Wouldn’t it be more practical for CVS to price the toilet paper and paper towels etc etc at $10 instead of $9.99? It would be more clear cut to reach $20 or $30 etc. That annoys me a bit. Anyone have a good reason I’m not aware of? PS: I have my $10 Phy Form qpon and it expires 1/31. This is a good time to use it plus there is a rebate for a particular mascara.
It’s more practical for shoppers but to the stores… It makes us spend that extra $$ to account for that one cent missing… So in the end, the store still profits…
It really doesn’t matter with cvs… You don’t have to spend the extra… As long as you are 98% of the requirement, then you get the ecb… Been this way for years.
EXCEPT on the tiered deals, which is the case here with the paper towels. At 9.99 each, we have to buy 3 plus an additional item to get the $10 ECB, and the store wins.
But you could just get one of the Coke 2 liters for 99 cents.. it is still a good deal overall.
Ok nevermind about the rebate. I just read that you had to purchase a certain mascara that had the “try me free” label attached to it. Sorry.
I am sure they do it that way so that you have to buy a third item and they assume you will just buy another of the expensive thing.
Psychology. When something ends in a .99, people think it is cheaper and are more likely to buy it than if it ends in .00. Look around in store and you will see a lot of items prices at x.99 or something other than x.00.
Yes I know about the psychology aspect but then make it $19.98 for the ecb instead of $20. Not complaining too much because I love cvs’ing 🙂 🙂 🙂

You can come within a few cents under $30.00 and still get the extra bucks. I usually get 3 TP’s, which comes to $29.97 & it prints. HTH!
Not on the tiered deals, When you have the option to spend this or that, you need to hit the amount right on or over. It won’t print a few cents short like the single spend deals.

Does anyone know the limit on the Maybelline? I’ve had it tracking since the beginning of the month and want to use my 25% coupon but don’t want to buy to many and not get credit for them. I’ve been at have 20.97 need 9.03 since the beginning of the month. Would like to buy enough to get me to $45 and get ecb’s for both $15 increments I reach.

Last week I was $12 away from another Maybellibe $5 reward, this past week they had spend $12 get $4 ECB so I bought $15 used $5/$15 cosmetic and the $2/1 MQ and got back $9 ECB! $5 from the monthly deal and $4 from weekly!

the pantene shampoos and conditioners have a $2/1 peelie on most of them. went to 2 stores and both were like this making the above deal even better.

There was also a BOGO in today’s P&G insert if you go to CVS and someone has taken all the peelies off the shampoo and conditioner as is usually the case for me at my CVS;)

CVS register will not print the ECb if it is missing 3 cent .. it happen with me last week deal i was missing 3 cent from 30 ..was 9.99 x 3 – 29.97 ( 99.9 %) …. it print only the ECB as i spent 20 not 30
On the tiered items it doesnt print if you are a few cents away. But if it is not on a tier it does print.
There is also $1/1 Digiorno from a while ago, check your folders. Mine expires 1/31/14, so it will make the deal sweeter when combined with the B2G1 coupon
On the Colgate deal, can I do 2 toothpaste and 2 toothpaste or just 2 Colgate products total for the ECB deal?

I’ve been seeing a trend with the 20 ECB and 30 ECB. You definitely need to meet the 30 to get the ECB for $30 purchase. Usually they have Dawn dish soap for 97 cents or something and there is almost always a $.50 coupon for print at coupons.com. So I use the Dawn dish soap to “fill” the couple cents missing to always guarantee I get my desired ECB to print.

Mia, yes that cupon is fake 8.50 of tide, here in Houston at Walmart and Kroger and cvs they have those copies at registers tide and cottonelle tissue high values cupons printed . And so if cashier sees customers they assume the same . Just yesterday I went to cvs and bought 4 Irish spring using 4 .50 cents Cpns and 2 boost using 2 3dlrs Cpns and 4 garnier and cashier said one cpn only. I said please cancel my transaccion and can I speak to manager , she said she didn’t know managers name and he only calls, I said okay I be calling cvs Monday main office – she said no I don’t want you to leave upset I take your cupons. And I put them to the side cashier to ask manager . I told to please do because. I be calling anyways /
I felt so bad for cashier as she was very young and was obviously targeted by this lady. She showed me the coupon and said it scanned, so she just applied it…I just hate when people do this! It hurts the rest of us that play by the rules 🙁

I just did. It was in the vitamin aisle all the way on the bottom shelf, under the prenatal vitamins. At first I looked in the feminine care aisle, which had some similar products but no Estroven. If you can’t find it, I would check there as well.

question about tiered ecb: If I spend the required $20 in 1 transaction, get the ecb printed out, and then spend another $10 to reach the $30 later in the week, do I get more ecbs?

You get a $5 ecb for spending $20. Then if you spend $10 more during the week, you get another $5 ecb for reaching $30. I would use my $5ecb towards the $10, pay $5, then get $5ecb back. Hope that made some sense lol 🙂

No. The max is $10. So if you split it into 2 transactions of $20, then $10, you’ll get $5 on the 1st, and $5 on the 2nd.

won’t work b/c Unilever brand coupons are all Limit 2 Per Transaction. You’d have to mix/match with another deal.
I tried to do these deals: 4 Pampers diapers (with coupons), 2 colgate toothpastes, and 2 advil children’s 4oz syrup. The manufacturer coupons for the colgate toothpaste and advil children’s syrup wasn’t being taken. The cashier said that it was because I was using too many coupons (since I had 4 coupons for the pampers diapers + CVS bucks). Is this true? Has anyone else had any trouble with this deal? Thanks.
It has to do with their new register system. If you give cvs coupons first, it sits in “pending validation” until the cashier totals. If the cashier starts scanning manuf coupons before the cvs coupons approve, the register beeps when they scan manuf coupons. So to avoid all that, I hand over my manuf coupons first, then mcm coupons, then bucks. No problems since I figured that out.
I have had that happen to me! A “manger, store, shift, etc.,” has to use their card and over ride it.
Donna, no cashier wrong if cupon doesn’t go through it only asks cashier to verify. And if cpn is good they can put it through even with new system. Like bogo Cpns beep speed stick and cashier has to push sale price. Some cashiers don’t know and don’t want to be bother, just yesterday I bought 4 garnier and cashier said she couldn’t take they were expired ! I said excuse, me but, I been doing this for more than 17 years – she said sorry that she was wrong and told customers behind – sorry cupons take along time when I had only 4 Irish bars and 4 garnier and 2 boost – and she didn’t want to take only 1 cpn at end she tooked them – because – I said I be calling cvs on them the second time

Got a great deal on Pantene shampoo and conditioner today. Bought 9 at $3.50 each = $31.50 less $10 ECB and used nine $2/1 peelie coupons on the items. Paid $3.50 total for 9 Pantene! Only 39 cents for each!!! GREAT DEAL! 🙂

the deal is not tired, it is tiered. it means that if you spend a certain amount you get extrabucks but if you spend a little more you get more extra bucks. so if you spend $20, you get $5 ecb, but if you spend $30 you get $10 ecb. HTH.

I have a few items I would like to purchase and CVS seems to be where I want to start as of right now.
This is my question, when I get back the ECBs will I get one for each set of items that qualifies…. for ex if Scenario #1 gets me 3$ and Scenario #2 gets me 5$…. will I get 8$ ECB?

You are correct. However instead of getting one ECB back for $8, it would be split up. Like your example, you would get $3 ECB and a $5 ECB and so forth. They don’t combine the ECB’s. The nice thing about the ECB’s is you can use them on your next purchase and you do not have to wait to use them.

Has anyone tried the Maxwell scenario ?
Can someone tell me what the total square footage of the Charmin Ultra Soft 20 rolls and the Charmin Ultra Strong 20 rolls at CVS? I’m trying to see whether I should buy the t.p. from Target or CVS this week. Target is offering a $1/1 Charmin Target coupon and a 5% off Charmin cartwheel coupon (I don’t think Charmin is on sale at Target this week, but the Target coupons are a little hard to pass by).
I did the pantene deal and bought the bounty paper towels ( desperate need of paper towels ), I got 6 pantenes, 1 paper towel , 1 estroven =21.00 shampoos + 9.88 paper towels, 10.00 estroven= $40.88 then I used 3 bogo pantene cp the register took off 4.99 each, .50 cent cp towels then I used my $10 off $40 purchase cvs cp, minus $15 EB i had= total was .41 cents plus tax then I got $20 EB back. Sometimes you have to print two coupons and other times you’ll need more than one paper coupon. So you’ll either need to purchase more newspapers or ask friends and family for their coupons. I usually purchase four newspapers just in case a deal rolls around later in the month but I always purchase more papers when the P&G comes out.
Emma, it depends where u live at some newspapers boxes Spanish papers free, have inserts at stands, in our city Dallas tx,Houston tx, they throw newspapers on Fridays in houses for free neighbors share, they don’t coupon and have friends that share what we don’t use

Can anyone help me? I don’t do this often as I’m sure you will be able to tell. I went today and spent $28.49 on these items: 2 covergirl cosmetics, 2 pantene conditioners, 1 secret clinical strength, and 1 Gilette body wash. Because the covergirl products rang up for $5.25/each rather than B1G1 50%, that messed it up right away so I didn’t get the $10 ECB. (I did use coupons after that so I spent less than $28.49) But here is my question, on my reciept it says I only spent $14.99 towards the $30. Do they exclude certain covergirl/secret/gilette or pantene products? I’m guessing that’s where I went wrong but a $14.50 discrepancy seems like something is really off. HELP 🙂
Hi i am new to couponing i tried to get a deal on six bottles of pantene, I tried stacking the (6) bogo and (6)$1 off per bottle of pantene and the cashier told me I could only use one.
I tried this too and they said you can use only the BOGO or $1off …. I hope that’s right because then I would be mad to have spent more money.
Your cashier was correct. BOGO coupons attach to the TWO items listed and therefore you can not use another coupon, which is called stacking. Most coupons prohibit stacking and state that in the fine print located on the coupon. You could have use any CVS machine coupons for the shampoo but not a BOGO and a $1 off. You should also read the fine print…ALL P&G coupon states “4 like coupons per day” so by using 6 in one transaction would not be allowed per the wording. Please read your coupons and the store policy before trying to use coupons, especially when using them incorrectly! When people misuse coupons, it makes it harder for everyone and companies release lower value coupons and stricter guidelines.
I personally did 2 BOGOs because it fit into the scenario I wanted to do.
