I just bookmarked several of my coupon sites (including Petco/Pals Rewards page), the only coupon that showed last evening was the Friskies one. Yay for bonus dog food savings, thanks!

p.s. In case you didn’t know, Petco accepts competitor coupons. Every 4-6 weeks I put together a big shopping trip for cat litter and cat/dog food.
Paired with price match, competitor coupons and Petco’s 5% back program — I no longer cringe at the register. Pets can be expensive!
What type of coupons do you use during these trips, petco is becoming one of my favorite options for pet shopping
Hi Libby! I actually signed up for Pet Supermarket’s (and PetSmart) newsletter, almost EVERY month they send $4 off $20 purchase or $2 off $10 coupons (PetSmart is rare).
I also stack Petco’s store coupons w/manufacturer ones; if I must do multiple transactions to save more I will. Oh! And last, if there’s a specific food, or cat litter, I subscribe to their newsletters as well (ie: World’s Best Cat Litter).
Last, Petco and PetSmart do price match and BOTH accept competitor coupons. I drive a little further for Petco because of their reward program!
Oh yes Felicia pets can be very expensive. My baby girl was adopted from a local shelter. She’s almost 6 years old and has to be on prescription diet food…bad bad did I mention bad allergies to different ingredients in foods. I like Petco also to pick up my baby’s litter. I also enjoy all of their coupons…allows me to give back to our shelters.

Where did the coupons originate? I’m on Petco’s e-mail list and didn’t receive notice of this awesome freebie.
I’m not sure why that is – I’m on their email list too, but any time I’ve gotten coupons like this I must print from their website. There seems to be new ones each month.
They change the coupons on their site frequently but it doesn’t seem like the advertise them via e-mail. I imagine someone did get an e-mail about it and was kind enough to share with others. I used this coupon and the one for the free friskies can last night. I don’t have a cat so I put the friskies right in their donation box by the door.

Just went to Petco and used both coupons.. the Free bag of ProPlan (3.5 lb) and $10 off any size Pro Plan dry food (for cats)! The 3.5 lb bag of cat food at my store (in TN) is $13.99.. so only $3.99 after the coupon! 2 bags of the expensive food for $3.99! SCORE!
Awesome! I always try and get all the free pet food samples or freebies of different brands, and I give them to my dog as treats, lol. He thinks it’s a treat, because it smells and tastes different than his regular food, and I rarely have to buy dog treats 🙂
Hopefully your dog will be as excited as mine. I brought home this food and our 7 month old dog that nibbles and doesn’t beg for food smelled it and tried to push it over. We gave it to her with her normal food this morning for breakfast and she was so excited. I think she is going to be one of those dogs that prefers to have their food selection rotated. She certainly approved of it.
I sent my hubby to the store for this one. When he got home I realized he actually grabbed the 7 pound cat food on accident (he also used the $10 coupon on a second bag). The free coupon took the full purchase price of $21.99 off, so $3.99 for a 7 pound and a 3.5 pound bag. I’m pretty new at couponing but I thought I would share the accident and results.
If you were an honest person, you would go back to the store and pay up! You are basically stealing. In my eyes, it is jail worthy.
Oh dear! I’m glad I escaped jail time when cokes/12-packs were on sale at CVS and when I handed the cashier my 4 free 12-Pk qpons, she plugged in the full price (which went to my other items)!

Mistakes happen like that all the time. Sometimes I notice them right away and point them out to the cashier. Other times, I don’t see it until I get home. Don’t worry about it!
Some stores have a policy that if the coupon amount is greater than the item amount, it just gets applied towards the rest of your purchase. I don’t see it as stealing – it’s their policy.
Most of us on here are very friendly and encouraging. Thanks for pointing it out.

Since Petco is rather far for me I called the store manager at Petsmart who said they would honor petco’s store coupon. So I was able to use it at Petsmart. Just wanted to throw that out for anyone who has a Petsmart close by.
