my order came up. She suggested I cancel the online order and buy one off the floor. I did and got my gift card too. No need to wait for the gift card to ship to me.

I sync my Facebook to my Amex and it showed me offers to add. Added best buy spend 250 up save 25 dollars. Have to add offer first before buying.
If you have multiple cards on your account save the offer to each card and pay for the best buy purchase with multiple cards. I did this a couple weeks ago- spent $500, used my card $250, my husband’s for $250 and got $50 back!

I was able to snag this deal at 6am central. Good thing I check my emails before I get out of bed lol. I just got my confirmation in 732 am. I ordered black but not store pick up. My stores only had white and gray. I was a little scared since my order confirmation didn’t come right away.
I think maybe best buy online has a set inventory number because now black is unavailable for shipping.
I chose in-store pick-up and did not get an email confirmation of my order. I know they usually email you separately when it is ready to be picked up. I am wondering if I actually completed my order? Did anyone else get their email confirmation as soon as their order was placed?

I ordered around 9:05AM EST and have yet to receive my confirmation my item is ready for pickup but they did send me a “we received your order” confirmation email within mintues of placing the order.

I was told out of stock. It let me go through the whole check out process, and then said “We’re sorry! Due to high demand, the status of one or more of your items has changed. ” I guess I was a day late and a dollar short 🙂 Oh well, would have been an impulse buy anyway.

I got this in my email also but backed off because the email said these ipads are the first generation. I was told to stay away from first generation ipads. But how do I find out what generation ipads are? Most times online it won’t even tell you which one they are.
First generation iPads and first generation ipad mini’s are two different things. The iPad mini first generation is only last years model.

No, you can just hook it up with your internet at home. You can also hook it up to WiFi hot spots at places like, Starbucks or Kohl’s, Macy’s etc.

It has to be in stock online to be price matched, and it’s sold out. Also, most retailers like Target won’t price match gift card promos, just the actual price. Hth!

I ordered this about an hour ago and noticed my email confirmation included only the iPad, not the gift card… I confirmed during an hour long phone call that I *should* get the gift card, even though there’s no mention of it on my receipt or email. Friends’ emails show confirmation of it 🙁 I was told to call back in a few days and I’ll get a GC by email if it doesn’t show up. Makes me nervous! Just an FYI to watch those emails!
