I just want to give all you CVS shoppers a heads-up about a makeup and personal care clearance event that seems to be taking place in most CVS stores across the country! Keep your eyes peeled for the red 75% off stickers and yellow 50% off stickers (as pictured above and below) to snag some great savings on makeup products (and more!) from a variety of different brands (such as NYC, Neutrogena, Physician’s Formula, and more!)

This would be a great time to snatch up inexpensive stocking stuffers, gift basket filler items, or simply to refresh your cosmetic or personal care supply! In fact, check out a few of the emails and photos I’ve received…

[h2s_box]Right now at CVS, certain cosmetic brands (Revlon, Neutrogena, Covergirl, NYC, etc) are being marked down 50% or 75% off. Just look for the stickers! I bought several NYC lipsticks for as low as $0.49, CoverGirl lip tinted balms for as low as $1.25, Revlon age foundation for $3.25, and so much more! Not sure how long the deal is for though.

I found some great deals at CVS today. One store had them marked but not any left. I went to another and they were not marked, but did ring up at the sale price. Neutrogena Ultra Soft eye makeup removal pads 30 large Reg. $8.79 Sale $2.19, Burt’s Bees milk and shea body wash Reg. $7.99 Sale $1.99, Burt’s Bees Peppermint Foot Lotion Reg. $8.99 Sale 2.24!

I went to my CVS to do my weekly couponing and was super excited to see a bunch of makeup 50-75% off on clearance! I saved a ton of money on makeup! 🙂 There was a huge selection, on all brands, plus nail polish and nail care. Worth checking out!

I scored Opi and Sally Hanson polishes for under 2 bucks each! Hello stocking stuffers![/h2s_box]

(Thanks, Pamela, Allison, Sonya, Kim, Jenny, and all you readers who emailed!)

Nice thanks! Is there coupon that go with these?

    • tiara

the best deal was the neutrogena wave sonic it marked down to $4.24 and neutrogena has a $3 off coupon.

      • ashley

The red box was also printing out a 1.50 off neutrogena skincare coupon that i was able to use on the refills! Good deal 🙂

    • Shanshan

      Thanks for the replies. Lovely!

  2. Shawna B.

    I think they are pink and green stickers. (;

  3. Maryann

Wow. I really hope my CVS has these left tomorrow when we get paid. My teen has a huge group of friends who are just getting into the nail polishes and makeup basics. It would be fun to make each one a little basics kit with clear and sparkly polishes, lip gloss, files, etc.

    • jenn

really cute idea for middle or high school aged girls.:D

    • Bri

I hope some are left for you. That sounds like a great gift

    • guest1

I just wanted to tell you that this sale, at least in my area, has been going on for several weeks now – my local cvs stores were pretty cleared out already, but I did find some great nail polishes and a few lipglosses.

  4. Rebe

This has been going on for several weeks. I learned about it on a CVS facebook page. I got so much make-up and beauty items quite cheap with manufacturer coupons and CVS coupons combined. Nice deals and worth the trips. I went to the CVS by my house and my job. They both had great clearance items! My sister knows I coupon and asked for make-up for Christmas. Win! Win!

    • Kim

Kinda off topic but since you mentioned your sister asking because you coupon… I recently had a family member tell me what they wanted for Christmas (beauty/toiletry items) “If I could get them free or cheap.” Then a few days later sent me a link to a $50 item and said “this is what I want for my real present”… How do I explain that although I get good deals because I coupon that it takes a lot of time, planning, clipping and printing coupons, plus driving to the store? It might be cheap but I think it IS a present if I buy you something that you would have spent 20-50 dollars on anyway if I didn’t give it to you…idk I guess non couponers don’t get what goes into it

      • Jessica R.

WOW! So because you spent less $ you should buy more? My husband told me on his birthday that since one of his gifts that sells for $100 was on sale for $15 that surely he is worth more. I don’t take that seriously since he hasn’t been excited about our house looking like an amazon warehouse. Who is your relative? You could just give them $20 & let them see how far that doesn’t get them.

        • Kim

It’s my sister in law (my husbands sister.) I’ve made her huge gift baskets “just because” twice this year already. So I guess she doesn’t think it’s really a present. Yet she only buys no name shampoo/conditioner/body wash because “it’s cheaper.” So you’d think she would appreciate the “good” stuff. :/

          • Yes indeed

It sucks when people are so ungrateful. ..I would definitely appreciate a basket of anything! … taking kindness for granted!

            • Ana

As horrible as it sounds, I’ve gotten stingy with the stuff I get through couponing. I, too, have had family members think that it’s a free-for-all because I got it free/almost free. Like my time, gas, and newspapers don’t’t cost a thing….pshsss. Yeah, uh, no.

      • Bri

That’s super rude of them! Tell them there’s not any good deals on that at this time and buy what you originally intended.

        • Kim

If you wanna hear something even worse… My husbands birthday is in August and his sisters a few weeks later… She didn’t buy him a present this year and when he confronted her about it she said “what does it matter? Kim’s gonna coupon and barely pay for my present anyway!” I was livid!

          • Melissa

That’s horrible! I really don’t understand how the amount we pay for an item somehow diminishes it’s value. Whether we paid $50 full price or get it for half that using coupons shouldn’t matter to the recipient. The item is still valued at the $50, is it not? I am sorry this happens. If they can’t appreciate a “gift”, that’s their problem. We have obviously put in a lot of thought and effort into it and it they don’t see that, they don’t deserve it. I wish all of you wonderful people have a happy holidays. 🙂

            • irene

The best policy is to not let people know you get things for cheap. That way, they’ll appreciate it more!

            • Kim

I don’t even “let them know” they just assume. I could pay full price for everything I bought her and she will still say “oh let me guess this was free…” It’s hard to hide you coupon when you ask someone to grab you more laundry detergent out of the cabinet and there’s 12 bottles in there 😉 lol

          • guest1

What? I would be so grateful that I got ANYTHING.. free shampoo.. toilet paper for cheap.. I’m all for it girl! Who cares if it was “free” or cheap?? I cannot believe someone would say that to you. I would just stop giving her things.. maybe that’s harsh, but if she doesn’t appreciate your time and effort into giving her something, then she doesn’t deserve it. When she runs out of shampoo and has greasy hair for the day, maybe then she will think twice about poo-pooing your sweet gifts!

            • SherryB

              AMEN!!!

      • Stephanie

Its very annoying when relatives do this. I just stop giving them stuff. Have fun paying retail! 🙂

      • Karen

Sometimes I would rather donate the extra things I get instead of giving it to relatives that don’t appreciate it because they know we got it for free or close to free and it seems like they think we just run in to a store and pick it up free w/o any work to it. I usually give my sons teen sister a basket for xmas but she commented at a dinner out once that she didn’t care if I got her anything because it’s just deodorant, shampoo and make up stuff anyway and she’d rather buy her own…well, this year she can buy her own!

        • Bri

You should be in my fam! We’ll buy each other great gifts at cheap prices and then tell the gift giver (another family member). They get more excited by the deal then the gift (((hugs))) sorry your fam is entitled

      • Kim

I’m glad other couponers understand my frustration. I kinda freaked on hubby for her being so rude and said “I guess now she gets nothing!” Lol I bought her a bracelet (that was on clearance! Haha) that I knew she wanted a while ago and a lotion for babw on Black Friday. She’ll never know what I spent and I can give my couponing stuff to people who appreciate it! I’m glad I posted this here! I thought about emailing Collin for an answer but this was super fast with great responses 🙂

      • Jenn

I wouldn’t bother trying to explain yourself. What you have done for her is really kind and generous and does not require explanation. When my sister in-law could not even muster a simple thank you for clothing her child for for the first 6 years of his life I decided to donate the items to charity. There are many women in battered women’s shelters who would absolutely appreciate a basket of beauty products. You can give your family member a card for Christmas informing them a charitable donation has been made in their name.

        • Rebecca

That is a fantastic idea, Jenn!!!

        • Nikki

BEST idea Jenn! Give it to women that will really appreciate it and need it. They won’t care what you paid for it. Then give your sister-in-law a card saying you made a charitable donation in her name. So going to do this!

        • Thia

There you go Jen! That’s the best thing said on this post! And you are one hundred percent correct on that fact! Every city has a place for these abused and neglected women – there really isn’t any reason we shouldn’t give to them. They are our sisters!

        • Shanshan

          LOL love the charity idea!

      • Melissa

We couponers can be pretty evangelistic about couponing. We are excited and want to share the “good news”. But i have concluded more often than not that most people are simply not interested in our good news, even people who could really benefit from a way to stretch their dollars. When it comes to gift giving, I think it is often best to keep it to ourselves so that our gifts are not devalued by people who only see value in a gift that you spent a lot of money on.

        • Yes indeed

I’m definitely in the beginning stages of couponing. .. no stock pile yet but determined to find a way to help my purse not be soo empty. . But I have found what you said to be true. ..I try sharing what I’m learning. … and with people who could benefit but they don’t care. .. then the next day ask for toilet paper :/
          I don’t get it!

          • SherryB

That’s because people are LAZY! They want everything handed to them and don’t want to work for it. Couponing IS WORK!! I’ve been where you are, It’s easy to get excited when you’re starting out & seeing how much money you can save – you want to tell EVERYONE! Just be careful not to enable them by giving them your free or cheap things. You think, “Oh this only cost a dollar, or 50 cents…. I’ll bless them with it.” NO. Instead, let them know that you will be glad to share your KNOWLEDGE but your free stuff stays on YOUR shelf. Now if they join the bandwagon and start couponing & saving with you – that’s another story. But don’t let them sit back and watch you do all the work and they get to reap the benefits! Been there. Done that. Got the free t-shirt. 😉

      • Conswalla

Hello Kim. I’m sorry to hear about your situation but it’s not unusual for couponers. My situation is a bite unique. I don’t advertise on social media that I coupon. I coupon because I like the thrill of getting great buys for pennies on the dollar. As far as my sister, she visited last summer, went in my basement and about had a heart attack. She left with so much stuff and the biggest smile. When I asked her what she wanted for Christmas, she said, ‘make-up” and knew the exact make-up because of what she grabbed last summer.

As for your family member, it’s not about what SHE wants, it’s about what you can AFFORD. People get too wrapped up with what they want. They forget about other people and their budgets, etc. Don’t stress. Just do what you feel is right. Happy Holidays. ^__^

      • Sonya

The only thing worse that ungrateful people is ungrateful people who are family. Do not concern yourself. There’s a difference between being thrifty and being stingy. Thrifty sees an expensive item on sale, uses coupons, and saves money. Stingy just buys whatever is cheapest, regardless of whoever is receiving the gift.

Just think, when you reach retirement, you’ll still have money in the bank to enjoy the rest of you life in ease because you know how to save and live below your means. The rest of your ungrateful relatives can look at all of the “stuff” they’ve purchased over the years while they try to figure out how to pay for bills…

        • irene

          “like!”

          • Amanda

Irene, this made me laugh out loud! Sonya, I 100% agree with you! You can’t help people who don’t want help and only want handouts.

  7. sherry

my rite aid had sally Hansen products 75% off and they I got the $5 up reward for buying $15 worth, my mom also found the same deal at her rite aid!

  8. Dmbajwa

Watch out for the expiration dates of more expensive skin care items

    • Lauren G.

I use creams that have expired after one year and still find them good. Although I would not give it as a gift, only for myself.

  9. Alicia

I just received 20% off for in-store use! Just something to keep an eye out for it!

    • Tia

It’s probably only for non-sale items.

      • Thia

Yep, just got an email from CVS – for reg. price only, but hey it’s 20% plus coupons! 🙂

  10. Rachel

I know what you mean! I have some people who think you have to spend x amount per person, like if I paid ten for one person and 9.50 for the other, than I “owe” that person 50 cents in gifts, even if the gifts are the same value. I’ve learned the hard way not to tell my family how much I saved on their gift but to rather tell them how little I was going to be able to afford to give them untill I found some good deals on “extra” items to add to their original small gift. I get them all used to the idea that they were all going to get something small and by the grace of the couponing gods, I was able to get them each “extras”. But I never tell them how much I spent and saved. Just say you got a “good deal ” and emphasize the increased size of the gift not the decreased size of the money out of pocket. I will admit one year I did take a break from coupons and they were all a little sad to see what full retail meant in terms of gift size 🙂

    • Rebecca

      Another brilliant response!!!

    • Melissa

re: by the grace of the couponing gods

      I like your approach!

  11. amy

Can you tell me what this is about? Thanks

  12. Samantha

What are some good coupons I should bring with me?

    • Thia

All of them! Girl, don’t you have a coupon book? I made mine with small three ring binder, I put a thick sheet of cardstock into a quart size freezer Ziploc bag and punched three holes. I labeled both sides: Hair, make-up, his toiletries, my toiletries. The ziplock bag is great because you can zip it close and fit your whole hand inside. I have sixteen ziplock bags and because I use both sides – I get thirty two pages to put all my coupons!
The smaller three ring binder fits perfectly inside the infant seat of a shopping cart.

  13. christi

Thank you ! tons of stuff on sale, I got a lot of items for my daughters stockings. Saved over $123 🙂

  14. Kristina

Just went and bought a ton of great stocking stuffers for my daughter and some really nice facial products for myself. I used the $50 ECB from thanksgiving day sale so everything was free!

  15. Mia

Since we’re talking presents, I have a questions about gift sets. Can you use coupons on them? For exams Gillette or Axe? Could a $3 of Fusion razor coupon be used on the gift set? Thank you!

  16. Vishnu

Revolon lip was on clearance 2.37-2$ coupon= 37 cents, plus 23 cents back in beauty bucks, 15 cents final.

    • Jojo

A lot of them ran up 1.99 for me n then the 2 dollar off coupon it came out free

  17. She

I’ve gotten a few CVS and RiteAid health/ beauty hauls. The Revlon, Almay, Covergirl, got2b, and other coupons made the hunt even better. lol I actually just came back from another CVS and found Physician’s Formula (Sexy Booster). They didn’t scan at 75% off but the clerk pushed it through. There were peelies on them but some heartless soul took them off.

    • worrell

i know how you feel. i bought baby formula and found out the coupons inside the tubs was taken. so mad

  18. Jojo

  19. She

BTW I saw a tag for a mini Katy Perry fragrance marked 75% off. No bottles left. I might try my back up CVS tomorrow. Those little bottles are cute as stocking stuffers….or to add to your perfume collection 🙂

    • Thia

      Does is smell good?

  20. Mariel

Anyone in southern CA see these deals? The sales seem to trickle to our area slowly

    • Bailey

i live in orange county and was able to get these deals, but they weren’t marked so i had to scan everything

  21. Dayna

There is a makeup website called Nouveau Cheap. She has a HUGE list of everything currently on clearance at CVS (also at Rite Aid & Walgreens as well). This is a tremendous help because even though items may not have a sticker, it helps to take them to the scanner to see if they show up as being clearenced. I looked at the list and decided what products I might want to buy and then checked to see if there were any corresponding coupons. I then printed out the whole list and dashed off to the store to see what I could score! (Hey that rhymed!) I got about $75 worth of products for around $22!! Remember that the full price goes towards beauty club bucks.

    • Melissa

Thanks for the name of the makeup website. I went to a CVS yesterday that didn’t have any makeup marked on clearance. This will help went I go back.

    • Karen

Thank you Dayna, that was super helpful! Two of our local cvs’ don’t have any physician’s formula (my brand) marked. Also learned that I can get another wave for less than $2- thanks again for sharing!

  22. Emonte

I picked up several great deals because of the posting! The deals included cvs brand lotion 18 oz size at .74 cents, clean & clear 16 oz body at $1.57, and moisture twist prime/lip gloss at $1.25. Totally savings was $24.65 and said I saved 59%.

  23. edy

My cvs in Houston,tx has been marking evrything down, finally, finished yesterday lumene smAll clear plastic bag with a few lumene products clearance too.

  24. edy

My cvs in Houston,tx has been marking evrything down, finally, finished yesterday lumene smAll clear plastic bag with a few lumene products clearance too.

  25. shaun

Thanks so much! Went to CVS today, saw very few 75%off stickers, and mostly 50%off stickers. I think couponers been through the store already:[ Was looking to use my Revlon -$2Qs. Got Revlon mineral nude glaze @75% = .39(after -$2Q). This was the only Revlon lip product on sale, boo. I was disappointed, lol and somehow picked up WetNWild nail polishes @50% for .99 for stocking stuffers. Err, I really hope the nail polishes are worth .99 …o_0…..

  26. Jo

Don’t forget shampoo and conditioner!! Picked up 4 big (25.4 oz) bottles of Pantene for $2.96!! Each were on sale for $1.74, used (2) $2.00/2 from coupons.com 🙂
