Those with Kindles… Is the paper white worth the extra cost? I read the reviews/specs, but not seeing much difference other than being able to read at night…
I have a “regular” Kindle and it works great! I don’t miss having a light because if I do read at night, I have a small lamp nearby that I use. For me, it wasn’t worth the extra cost just to have a light on the Kindle. I think the Paperwhite is touch screen as well which I did not want at all. I like the buttons a lot better and it doesn’t leave finger print marks on my screen. I got my Kindle when it was on sale for only $49.
I have a regular kindle and I’ve used my brothers paperwhite. I ordered the paperwhite because its nice to be able to read in a room if it isn’t well lit. I use the kindle app on my ipad more than my actual kindle because of that! i think its definitely worth the upgrade since its so cheap right now!

I have never once gotten one of these deals. It is really frustrating. I have bought several hundred e-books from amazon over the past couple of years and don’t own a kindle but no offer.

DON’T GIVE UP! The offer wasn’t showing for me so I went and added the cheaper Kindle into my cart in the hopes the price would drop once in there. It didn’t drop so I backed out of the check out process so I could deleted it out of my cart and went back to the Amazon front page and like magic the banner was there!! It might have just been like others that I wasn’t all the way signed into my account until I went to the final screen of the check-out process. But it’s worth a try.
For me, it offers a payment plan and not a cheap Kindle so be very careful!

I was on my phone and chose to go to the full site all the way at the bottom. Once there, I had to go into the kindle area before I saw the banner.
It didn’t show up on the home page, but a different kindle ad was there… I clicked on that and a orange banner popped up showing the discounts available.

Hey, the offer did not show for me either at first, but i clicked on the kindles from the main menu on the left just for the heck of it and once i got to that screen the offer was available!!!
So FYI, I was able to add 2 deals to my cart: $75 off Kindle Paperwhite and $50 off Kindle. I was able to buy both products, 2 different orders and got the discount for both!! Paperwhite was. $44 for me, and the Kindle was $19, for my kiddos. awesome!!!

That’s incorrect. In fact, the express terms of the offer is that you either received it via e-mail or by clicking on the orange banner on the Kindle page.
Bought kindle paperwhite 2nd gen less than a month ago (full price). Emailed Amazon and they issued a refund for $75.

It did not show up for me on the home page. I was logged in. I went to the kindle store page and the small orange banner was there. I did not receive an email about it. I am a prime member. I ordered one (it would not let me get two). Then I placed another order (since I get free shipping anyways). As long as they weren’t in the same order it worked. I did this at 11 pm last night.
I have been trying for hours and still haven’t received the offer. I order from amazon all the time and have prime. This really is making me dislike amazon a bit- it’s not fair to offer special pricing to some customers and not others!!
I emailed them telling them I am tired of not getting these deals. I have shopped with them for 14 years, am a prime member and spent on average $200 per month on things like toilet paper, coffee…you name it. I guess I am going to start shopping the brick and mortar stores again.
