OMG! Lace up those running shoes and get your butt over to Rite Aid (if you live near one). I’ve received a few emails from readers this morning and last night regarding some amazing clearance deals on Tide products. After reading those emails, I headed out the door with my Tide coupons in tow.

I am so excited to let you all know that these clearance bargains were available at my Rite Aid in the Boise, Idaho area and what was even more exciting, the shelves were completely stocked! I am assuming this is due to the fact that the Tide powder detergents (at least at my Rite Aid) were not marked on clearance, so really the only way you’d know about this is by reading this really cool site called Hip2Save! 😉

So here are the clearance bargains to keep your eyes peeled for:

Ultra Tide powder detergent 40 loads, original or mountain Spring on clearance for $2.87 (Reg. $11.49!!)
(And be on the lookout for boxes with $4 worth of coupons inside!)
Plus, use the $2/1 Tide detergent coupon found in the 12/1 PG (Exp. 12/31!)
OR use the $1.50/1 or $3/2 Tide coupon found in the 12/29 PG
OR use the $1.50/2 Tide detergent or Tide Boost coupon found here
OR use the $0.50/1 Tide Laundry Detergent coupon found here
Final cost as low as only $0.87! WOW!

Tide Boost Vivid White 21.7 oz bags on clearance for $2.49 (Reg. $9.99!!)
Plus, use the $2/1 Tide detergent coupon found in the 12/1 PG (Exp. 12/31!)
OR use the $1.50/1 or $3/2 Tide coupon found in the 12/29 PG
OR use the $1.50/2 Tide detergent or Tide Boost coupon found here
OR use the $1/1 Tide Boost coupon found here
Final cost as low as only $0.49!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to price check these items if they are not marked. At my local store, the Tide Powder detergents were marked at the regular price of $11.49 and there was no mention that these were actually on clearance anywhere… but by price checking, I saw the HUGE price reduction.

Doesn’t deal shopping ROCK?! 😀

(Thanks, Mrs. Carey & She!)

  2. Kristen

“get your butt over to rite aid”
I can tell someone is excited!!!!! 😊😊

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I am…. I want to scream about this deal on my rooftop. 😉

      • Jessika

Rotf! Lmao! Omg this is just beyond hilarious. Sometimes the way I feel. Thanks for making my day:)

      • Kristen

Haha! Well, I would too.. If I had a close rite aid 😉

      • Sarah

This was a funny post – thanks for the laugh

  3. Katherine

wow, amazing deal! Not even close to a Rite Aid, darn!! Good luck to all those who are able to snag up this great buy!

  4. T

Is it only the powder tide thats marked down or are the liquid also? Can anyone verify??

    • 78Brownie

      Only powder

  5. Lisa

Sorry if this is a silly question but how do you price check? Is there one of those scanners similar to what Target has or do you have to take it to the cashier? Thank you!

    • T

My store doesnt have scanners like Target 🙁 I often dont price check at rite aid as there are always lines and I feel like Im holding everyone up just to check a price on a few things..wish theyd get price checkers!

    • Conswalla

Rite Aid’s don’t have scanners. The cashier’s have to price check it for you and some of them are not so nice at my Rite Aid. I guess this is why I shop at CVS and goodness knows I DO NOT shop at Walgreen’s. I would go to Rite Aid for this great deal but I’m sure the shelves will be cleared by the time I leave work at 4:00. Good Luck and Happy Shopping. ^_^

      • terri

My rite aid has a scanner.

        • Conswalla

Ok… I should say, my Rite Aid doesn’t have a scanner.

          • Lisa

            Thank you!

  6. Jodi

Like always one person cleaned all the stores. Starting to even wonder if I want to coupon next year.

    • Katie

Have faith. Are you sure it was one person?

    • candy

it’s your loss if you don’t

    • Brandy

I understand Jodi, believe me. There are two people in particular at my walgreens that always clean the shelves on a good deal. Makes me wanna scream.

  7. Jessika

Not to ruin the post, but not sure where to put this….if anyone has a $10 off victoria secret code they wont be using I would like one. Thanks in advance jromero8680 @ gmail

  8. Renee

I don’t use Tide, but my mother-in-law does. She was on her way out to run errands so she’s going to make Rite Aid her first stop. I hope she gets the deal.

  9. paintfrog

Aw… My rite aid didn’t have any HE variety left. They had a bunch of the Tide Vivid that is just for standard machines. :/ Great price, but not for my machine.

  10. Nancy

I went soon as they opened this morning could only get 4 boxes a guy in front of me took 10 boxes!!!!!

    • Katie

I hate it when that happens. I would have said something! Then again I am not afraid to any more, lol.

      • lee

what would you say. “hey i wanted those its not fair you got them first.” clearance is clearance just like the christmas stuff on clearance you can get it now for 50% off or wait another week or two and get whats left for 75% off. but dont get mad because someone bought them before you did, its clearance.

    • Jess

So you wanted 10 and the guy in front of you got them instead??

      • nicole

        Lol

      • Kidsallgone

        Hahahahahahah whoops

      • candy

        hahaha

  11. Mrs.carey

Your welcome Collin thanks for the shot out woo-woo when I saw these yesterday at rite aid I felt like I was on supermarket sweep… Luckily, I was showing my friend how to coupon so she stood guard while I ran to get a cart lol …. I think that will be an experience she’ll never forget 😉

    • Katie

And did you clear the shelf and show her what NOT to do?

      • Mrs.carey

There were only 10 I got 4 because of the policy and she got 4 🙂

      • Tia

        First come first served

  12. Kristin

Called my store she said all stores in town were sold out yesterday morning.

  13. 78Brownie

I heard about this deal about a quarter after 8. Our store closes at 8 on Sunday! So…I got my coupons in order and called it a night. I got to RiteAid a little after opening. The boxes were unmarked and stocked. I purchased some for my mother, RMHOC, and myself! https://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2yv524n&s=5#.UsGjZ_RDu50

    • Katie

      And cleared the shelf right?

      • 78Brownie

Why? :/ No, I actually didn’t and try not to worry about what I’m doing.

        • Jess

She Has Like 8 Really? How Is That Shelf Clearing….Be Nice.

          • Sabby

Well if there’s 8 left on a shelf that’s clearing… So it makes no sense to me why people ask about shelf clearing there could be only one left and you take it so you cleared the shelf????dumb!

            • Rebecca

              Love your comment…

      • Becky

        A totally unnecessary comment!

        • Katie

It can be very neccessary in some circumstances. My pet peeve is those that are inconsiderate. I am not accusing this person of being so, but I feel it is very important to talk about NOT shelf clearing for those new to couponing or deal scouting.

We need to be mindful for those coming in behind us or reading these posts. I did not mean to come across rudely, thought it could be perceived that way yes. I remember being very new to this and being tempted to shelf clear, but I thought about that family coming in behind me that might night have enough money to buy these things as often as they need. I do not want that on my conscience.

          • makaylaisabel

This will always be a constant argument in using coupons. What do you consider shelf clearing, etc. A deal is a deal. If there are four left and I have coupons and I want four, then I’m getting four. I don’t have to be nice to the person behind me unless I choose to be and being nice is another topic. They could’ve gone earlier or go to another store etc. Clearance and markdowns are also there for people to take not to sit there and smile and hand them to the next person. Just ridiculous. I personally feel first come first served. What’s the difference between buying the last eight or the last two… you still cleared the shelf 😉

            • Yvonne

You are 100% right. During the Black Friday sales at Walgreens, they had the revlon red hair brushes for .49 cents and some lady took at 15 of them and I told my friend lets go see the other store and the lady nicely took out 2 from her basket for each of us.

          • nicole

I agree that shelf clearing is wrong but not everyone is worried about the next person. I think it’s important to mention it but people in the end are going to do what they want to do. They will always justify shelf clearing no matter what anyone says and hopefully you make it to the store before they do.

          • Becky

To each his own! I think most of us know it’s inconsiderate to clear shelves. We don’t know everyones circumstances and I don’t think it’s anyones business how many were left on the shelf.

            • Sarah

The phrase shelf clearing implies someone is taking an unreasonable amount. If there are five boxes (wishful thinking), it doesn’t seem unreasonable for one household to purchase them, although it’s a bummer, yes. It’s all relative, speaking of which, maybe they are also buying for a family member or friend…I’d love to have that sometimes!

            • tilla ham

it’s very easy to shelf clear at a drug store because they have a small stock, you have no idea anyone’s family size, finances or need. my feeling is it’s none of your business how many any other person buys be it 4 or 40…would I like some on the shelf when I get there? yes, of course! I am going to whine scream moan and complain that I was too slow, no, I am not.

      • candy

Katie, be a sport and keep it classy.

        • erica

Really?! Clearing a shelf at Rite Aid is one or two items typically. It’s detergent. The person who comes behind you, may be disappointed, but they also may score the next deal which you will not. Life is not always fair. Basic human needs include food and shelter, not Tide laundry detergent 🙂

          • candy

Hahha! Amen to that, Erica! Apparently, some needs to get dramatic over a missed Tide detergent! LOL!

  14. Mayra

I don’t have the coupone in front of me but doesnt the PG coupon state 4 limit per day? so if that was the case wouldn’t 4 be the max amount you could buy technically? obviously still an AWESOME deal with the other Q’s!

  15. Annie1025MW

Thank you for the code!! I had let mine expire!

  16. Karen

Maybe we all should get jobs at these stores 🙂 I’m so lazy, I’m gonna pass, last time a ran out on one of these deals, everything was gone, such a waste of gas 😮 It’s being at the right place at the right time. Happy New year all.

    • She

Happy New Year! I know how you feel. CVS isn’t as close to me as RiteAid so I tend to miss a lot of those deals. Hopefully there will be some left for you tomorrow or you find a sweet enough deal to feel you’re not missing much? 😉

  17. Jodi

I have been doing coupons for a long time. I only take two or what it take to make my deal. Then I tell a few others. Let’s stop being greedy

    • Katie

I agree! It sickens me when I see some one clearing the shelf or others posting their photos with WAYYY more than needed. So sad, they should be ashamed of themselves.

      • Rebecca

How do you know what WAYYYY too much is???? Not everyone has the same size family/needs. My daughter and I will not use as much detergent as my neighbor who has a family of 10… You just don’t know what each individuals situation is. Unfortunately, it’s not fun when the shelves are empty but it is part of the game.

        • Jane

I think the assumption comes from E.C. from TLC. I speak of the participants who have 100 tubes of toothpaste for a family for 3. There are those who buy for the rush, not the need. I am not surprised to see the shelves cleared so quick in this economy. As the economy remains in a depressive like state, deal hunting will become more aggressive.

I have several of the Sears 125 load powder detergent for $2 from all the free $5 in points they offered over the last few months.

          • Yvonne

When I can i do clear shelves even though its just two in my household but, I usually grab an item or two from what I buy and give the rest to my family in another country. Is it wrong??? I don’t think so because I know that they will be using it and waiting for me to take more because they can only afford. Food.

        • Mrs.carey

          Amen Rebecca 😉

      • mel

But you don’t know their circumstances! So how do you know they bought WAYYY more than needed? If I find a good deal, I scoop up what my family might use in a year, so if its the last 6 boxes of Tide, well so be it. (although 6 boxes won’t last but maybe 3 months!!) What difference does it make if I buy 4 and leave 2… doesn’t that make the person who snags the last 2 a shelf clearer?

  18. Sonya

Oh shoot, I’m at work right now. I’m tempted to leave early! 🙂

I pray some are left when I get home. Wish me luck!

  19. Amy

The store I went to was sold out. Good luck to everyone on getting this great deal!

  20. Vy

We dont have a Rite Aid in texas…T_T Very sad when I see this deal and cant jump on it.

  21. Olivia Douglass

I hope to snag a few boxes on my way home. 🙂 I am at work… but if I miss the deal it will all be okay. Thanks for posting.

  22. brandice

None.in Atlanta at corner of Memorial and Candler road 🙁

  23. Mer

Am I the only one that feels it’s not clearing the shelf if it’s on clearance?? The store wants it gone. That’s why they clearance it….

    • Katie

I get it if there are a few items, but buying 10 or more is just cruel. Think about that family that cannot afford many things, even detergent. They could afford this deal, but if you clear the shelf by buying more than say….4 of an item, and they came in behind you and got none well…that is very wrong.

      • Tia

Katie – get a grip! We get your opinion. A lot of people don’t agree with you and you’re not going to change minds by posting the same thing multiple times. If I want 10 and there is 10, I’m taking 10. Period.

      • 78Brownie

Oh I get it. LOL You know who is purchasing for what, the size of a persons family, and their financial situation is…. Mmmmk Seems legit

      • Kristen

How about we make a New Years resolution on hip2save? GET ALONG IN THE COMMENTS! If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all!! We are all here for the same reason-to save money! Not to fuss with each other like the kids in my first grade class!

      • lee

        its clearance not a sale

    • nicole

Well I think about it this way I’m not the only one who wants a good deal and if there is only one or two stores in town and I clear the shelves then I haven’t given another person/family the chance to save money also.

      • Katie

I agree, and I see I have stirred some emotions here. I just want more focus on selfless acts, then selfish. People get excited extremely easily don’t they… o.O

        • nicole

          Lol

        • lee

yeah you do. your the one who started everthing.

        • Kv

I’ve seen a woman leave with 2 shopping carts once filled with t.p. once it was on sale. That’s crazy since an employee told me that was her third time in. They restocked and she kept coming back until they were out of stock in the back. When people show their “true colors” I guess.

          • Mer

But that’s a sale not clearance. Clearance items by their very definition are meant to be cleared out!

        • candy

Katie, you sound like one who’ll go berserk over a missed deal. It’s a clearance sale, for Christ’s sake! Get up early and get to your store fast, don’t sit on your ass and cry like a baby!

  24. Heather J

Thank you, Collin. There is a poor family in my neighborhood whose father just lost his job and the mother is sick and can’t work anymore so I went out and just bought them 15 boxes of tide. Yes, I cleared the shelf, but I am not sorry about it. It all went to a family very much in need and the look on there faces was priceless when they opened there door to see me standing there with 15 boxes of Tide!

    • Katie

I can see this, for the most part. I guess better cleared for a good cause in some cases than those clearing for personal gain. Also, if there are other stores in your area that makes it easier. 🙂

      • lee

okay so now its okay to clear the shelf. your wacked.

    • Tia

And that is why we all need to stop being so concerned about what the next person is doing. What a great gift, Heather!

    • Des

I agree, I’m not sorry about clearing a shelf when it’s going to help a family, and that’s the only time I would. I know it’s not right because other people might need it, but for families that were victims of poor circumstances, I’ll be the bad guy for a day.

    • Sarah

I don’t understand how that much Tide is going to help them. Food and clothing yes. 15 boxes of detergent ? No

      • Mer

Poor people have to wash their clothes too!

      • Guest

        Are you an idiot? Lol

    • Jill F

Heather, that is so sweet of you! Buying detergent will be one more thing they can cross off their worry list! Or they could always a trade a box or two with someone for veggies, meat, whatever! 🙂

  25. Brandy

Heather that was an awesome thing to do!!!

    • Laura

      *get… Not Hey. Stupid phone.

      • Crescent City Couponer

Next time autocorrect pops up, pay attention to the little “x” to the right of the correction. If you tap the “x” the “correction” goes away:)

  26. Heather J

I am still excited about it! That look on their faces! AHH!

    • Katie

That is the best look to see too. 🙂

  27. Laura

Ugh… I don’t know why I even Hey my hopes up. Thanks anyway.

    • Laura

      *get… Not Hey. Stupid phone.

  28. Su

Hi ladies , I have a question here how could you ladies getting so many boxes , in coupons .com there is limit to print coupons , already you have stockpile of coupons ?????

    • Katie

They either printed them off different computers or they are not using coupons at all. Or they could have also bought multiple newspapers.

It is a very good deal even without coupons.

  29. Sabby

I got 4 boxes and am completely happy:) karma comes around:) there were about 8 boxes left:)

  30. Zosia

Great job Heather! Dont mind at all if my husband will get nothing in our store, thats the name of the game, once a hit, once a miss 🙂
    Happy New Year everyone!

  31. Su

    Thank you

  32. lj

None of the stores close to me have any, within 19 miles. Not sure it’s worth the gas to go further than that. The store closest to me said they did have some, but someone wiped them out. I wish them a happy new year 🙂

  33. Su

Any one did the deal , I did not understand the scenario (newbie) here. $1.50 off for 2 tides , so how could be final cost $0.87 ??? Sorry for dumb Q , Thank you in advance.

    • Rebecca

$0.87 is the lowest cost you could score with the highest $$$ off coupon, in this case the $2/1 12/1 PG.

  34. jean

I have to wait till 7:00 pm before I’ll even have access to my car to look.Hope theres still some left by then.

  35. cj

It is a shame that people are so judgmental and selfish. Go to the store and get the deal if you can. If they are sold out, get a raincheck. We should be a POSITIVE COMMUNITY, not competitive jerks who make rude comments on anything and everything. Lets use these deals and comment sections for the good, to be helpful, not argumentative.

    • candy

it’s clearance, can’t get a raincheck it think?

  36. Lindsay

Do you need a wellness card to get the clearance price ?

    • Jennifer

      Yes! 🙂

  37. Kristina

For those of you who missed the deal, their are tons of great “make your own laundry detergent” recipes out on the web. I stopped buying detergent last year when I realized I can make my own for under $10 a year. Just google make your own detergent and find the mix you want to use. I use borax, super washing soda, feths naphtha and Irish spring; it works great and out clothes smell good.

    • Glenna

I just made this one last week & looked at my shelves & wonder “why have I spent money on all this detergent & cleaning products?” Vinegar & baking soda cleans great!

  38. Kerry

Just went to 3 stores. Was able to pick up two HE type. All three stores had the regular type. Two stores had signs…one store did not but it rang up on sale. Thank you!!!

  39. Colleen

Yay!!!!! Thank you, Collin! I ran out (following your advice) to the Rite Aid closest to work and there was an ENTIRE SHELF full of original and mountain scent. I grabbed 7 boxes (used 2 $3/2 coupons and 1 $2.00/1 coupons) and paid around $9.46 total! There were at least 40 boxes left so I hope someone else can score an awesome deal! The cashier was in shock so I am guessing not a lot of people have taken advantage of it yet. FYI I am in Camp Hill, PA.

    • Colleen

Oops! That should read 3 of the $3/2 coupons and 1 of the $2/1 coupons!

    • Hilary

Really? Darn! I’m down here in Etters and our store had none. We were just at Quaker Steak and Lube for lunch too. Thanks for sharing!

    • Hilary

      Collen- 32nd Street? Thanks!

      • Colleen

Hilary – yep! They have a ton and the cashier was super surprised…but very nice! Happy shopping!

        • Colleen

Also- the CVS on 32nd has a ton of Christmas stuff at 75% so I would check that out too

          • Hilary

Awesome! I think we’re going to head up. (I have a free birthday drink at the Starbucks there also. LOL!). I appreciate you posting!! Thank you!

  40. Hilary

Our Rite Aid was wiped clean. Just bare shelves. Oh well, next time.

  41. Kim

Just got back and picked up 3 of the HE kind! Also got two of the vivid boost! Thank you for posting!

  42. Kiran

happy for all of u who are getting the deal…..dont have rite aid sigh>>

  43. Su

Hi Colleen , I am here camp hill , PA too am now running to near Rite aid

    • Colleen

Awesome- it’s nice to know so many locals read this blog too!!

  44. Soy

All wiped clean. Cashier said a lady grabbed 10 boxes before me. Luckily got 2 bags of vivid.

    • Mer

      Where are you?

  45. Ray

Thanks so much! I went and bought 4 for about $1.90 each. I didn’t have much coupons but still a deal!

  46. Katie

I was able to price check a few other boxes, too. None of the PODS are on sale. However, the 53 Loads of the Ultra Tide with Bleach rang up for $4.62 and the box says there is $8 worth of coupons inside. The employees were so shocked that one went and cleared the shelf herself. The sweet cashier was patient enough for me to price check a few others and had to ring them up twice just to double check that this AMAZING deal was correct! Thanks, Collin!

  47. Rebecca

The color safe with bleach kind is ringing up $4.62 for the BIG boxes. (Like 94-114 oz) Price check those too!

  48. MalibuBeachBum

Thanks! We were able to pick up a mixture of some of everything on clearance. I was especially happy to get those $18.99 boxes at such a steal! We generally use Gain but Tide will be a nice change of pace for a while. 🙂

  49. Stephanie

My store was cleared out. Oh well!

  50. Renee

Thanks for the post. I was going to Rite Aid anyway. I found one in the back of the shelf!! I’m so glad I saw this post before leaving!
