It says limit 2, is that 2 per coupon or 2 rebate per household?

    • Heather C.

2 5-ream cases per household (or should I say….per Staples reward card.)

      • S

        Thank you =)

        • S

I am trying to do the rebate, I bought two in one transaction and it only shows i’m getting $21 back? help….

          • bargainhunter

If you submit your rebate within 24 hours of purchasing the product at the store, the quantity will only show 1. The rebate system automatically updates to the actual quantity purchased after it syncs with the store data usually after 24 hours.

          • chester

3-4 hours after rebate submission, it should show the correct amount of your rebate. you should also receive an email that your rebate is being processed.

            • bargainhunter

True, but I used the 24 hour time period for discussion purposes in this forum. If you wait until the data syncs before submitting the rebate, you will see the actual transaction online at time of submission so you can confirm the rebate amount is correct in real time.

          • S

Yup it works now!! Yay, thank you both!

          • Leslie

Did you have them scan 2 coupons? I think that might be the problem. At least this has been the problem in the past.

  2. kari

Anyone know how much the 5 ream case costs?

    • chester

      25.99 – 4.99 coupon = 21.00 (OOP) + 21.00 rebate (visa prepaid card)

      • Bev

        Where is the 4.99 coupon?

        • Karen N.

The rebate coupon will also adjust the price.

        • chester

if you follow Colin’s link to the staples coupon page, it’s the one that reads “FREE after easy rebate and with coupon” staples copy paper, 5-ream case.

  3. Lori

Which coupon do we use? Thanks

  4. Heather C.

LOL! I was just at the Staples sight looking for coupons (because we need printer ink and they have B1G1 1/2 off) and I saw & printed this coupon. Then I hopped on over to “hip2save” and read this entry!!” I know I’m getting my 2. Sorry, I don’t know the cost- but the rebates really ARE as easy as they say they are!!

    • jimena

did u use any coupon for ink? i need to get some ink . I would appreciate the info. thanks! 🙂

  5. Valerie

Isn’t it $1.50 off the Bounty, not $1.00?

*$1/1 Bounty Basic Paper Towels 8 rolls

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Whoops! Updating now! 🙂

  6. floridagld

Colin or anyone how much is the out of pocket before submitting rebate please and thanks..

    • steve

$24.99 shows online (store item only)

    • chester

it should be 25.99 for the 5-ream case – 4.99 coupon = 21.00 out of pocket, and the 21.00 rebate = free

      • chester

the 21.00 rebate comes in the form of a visa prepaid card

        • LoveSaving

I take the visa prepaid card could be used anywhere, not just Staples?

          • chester

yes. from the staples site, “You can use your prepaid card to purchase goods and services at more than 24 Million locations world-wide that accept Visa® debit cards.”

            • LoveSaving

              Thanks Chester!

            • floridagld

thanks everyone..posted down stream! First time doing rebate as well..hoped for a low oop..have a great day

            • Wren

              Yes, thanks Chester!

  7. WCA

Website shows $24.99 so with the coupon, I would suspect it would be $20 out the door plus tax. Then submit the easy rebate. Also, the way it’s worded, you can do the deal twice.

  8. Annie222

The 5 ream case is listed as $25.99 in the ad

  9. Rebecca

Online it says they are $24.99. I’ve never done any rebates through them, do they just come in the mail? For some reason I was thinking you get like in-store credit, but maybe that is a different store?

    • LoveSaving

I was wondering the same thing about how the rebates are issued. Not really wanting in-store credit. Does anyone know? Thanks

      • liezel

I always do staples rebate they issued a checked through mail 6-8 weeks..you need to submit your rebate online or mail it to them..online is so easy to do.

        • LoveSaving

          Thanks liezel!

    • chester

you get a check in the mail if it’s under $20, and a visa prepaid card if it’s $20 and up. i think if you do multiples on a rebate, e.g., 4 x 6.49 rebate = 25.96 (purchase 4 reams in same transaction, this is just an example), you get one check for 25.96, but i’m not 100% sure on this.

      • bargainhunter

The rebate offer amount is actually $10…Less than $10, you get a check otherwise you get the Visa card. Quantity purchased does not matter and your example was correct.

        • chester

thanks for clearing that up. i miss the days of the paypal rebates. saved me many trips to the bank.

  10. jamie

What 4.99 coupon are you talking about? I only see the coupon for’ Free after rebate and with coupon’. Is there an additional coupon for the 4.99 off? Thanks!

    • chester

one and the same. this coupon will deduct 4.99, making it free after rebate.

  11. maflies1

These cards are also great to use for online purchases where you don’t want to use your personal credit card. Just be sure to read the terms of use. I try to always put the amt. I use on a purchase on a sticky note, or on the letter I received with the card, thus telling me the balance I have left.

  12. chester

there is also a deal on the staples photo plus 4×6 paper, 60-count. 9.49 each – 9.49 rebate = free. the 25% office supplies coupon should work on these for a small moneymaker. limit 2.

    • Janna

I don’t see the rebate…can you please provide a link or more details?

      • chester

it’s in the ad and there should be signage in the store. a rebate receipt and rebate form should print out at the register for you. you can submit rebates online at http://www.stapleseasyrebates.com. you can also look up the current rebate offerings at that site.

        • Janna

I found the rebate! Thank you so much Chester!

  13. Lisa

Can we use manufacture coupons, like there’s the staples $1 purell and this Sunday’s paper has purell coupons can we combine both?

    • Lydia

I am pretty sure you can use manufactureres coupons too.

    • Ashley

I’ve had no problem in the past combining Staples coupons and Manufacturers coupons but I have had, like any store, cashiers that don’t know coupon policy.

    • Janna

When you print the coupon, it says not combinable with other coupons. Registers will deduct coupons in order received.

  14. floridagld

ok..thanks everyone..I haven’t done this type of rebate with staples before..needed to know the oop because a bit broke after the holidays..know what i mean 🙂

  15. crystal

Do you have the option of having a check mail or will you only get the prepaid visa card?

    • Dalia

Yes, I have done it multiple times this past “back to school” season. Prepaid Visa card is the default option, but you can change it to a check.

      • S

Hmm i don’t see any other option besides the visa card.. and also i have two 5-ream but it’s saying i’m getting “a $21 visa card”.. should it be two $21 visa card?

        • bargainhunter

The only option for this rebate is the Visa card. If you submit your rebate within 24 hours of purchasing the product at the store, the quantity will only show 1. The rebate system automatically updates to the actual quantity purchased after it syncs with the store data usually after 24 hours.

          • Crystal

thanks for the reply bargin hunter.

  16. Jennifer

I am a little confused…but it doesn’t take much 🙂 On the Staples coupon page, I see $25.00 off Staples® 8.5″ x 11″ Multipurpose Paper, case. Is this the correct coupon? If so, is it ok that the Item #’s are different? The coupon has an Item # 513096, while the description has and Item # of 990176.

    • 300Lane1

Nope, you want the “free after easy rebate & coupon”, for the Staples 8.5 x 11 copy paper, 5 ream case.

      • Jennifer

Wow…just wow! It was the coupon directly next to the $25.00 one…lol. Thank you for your reply 🙂

  17. bargainhunter

To help clear up some confusion on the free 5 ream paper bundles…This is an in-store deal only. Print coupon 47195. Pay $21.00 + tax at register [$25.99 – $4.99 coupon]. Get $21 back on a Visa prepaid debit card.

  18. nikita

ok, please clear this up for me, im sending my husband to get this. So he can buy 2 items #’s 990176 in 1 transaction. Pay 42.00 + tax and submit for 42.00 in visa gift card? He just needs 2 and im wondering if we can do it in the same transaction or if it needs to be different ones?

    • nikita

and do i need two of those coupons? or will 1 work?

      • S

I printed two coupons just in case but they only needed one (she even gave me back the coupons) got both in the same transaction (paid $45 ish with tax) and submitted for rebate now I’m just waiting for my $42 Visa card =)

        • chester

yes, he can buy 2 cases in one transaction and submit for one rebate. in this scenario, i would print out 2 coupons and hand them to the cashier. others have been successful at asking the cashier to scan one coupon two times. and it can also depend on your cashier.

      • bargainhunter

You can purchase [2] 5 ream cases in the same transaction. For the coupons, either bring two copies or make sure the cashier scans one copy two times. Personally, I prefer to give the same number of coupons as items being purchased to avoid any issues.

        • nikita

THANKS EVERYBODY!!!! ITs so nice we help each other out on this site!

  19. Jill

Thanks for posting this. Every time you tell us about free paper at Staples (which has been quite a bit lately 🙂 ), I purchase some and donate it to my kids’ school. They go to a parochial school which is struggling financially. Every little bit that I can save them on office supplies is greatly appreciated.

  20. Marie

Hi this would be my first time doing this deal. How long does it take to receive the Visa card? Do you get it by mail?

  21. Ashley

Actually it say’s $24.99 online if you print out the page and bring it in they can price match the online price (I’ve done it before especially with ink- the type of Brother ink I use is anywhere from $3-$8 difference from my MA instore price). While yes it’s only cents difference but something!

  22. maflies1

Takes longer than their checks, but not too long. Think maybe 4-6 weeks. Always such a treat to receive them. 🙂 And I love free paper in the boxes, which are nice for storage, as well!

  23. kristina

The coupon says limit 2, but it states “Each item purchased can only be discounted by one coupon.” Do I need two coupons if I purchase two of the cases?

    • chester

it depends on your cashier. i would bring two coupons, but you can ask the cashier to scan one coupon twice.

  24. brandice

These rebate Visa cards come in handy for online deals..etc

  25. Joe

If I use my quarterly rewards toward this will it print out the rebate offer? Thanks
