JCPenney has tons of clearance on Giggle Baby by Skip Hop! Should have gotten more photos but they have these cute diaper bag totes/messenger for $14.99. If you have the $10 off $10 would be 4.99! I used the $10 off $25 coupon with no issues.

I found some fantastic clearance deals at JCPenney today! I got my daughter Bella Ballerina shoes by Sketchers for $9.97, a shirt for $2.97, a pair of jeans for $5.97, and a dress for $4.97. I got myself two Vanity Fair bras and an Ana brand shirt for $4.97 each and a Liz Claiborne sweater for $0.97! There was a whole rack (10-20?) of Liz Claiborne sweaters in several styles/colors all for $0.97 each. I used a 25% off shopping pass (from the mail) that worked on everything but the athletic shoes. My total was $34.59 w/tax for the 8 items and savings of $238.67! I think most items were just marked down today because they rang up higher at first. The cashier watched/manually adjusted them and said the system hadn’t yet updated for new markdowns. I know clearance selections can vary greatly from store to store, but wanted to share in case you wanted to pass along a heads up. [/h2s_box]

I love Penneys! I have an order of their blinds arriving today! My mom always ordered her curtains and shades from Penneys and after looking at some of them in the various stores around us, I can see why. With the coupon codes and sales, you end up paying the same price as you would at Target but the stuff from Penney’s seems to be nicer quality. I can’t wait to go home from work and install them!

    • Claire

Emily, What kind of blinds did you order? Are they on sale? We’re building a new home, we needs a ton.Thank you

I used to love jcp..but not so much anymore. At my store (Ohio) everything is priced way to high and there is hardly any clearance items. And they got rid of a lot of brands they used to carry. Wish they would go back to the way they used to be. Sigh.

    • Monica

We bought bath towels and less than 4 weeks later 3 of them unraveled and frayed. I was very disappointed.

    • Tori

Where in Ohio? The diaper bags/clearance giggle baby here were in NE Ohio.

  5. spandana

where did you get the coupons, thanks.

  6. Minde

I went last week and got 41 items, including a steelers sweatshirt and Arizona Jeans, for just over $50! All the clearance was either $.99 or $2.99 and I was able to use my 15% off

  7. Elisa

I’m in my early pregnancy stage, what would you ladies think the price point should be for a diaper bag? I thought a bag was just a bag, but there’s so much to learn!!

    • Emily

I didn’t go with a certain price but a certain style (and was actually given the one I asked for as a present). I have a Jeep Diaper Bag Backpack and I love it (and it keeps two hands free for the baby!)

    • Lindsey

The Skip Hop brand is awesome! I have one of their bags and it is really sturdy and all the pockets are great. Not all baby bags are created equal 🙂 I paid about $30 for mine and it was way, way on sale at Burlington a while back, so $14.99 is AWESOME. I also spotted Skip Hop bath accessories, cute little book bags and other baby toys at JC Penney for 60% off.

    • Malissa

depends on the person. Do you want a designer bag? Coach, vera Bradley, etc? Or one of the trendy baby brands? Like juju be, skip hop, petunia pickle bottom, etc? Or do you want a basic one like carters, jeep, etc? You definitely have to decide on that first 🙂

    • Ayesha.

I got free diaper bag from the hospital. For travelling I bought thermose brand back pack from TjMax which is really good. Have nice pocket and space. I paid $30 plus tax!

    • Jennifer

$5 or under! Buy from a consignment sale. Seriously- save a lot of money that way with buying things that look brand new for a fraction of the price. If you look here you can find ones nearby:

    • Lori

I didn’t set a price point but just look around and see what you like. I bought a used JuJuBe on a Facebook tagsale page. 🙂 I love the designer ones but they are so expensive when you buy them new! I have the JuJuBe one I love that’s huge – great for overnights and to keep in the car with extras of everything. Also have a smaller Coach one (got as a gift) which I like for fancy events. I’m all for having a few different ones. Skip Hop is a great brand though….I’d consider buying another for that price (ugh – I need to learn to pass up a deal!!)

      • Lori

PS. Congrats!! Enjoy your pregnancy – it probably seems like you’ll be pregnant forever, but it will go by so so quickly!

        • Maria

          Thanks, Lori!

    • Christi

I have a Jeep Messenger bag, i think it was $30? It’s lasted through 2 kids and was neutral enough for my husband to carry. But you can get bags up to $150+ ! Its crazy how much people will pay for them

    • Maria

Thank you ladies so much for the tips! I’m not too crazy about designer brands, but I would pay a little more for a piece that I know would be sturdy, neutral and hopefully lasts me through a couple of kids. For me paying “a little more” would be $50 tops. 😉

With my first, I picked a Carter’s diaper bag from Babies R Us that was on sale for like $30 (I think, it was 4 years ago!). It served well enough…sometimes seemed not big enough, but then sometimes seemed too big. what I ended up learning was that I should have went with something that was either a cross-body style, or a backpack style because when taking baby out it was difficult to carry my purse, my coupon bag (don’t leave home without it!), the baby in one of those heavy carriers, and a diaper bag, that always seemed to fall off my shoulder! Also, the plastic lining inside is totally wrecked, and we certainly were not rough on it!

I’m expecting #2 in less than 3 months, and mostly because of the lining I will need a new diaper bag for this baby, but I’m kinda glad because I grew to dislike that one. If I’d have the coupon (I don’t), I’d look at one of these to see if they would work better, but my plan is to use a plain Jansport backpack that I already own. It has a rubber bottom, kinda like a tire, and I know that it can take a beating, and will not slide down my arm while I’m trying to get all of the above- plus a 4 year old- into a store.

Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy!

      • Maria

        Thanks for the advice Laura!

      • Rae

I second the backpack! Especially Jansport! I got one of their messanger style bags when I was in school for $20 at costco and it has lasted through 3yrs of school and then two kids diaperbags needs. Jansport also has a GREAT warranty for their products which I have taken advantage of a couple times before on other bags. I cloth diaper sometimes and the bag is big enough for that but its not bulky when Im just using disposibles either.

  10. Amanda

    • Dep

The diaper bag IS online, both of those colors, but for $24.99.

  11. dino

  12. Kairi

I have a grey dot $90 skip hop bag that I got for $45. My son is 2 and it has held up really well. I plan to keep using it for a long time because I really like it. I get compliments all the time on how it looks stylish and not like ” a diaper bag”.

  13. Anam
