Think this’ll work with Walmarts Amex Blue Bird card?

    • debra

No unfortunately it doesn’t. An “eligible Card” means an American Express U.S. Consumer or Small Business credit or charge Card that is not cancelled and that is issued to you by a U.S. banking subsidiary of American Express. Prepaid cards and products, American Express Corporate Cards and American Express-branded cards or account numbers issued by other financial institutions are not eligible.

      • Amy

I don’t know for sure but it worked for my the Costco Amex True Earnings card. I would think that’s the same as a Walmart card?? You can plug it in and see if it’s eligible, it literally took like 15 seconds.

I’m nervous to do this! It says on the existing member login screen that by logging in, I forfeit any promotional deal I may have on my acct. I have already extended my membership a couple times through the promotional deals posted on hip2save, and would like to get the lifetime, but I’m afraid I may somehow not be eligible and I will lose all of the deals. Has anyone tried this yet that already had shop runner through a previous hip2save post? How do I find out if my Amex is eligible? (It obviously let me sign up because of this same card before, but I’m not sure if something is different with this promo). Ideas?

    • Kelly

I had a previous promotion that gave me free shoprunner. I went through my American Express login page and was able to get the lifetime deal with no issues.

  3. Michelle

It works for the AMEX you get through your upgraded Costco membership if anyone is wondering.

Can you pay with another CC and have the Amex as the default card but not use it? My husband has one for work but wouldn’t want to use it for these purchases.

    • Amy

Copying and pasting the benefit terms for you: “ShopRunner has an Express Checkout feature that makes it faster to complete purchases online at participating stores. If you choose to use Express Checkout to complete a purchase, billing information from the payment method you set as the default in your ShopRunner account will be provided to the participating ShopRunner store at checkout unless you use a different payment method for that purchase. When you enroll an eligible Card for this benefit, that Card will be set as your default payment method in Express Checkout.

To maintain this benefit on your ShopRunner account, you must keep an eligible Card as its default payment method in Express Checkout. The benefit may be cancelled on your ShopRunner account if you change your default payment method to anything other than an eligible Card.

If you change your default payment method to a different eligible Card, that new eligible Card will be enrolled in the benefit. The same eligible Card cannot serve as the default payment method in Express Checkout for more than one ShopRunner account enrolled in the benefit.

During your enrollment in the benefit, ShopRunner and American Express will verify the eligibility of your default payment method.”

      • Melissa

So if I am understanding this correctly, you have to list Am Ex as your default payment card, but do you have to use that card to pay?

        • Amy

Not sure if I’m interpreting the terms correctly, but what I get is your eligible card is set as your default payment card at checkout and if you change that default payment card to anything other than an eligible card you forfeit/cancel the benefit. Someone correct me if I’m wrong!

          • Mizz Mo

You’re correct 🙂 But if you use your Costco Amex you get your cash back bonus at the end of the year.

        • Dayna

After reading it, it sounds like you do have to use that card, otherwise it may be cancelled. Seems like only one eligible card per account. Hopefully I understood it correctly, and others can chime in as well to correct me if I’m wrong.

          • Liz

I read it as you have to have an eligible Amex as the default card at all times, and the default card card is what will be charged if you use EXPRESS checkout, but that on any given purchase you can pay with another card as long as you go through the regular/longer check out process. (This is based on the first paragraph that says your default card info is provided to the retailer “unless you use a different payment method for that purchase.”)

    • Dayna

I’m wondering the same thing. I have an AMEX for work, but I don’t think the bossman would appreciate those charges showing up on my expense report! haha

    • elise

According to the terms Amy posted, you have to keep the Amex as your express checkout cc on shoprunner’s page, but you do NOT have to use the express checkout in order to use shoprunner at a retailer, you CAN use a different credit card at checkout.

    • jennifer e

you don’t have to use your AMEX card to pay. you can choose how to pay on the retailer’s site. i’ve used my shoprunner free shipping before and used paypal to pay and it works fine.

  5. Amy

Cool! Thanks for the deal, I just signed up using my Costco Amex card. I wasn’t a shoprunner account holder before so I’m not sure how to help you, Jen B., but for first timers it worked like a breeze for me.

I looked at my Shop Runner account details it says my membership expired on 12/31/13 and will auto-renew on that date too but I have NO credit card on file. however when I clicked on an item to buy from one of their stores (Toys R Us) its showing that I still get Free 2 Day shipping for being a Shop Runner member. So looks like it auto-renewed for FREE without anything else. I didn’t know this until now and also realized I used Shop Runner two weeks ago too to get free delivery fees for Domino’s Pizza too.

    • Kelly

Mine did that too. I’m just hoping they don’t decide to fix that anytime soon!

    • Kat

      Mine as well!

  7. Zeil

Can you stack free shipping from shoprunner and ebates/shopathome discounts?

    • bfam

      Yes!

      • Zeil

Could you please explain how? If you have to go through shoprunner to receive the free shipping and ebates to receive the % discount, how do you combine both savings? TIA!

  8. Amy

Im doing this on my phone, so i might be missjng something. But it says enyer your card # in one box, then there is a 2nd box underneath…what goes there? Will not let me go on until i put something in it

    • Zeil

      expiration mm/yyyy

  9. Becky

I just tried signing up with my American Express Macy’s credit card and it said it was not an eligible American Express card. Anyone have an idea why? I’ve used it for other American Express promotions.

    • Shel

Becky: I believe Debra’s answer above (the 2nd comment) will help you with that 🙂

  10. Kate

So I am considering this…… especially since Amazon Prime membership is probably going up (only really use Prime for shipping….not all the other stuff).

Would LOVE to get feedback/comments from people who have Shoprunner AND Prime or hear from people who have Shoprunner INSTEAD of Prime.

Is this really a great thing?

    • Beth

      Kate,

I do NOT have prime. But, I’ve used Shoprunner for several years now & it’s really saved me a ton on shipping charges. Specifically this past Christmas, I used shoprunner quite a bit at Toysrus. I was able to avoid going in the toy store altogether this past Christmas thanks to shoprunner. However, shoprunner does have it’s drawbacks. When shopping toysrus.com, for example, you only quality for free shipping on those items marked with a shoprunner symbol. So, sometimes I’d load my shopping cart, go to checkout and then discover that I didn’t actually have free shipping like I thought I did. You have to really pay attention. And, when I’ve used it for online flower shop orders (can’t recall which one at the moment), it would only give you EITHER free shoprunner shipping OR a percent off discount code. It wouldn’t take both. That being said though, Shoprunner is still a great deal. I’ve used it at drugstore.com, wilsonsleather.com, toysrus.com and much more. HTH!

    • FLMomma

I have prime & shop runner. I think shop runner needs to add more stores to it’s list of free shipping. It is awesome for Toys R Us, but other than that, I haven’t used it for any other store online where I’ve shopped. I prefer prime, hands down!

  11. Mike

I use shop runner for Lord & Taylor deparyment store.

  12. shirl

This worked on Costco Business Amex, but did not work on Citi Amex (personal).
