Sent from reader, Amy:

Hi Collin! I wanted to share this photo with you. Over the summer my husband was hit by a drunk driver. He broke is leg and all of his toes. We lost our car and our only source of income because he was not able to work for 4 months. As you can imagine, we were stressed! He is back to work and things are slowly getting back to normal. Today as I was walking down my driveway, I saw this! I feel like it was a symbol for me to relax, slow down and stop worrying. A symbol that everything was going to work out just fine. I thought it was beautiful!

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Do you have a funny, “Hip”, or unique photo to share?! Email us at happyfriday@hip2save(dot)com. A Beautiful Sign! God Bless You & Your Family. I just wanted to add a little food for thought: Being alive and with your loved ones, not only through the holidays but each and every day means more then any gift given or received because that is the ultimate gift!! LIFE and sharing that life with family and friends. I am sharing this because just 6 months ago I got diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer that has spread and didn’t know if I would still be here this xmas but thankfully god has blessed me and my family with 1 more xmas together. I am fighting the good fight with much support from my amazing family/friends/doctors and God! God has touched with many miracles and I hope to be here for more xmas’ to come but I cherish each day like it is xmas! God Bless the Hip2save community and all your loved ones! “Merry Christmas Everyone”

Sandra, thank for you beautiful perspective and positivity in light of your serious illness. You have immeasurable amounts of strength and faith. I too have been fighting with illness for over a year, and now they suspect cancer. Thank you for giving me a bright light tonight. I wish you wellness and peace. My family is my strength as is yours. I have many blessings, and even when things seem bleak I hold up my head an put one foot in front of the other. We all have these blessings. Best gifts ever.

      • Sandra

Wendy: Stay strong and never lose hope or faith! You and your family are in my prayers. It is important to stay positive even when it is hard to do because that positive thinking and attitude is not only healing to you but your family. ( I practice this each day and when I am getting my chemo I reach out to those around me and try to bring them strength and support and encourage them to stay positive, even through their fears) Wendy have a beautiful Christmas with your family and friends and keep putting that one foot in front of the other girl! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

As a disabled Viet Vet, senior citizen, and widower, I’ve learned that nothing is worth risking a heart attack or stroke over, you still have each other to travel life’s road together, no matter what condition either of you are in. None of us knows what lies ahead of any of us, but with the right travel partner, you learn with age, that one can face anything, life throws at us. Happy Holidays, and best wishes to you and yours for a Happy & Healthy New Year.

    • cara

Thank you for your service Mark. My Dad’s a Vietnam Veteran too. Hope you have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

    • Wendy R

      Mark,
Thank you for your service, and I’m sorry for your loss. Everything works itself out, even the bad. Finding peace in the smallest of blessings, gives us hope and strength. We have to make the most with the time were given! Happy holidays…Wendy

  29. tracy

Luckily that was the only thing that happened to him.Everyone probably has a story where they knew someone who didnt make it after a crash. Wishing all hip2save readers a wonderful holiday and a start to a better new year!

    • Amy

Absolutely! That day could have been the worst day of my life! Especially because he was hit head on going 60mph! In someways it was a blessing. We are getting back to what Christmas is all about. Giving to others and spending quality time with family.

      • tracy

When something bad happens to a person you love it makes you realize that the little annoying things that someone does and stupid arguments were just that. Stupid. You’re significant other is the best person you can have In your life and you need to make the most of the time you have with them

  30. Miranda

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing Amy. I wish your family the best.

  31. Laura

A sign from God for sure. They are all around if we just take the time to notice them. So happy for you that you did. Agree that you should frame this picture (maybe with a Wag’s 8×10 coupon, lol!) as a memory of this time in your life. Merry Christmas to you!

  32. Wendy R

Amy I also have a couple of small gifts cards I can share with you too. I am grateful your husband is healing. A godwink..he’s meant to be here. Even though Christmas is about larger and more important things, it is for children. I have three, and they understand but they look forward. Send me your address..god bless..wrafferty442 (at) gmail dot com

  33. maysie

I love that you saw this as a sign. I think the universe sends them to us if we’re looking. What great encouragement. Your spirit of faith and gratitude warms my heart. Happy holidays to you and your family!

  36. Sue

    Amy,
I had an ex that cheated on me. I seen a cross in the sky over the lake. It was so so so big I knew God was with me. I asked my daughter to come look cause I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, she was amazed. My mother that lived maybe 8 houses away looked out on the lake and never seen that same cross in the moon. I knew it was a sign from God. I had to leave that beautiful house on the lake. I even had to go to the food bank for awhile. I guess my point is God does send you signs and I’m so happy you seen it!!!
    Best Wishes to you.

  37. crystal@Atlanta

Hi Amy Dear. I’ve quite literally been down in the dumps(ter) when times were really tough. But with the love of your husband, you will persevere and one day you will look back at these times and be proud of the strong woman who stayed positive for her family. 48. Queenmum

Beautiful!! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  49. tilla ham

so sorry for what your husband has gone through…why isn’t insurance paying and supporting you guys? the drunk persons insurance and or yours? I pay 200 a month for car insurance and it seems like such a waste if they aren’t going to help you when you actually need it

    • TAmi

Yes I concur! Amy please follow up with your insurance company and be sure to fight with a lawyer. I am not one to suggest suing but, in cases like this when the driver was drunk and obviously wrong you have rights! I know this because we went thru this with my Dad in 1997 when he was hit by a drunk driver and was paralyzed! Praying for you!!!

      • Sara

My sister in law was hit by a drunk driver a few years ago. He had no insurance and she successfully sued him but he has no job and no money. He was in jail for awhile but she has hardly seen any money.

  50. Annie

Thank you for sharing. Never give up hope, With faith all things are possible. I, too am going through some tough times. My sister just finished up chemo for ovarian cancer. My dad is very sick in the hospital. Myself, I have been going through nerve damage for years now. I keep on keeping on. Just have to. Merry Christmas to all!!!
