Happy Friday: Using Kohl’s Cash to Help Others
Sent from reader, Mary:
Due to the awesome deals we got on Black Friday, my husband and I accrued $150 in Kohl’s cash! We were looking for a good way to spend it so we looked out to people in need. There is an Angel tree through our church, so we picked some needed things and purchased them with our Kohl’s cash! Were were able to get 2 Long-sleeve shirts, 9 pairs of socks, a sweater, 2 pairs of jeans, a Tonka truck, Nerf and extra darts for a little boy (everything that was on his wish list) and were also able to get a coffee pot for another family in need! What a great way to get in the Christmas Spirit! My husband, our new baby girl, and I had a blast shopping! Thanks for all the great deals you post! Merry Christmas!
HAPPY FRIDAY!

That’s fantastic!!!
Be humble…
Be humble?? I think it is a good idea to share… I hadn’t thought of using Kohls cash like that… Does it make you feel better to judge her for sharing?
It sometimes takes people talking about themselves to inspire others! Great job sharing your story and sharing with others.
Why oh why do some people feel that they can be rudewhile hiding behind a computer screen??? She and her family did a wonderful thing for people in need. What have you done??
Meg, I agree with you. If you can’t say something nice and be happy for other people don’t say anything.
Be nice…
Go pound sand.
She is just excited about giving. Way to go Mary!
How rude. What an angel she is and she is trying to inspire others to do the same. I loved her story and many others like it!
You are awesome.
That’s awesome!! 🙂 I love this time of year!!
Love it, that’s true Christmas spirit!
That’s awesome! Good for you! What a way to pay it forward!
wow yall are awesome, a great example to us and to your daughter as she grows, thank you
That is amazing that you are able and willing to give so much to a family in need! And thanks Collin for all the great deals that allow people to pay it forward. Best thing I’ve heard all day. 🙂
I agree!!
Love that you shared with others. I am glad Collin posted this so others can get the idea so share some of the great deals we get. We were able to pick more angels from our tree at church than usual because of the great deals we got from this site.
That’s so sweet love reading stories like this!!!!!
That was great and smart too!
How WONDERFUL!
wow what awesome people you are!
That is a great story!
Love this! so sweet and a good idea.
Stories like this are what truly makes holidays awesome. You have embraced the real spirit of Christmas and you should be proud!
We all should be looking for ways to give and there are so many ways to help whether time, service or donation. My husband usually takes care of the financial giving but when a Church friend put a decorated box in the narthex labeled for new underwear, socks or undershirts for the under privileged of our financially strapped county in Mi, I happily donated for both boys and girls. When asked by my husband why I picked to give clothes, my response was ” because our 4 beautiful granddaughters will never want for something as basic as underwear”.
I believe every woman in our Church felt the same way as that box was full and very heavy when it was taken away! Such a little thing and so little money but I had such fun buying those simple little packages. I pray that all Colin’s readers pay it forward in some way and I thank you Colin for saving us money that makes it easy for us to give back.
Very cool! Things like this help restore my faith in humanity, thanks for sharing 🙂
That was a really thoughtful thing to do! It’s so refreshing to hear stories like yours. Merry Christmas!
That’s great! It doesn’t look like $150kc went far though. I hate how jacked up the priced are.
Family20 gives you 20% off or if you spend over $100 after kc 25% with Family25.
That’s what I was thinking! I sure hope she didn’t pay 150 for that. The prices can get outrageous at kohls sometimes though if a sale isn’t going on.
You can’t apply the discount to Kohl’s cash. The register deducts the KC before is applies the discounts. Just FYI.
I agree, too bad the prices were so high… But still so, so good!! 🙂
That is awesome!! I gave my Kohl;s cash to a friend to help her out!! It is a season of giving!!
Awesome..godbless u..
Great idea!
That’s awesome!
I think it is great Mary has shared this with readers, with us! I pass my savings on to others as well, it is something everyone should think about doing. It puts a smile on my face to see the wonderful things others are doing for those less fortunate – this has been a rough year for many. God Bless Mary and others like her!
Awesome way to help others!
Dear Mary-
What a kind, considerate, selfless idea. With a new baby, i am sure there are a lot of things you could use $150 Kohls cash for, and yet, you chose to give to others in need. You and your family represent the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you for your generosity:)
Very well said!
inspiring 🙂
How awesome 😀
It was very nice of you to use your khol’s cash on other people instead of yourself. You are a very generous person. Happy holidays to you & your family. 🙂
Anyone have a $15 off $50 Sephora email they don’t want? I would love it!
Lanailartist@gmail.com
those are actually gift cards, you don;t have to spend $50, just so everyone knows.
Love it! There is nothing like the feeling of giving to others! Have a blessed Christmas everyone!
I hadn’t thought of doing this! Thank you for sharing and spreading this wonderful idea!
That’s a great idea of how to use kohls cash. I have bought toys with CVS ECB and Walgreens rr throughout the year and donate at Christmas time. Batteries are another thing that are appreciated this time of year.
Bummer that you can’t be there to see his face when he opens it all! He will be extra blessed because of you 🙂
What a wonderful thing to do Mary. This reminds us to help others. I would respond to the humble comment but it takes away from Mary and her husband’s good deed.
Yes I agree and wish I would have thought of something like that, I also accumilated more than enough kohls cash and wish I would have seen the post earlier because I would have done the same thing! Great idea and thanks for sharing, I am going to do this next year 🙂
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! It would have been so easy to get more presents for your family. Nice to know that your baby girl will grow up learning to help others!
Very generous and selfless of your family, stay blessed!!
This is what I do with my kohls cash throughout the year if there isn’t anything my family/house needs. I’ve gotten many items for .32 and .34 each. It piles up for toys for tots each year.
Hi, I have a code for 10 free photo cards from rite aid if anyone wants it post your email here. Does not include shipping but can do free store pick up. I won the code and don’t have a rite aid near me.
Hi Kim. I would love the rite aid photo code if you are not using it. My email is nddfamily@gmail.com. Thanks !
Perfect! I just sent the code! Merry Christmas!
That was so sweet of you Kim!
Great story! It is a wonderful feeling to help others. All to often we can get so busy only thinking of me and mine that we neglect ways we can be a help and a blessing to others. What a great story!
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for being so selfless. After hearing bad things that happen around the world EVERY SINGLE DAY, this warms my heart and restores my faith and inspires me to try even harder and changing this crazy world we love in. You’re the kind of people who make a difference. Hold on to that.
The true meaning of Christmas done perfectly. Thanks for sharing with us. That little boy will surely appreciate each and every item.
And this is why I follow your site. Thanks for all you do.
My sister and I are single mom’s but know others who need more than we do so we will be doing the same. My mother also works at kohls so we get a a great discount tonight in combination with night owl sales
We also have a giving tree at Church. When a certain store had that “price glitch”, were able to buy a lot of toys to give away. Hope everyone has a joyous and blessed Christmas.
You just made a little boy’s Christmas very special. Thanks for sharing your story – God Bless and Merry Christmas to you and your family. And Happy 1st (?) Christmas to your new baby girl!
I love hearing these stories! We adopted a single mom and her two girls at my job. I had a 30% off Kohls coupon. I was able to get shoes for both girls and two sets of towels for the mom for very little. Everyone wanted to know how I did it. Since then lots of people I work with have been Kohls shopping with codes, getting Kohls cash and then spending that on more for the family. Yesterday my colleague and I hit Bath and Body Works with the 30% off coupon for the mom and stocking stuffers for the girls. Plus we have been chasing grocery loss leaders the last couple of weeks too. It has been so much fun shopping and teaching people at work how to coupon (some of whom tend to roll their eyes at couponing normally)!!! Of course, best of all will be delivering an amazing Christmas to this family next week!
I am fundraising for our special Olympic athletes and my project Unify at my high school where we are trying to unite the student body with everyone including those with special needs. If you can please donate to my page. https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/GraceSaldana/posole-ole-fun-walk
Thank you so very much!!! 🙂
