is there a way to figure if your target has this in stock online?
What?! For that price, I think I’ll start reading ebooks! And it has decent reviews.
I love my Nook Simple Touch. No problems reading in sunlight, Great to take on vacation instead of lugging real books.
I paid $20 for mine a year ago with a deal from Radio Shack, so this is a great price too.
My Target in MI has iPads on restock for $271. I was so excited and went to buy one. The clerk told me that they are changing the iPads and that in a year they would be obsolete and you would no longer be able to download content.
LOL, pretty sure the clerk has no idea what (s)he is talking about. You can still download apps on the 1st generation iPhones and iPads, I highly doubt they’ll stop providing content in a year for an iPad Target is selling now.
i can’t update games on my 1st generation to play games, apple is not updating software for 1st generation anymore…. so yeah pretty much obsolete.
They will be outdated. But not obsolete. The older iPads are still just as good. You just can’t update to the new ios software. I have not idea what your salesperson means by not downloading on an iPad.
No old iPads can not run many new games… Also they are getting very slow… I would suggest to not but 1st generation… 2nd is good still though…

My sister has a 2nd generation ipod touch and he’s right–she can’t update it anymore so she can’t even download any apps. If she deletes anything she currently has on there, it’s gone forever. It’s handy for browsing, but she can’t get any of the new apps.
Weird- I still have a 1st gen iPod mini (not touch screen or anything- the old scroll wheel). It’s about the size of an iPhone…but still works like a charm! People come over and see it sitting in it’s docking station and say “Holy ancient iPod! does it WORK!?!”
the were 39.50 at the target in murrieta ca last weekend the had a couple but my phone is as big as the nook and you can put apps on it so i past

I work in electronics at Target and I can say that although we did see this deal – it has been nearly 2 months ago now. It depends on whether or not your Target has done it’s electronics remodel yet. We are late in the rotation for our remodel (reset) and ours is finishing up this week. For our store it also applied to some of the Nook HD models. The 10in model went down to $60 for us. Also keep an eye for the Nook accessories as all our Nook branded cases and accessories went to 70% as well.

Does this Nook let you browse the Internet as well or is it just an ereader?
Nikki- from what I’ve read you can get on the Internet.
I own the Simple Touch reader like the one pictured (priced @ $17.70) is not really good for browsing. It really just connects to the B&N bookstore to keep track of your library and let you make purchases. There is a very simple browser that has been rendered inaccessible by software updates – it’s main purpose was to let you enable WiFi in places that required an online sign-in. But besides that, the screen (e-ink) is not good for a viewing a lot of things – most animations, for example.
The Nook HD has more tablet like capabilities – i.e. being able to browse the web – the simple touch and glowlight (the smaller black and white ones) are not really intended for use beyond that of an eReader.
Why wouldn’t you buy it to resale it for that price??

NONE left at either STATEN ISLAND, NY LOCATIONS, did find a TOMTOM gps start kit for $15.98 it was not labeled, amazon has it for $89.99. there was a ton of dvds, xbox games, boom boxes, iphone speakers and docking stations, earplugs and headphones all 50% to 70% off.
Can you please give us the number for the tomtom? I was able to call the store, no nooks in Northern VA
