Can I reload my card and get the $10 eGift card?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I am assuming that this excludes reloading your card as it excludes the purchase of Starbucks Gift Cards. The fine print states that you must spend the $50 on food, beverages and retail merchandise.

  2. Rachel

Does anybody know if this would include loading your card?

  3. Laura

I received the starbucks email today. This was the fine print at the bottom:

This offer is personal to the email address affiliated with this Starbucks account.

Must pay with your registered Starbucks Card. Starbucks Card eGift will be delivered by January 9, 2014. Limit one offer per customer. Purchases of Starbucks Cards excluded for eGift. No balance transfers to be eligible for eGift. Eligible purchases are only on beverages, food and retail merchandise.

I reloaded my card with $50 yesterday and bought gift cards. Bummer! I even asked if there were any deals going and she said no. 🙁

    • Meggs

Just read gift cards are excluded.

  5. julie

Darn! Just bought a bunch of them last night!

    • julie

Looks like gift cards are excluded.

This really seems to only make sense if you are purchasing Christmas gifts at the Starbucks store, such as bags of coffee, mugs, etc. Unless you are treating the whole office to coffee and lunch. 😉

A week and a half to spend $50… not likely to happen for me, but signed up just in case!

Got two cards as suggested in other comments posted. I didn’t get the offer for my gold card but it came for the newer rarely used card. But now I got the deal for a gift:) I use the second for my son to get his treats so he feels all independent(his card).

Off topic question about Starbucks. I earned my gold card and it is valid through October 2014. Since I have earned it I earned another 40 or so stars will that push my date out to October 2015 or will they make me start over in October 2014?

    • Laura

Darin, sadly you will have to start over.

    • Suszy

I have the same situation and it says that I am good for another year as gold status. I would call customer service and see if this applies to yourself as well.

    Would this include Teavana locations??

Thinking about buying some merchandise then returning later?

    • Katrina

Seems like a hassle for $10. Your time and gas are worth something, too.

    • April6677

that’s stealing, if before you buy something you know you will return it just for getting a complimentary gift. come on, you are better than that.

      • Katrina

I’m glad you said it, April. I had typed out a long response about it not being fair to the retailer and how it’s theft, but decided to bite my tongue. I agree with you 100%!

        • ~jenn~

A lot of companies these days have it set up to where you can’t do that. I used to work in retail. If you use the card and then try to return the merchandise, they will deduct the amount of the card from your return. If you say you don’t have the card so you can try to use it later, they’ll just void the card.

          • siubhan

I spend hundreds of dollars at Starbucks throughout the year, so the stealing comment is a bit much. I would end up using the gift card on coffee but just to use later.
