Sent from reader, Cheryl:

My mum, my role model couponer, recently dug through her collection of my childhood keepsakes. My mum did a splendid job of keeping these no-expiration-date coupons in pristine condition.

During Sunday supper, she brought these 30-year-old coupons over so I could place them in my baby’s scrapbook for a side-by-side comparison with the coupons I use these days for diaper runs.

HAPPY FRIDAY! πŸ˜€

    That’s fun!

  2. Brandy

    Awesome:)

  3. Ashley57

Cool! Also, I heard you can still use these coupons, if anyone out there has any!

    • DeeK

I have a whole box full of coupons from my early coupon days 30 yrs ago. Had to quit couponing for awhile so stuck them away in a closet. When I started couponing again a few years ago I had so many and alot of the products had been discontinued so it was hard to add them to my new coupons. The values are pretty low anyway. I don’t even know why I have hung on to them.

  4. Molly

My mom gave me cereal coupons without expirations….I use them!

  5. Cindy

I saw this and didn’t read it entirely, and I assumed she had used them even though they’re essentially vintage coupons now. I was like, “Nooooo, why?” hahah

Funny how designs and packaging changes, but their uses have never evolved. πŸ™‚

  6. Tilla Ham

funny how the price has quadrupled but the coupon values have stayed the same

    • Krystal D

That was exactly what I was thinking…

    • amy

Oh my gosh! I was thinking the same thing. Hilarious!

    • Julie

The newer coupons have values that have been quadrupled, if not more. Did you read the working on the $0.75 is off 1 giant pack, or 4 smaller packs of diapers!?!?!

When I was stocking up 3 years ago , there were online coupons for $3 off a small pack. That’s 4-times the value, and required only 1 smaller pack.

  7. Rita

    Wow.I’m thrilled!!

  8. Priscilla

    Those are so cool!

  9. eunice

coupons with no expiration dates would be great πŸ˜‰

  10. Ketsy alexander

Proud of both of you for couponing and even more for holding The Sunday supper tradition. πŸ™‚

  11. leslie

Wow…that is so awesome your mom kept these! I imagine these were pretty high valued coupons when they came out.

  12. Queenjen87

I have some cat food ones of my grandmothers with no exp date. Pretty cool (.30 value)

I feel like I’m the only person in the world who doesn’t scrapbook. Each kid has a shoebox where I toss pics of them in and a small Rubbermaid where I keep awards and really good drawings. That’s it. I am lame.

    • tracy

lol only the really good ones, just kidding. I just found that funny you said the really good ones and not just drawings πŸ™‚

but I liked the post. I have never seen an older coupon before

      • Em

Haha, they draw a lot, can’t keep everything. I go thru the piles of drawings like once a month and pull out a couple to stash away. The rest we use to wrap gifts, make into cards, etc.

    • kc

No you are not lame πŸ™‚ Even doing what you are doing is wonderful and I am sure there is a lot of people who would wish for just anything from their childhood. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

    • Nicole

I have a box for each kid also. That’s not lame. And I don’t scrapbook.

      • Em

I write down the date and event on the back of pics, that’s my extent! LOL πŸ˜›

    • Ketsy

I have a scrapbook for my first and a bunch of picture albums. I started with the second and now have three and lots of files and under the bed storage… maybe one day I’ll get to it all πŸ˜€

    • visitor3

Not lame. It’s realistic and also collects in one spot all the little things that don’t fit into a book. I call mine a “scrapbox” and often give nice looking versions (like the decorated cardboard trunks or hat boxes of various shapes, from Marshalls or Homegoods, etc.) of these as gifts at baby or bridal showers, for the family to collect their own keepsakes.

  14. rach

my mother-in-law has very old coupons, and they don’t even have a scan bar.

    • Deb

Me too! That was going to be my comment. Most stores won’t take those any more.

  15. shannonmeroneyShannon

High coupon value based on price of diapers 30 years ago

  16. Melissa

I used to scrapbook all of the time. Before I had kids. πŸ™‚ Two years later and two kids later and I have not made one new page in that time! Maybe some day. πŸ™‚

  17. lae

You can still use these and ones without a scan bar too. I have a bunch and have used them many times. The cashiers don’t have a clue what to do with a coupon without a scan bar!!!! LOL πŸ™‚

  18. Jolene

That is nice of your mom. Those coupons will still work too. I have some for cereal from my mom and they work lol, I was surprised.
