Nice money maker but fly ribbon is sooo nasty! Lol

    • amy

      I agree….not a money maker I want haha

    • Amanda

      Why are they nasty??

      • steph

Because you have to pull the ribbon out from the paper holder and it is extremely sticky and messy to deal with.

        • Edie

Not only that but probably having to deal with it once it is covered in dead flies lol.

The coupons wouldn’t scan at either the register or at customer service, the manager told me that if it doesn’t scan they don’t accept the coupons. I left without my fly paper. πŸ™

Don’t like Wal-Mart, but if I have a coupon that will give me overage I will stop by to get thw item. No more….last time I had the 2.00 of the easter candy and same thing told me if coupon does not scan they won’t take. I think by now they have the system set up where if is more than the item it will beep and they won’t take it.

Said I already printed the coupon πŸ™

These were on clearance a couple of weeks ago. They scanned but with beeps. No way in heck was the coupon hater csm going to me that overage and I was just going to roll it into the basket. Well I didn’t get anything. I used the coupons else where and still got overage into my cart.Just when I thought my Walmart was changing for the better with the new manager.

There is one reason that the coupon beeps! I figured this out. For some reasons 99% of the Raid products (the expensive ones) mostly, have a UPC number of 46500 which matches the coupon. Unfortunately, the cheaper items like Fly Ribbon etc, have a Product UPC of 72477. That is why it is beeping at the register and why the stores (like Walmart) won’t accept it. I also contacted the company and can’t get an answer as to the reason there are two different UPC numbers even though they are from the same company.

You are absolutely right! I went to Walmart right after I printed this q a week ago from another site’s link and tried to buy the 10 pack of fly strips. The coupon wouldn’t scan and I had a new cashier. I asked to look at the product and sure enough, the first 5 numbers of the barcode on the product doesn’t match the coupon. This of course means the coupon won’t go through on its own and Walmart’s coupon policy states that if a printed coupon won’t scan, they won’t take it. Had to remove the products from my cart.

I checked my Walmart last year and they didn’t carry fly paper. Actually checked 3 different stores. Might want to check before your print.

I have to tell you that, for the most part, I have better luck in Walmart with a male cashier, than a female one.

In this case, I had to visit to two different Walmarts for this transaction. The female cashier gave me hard time in the first Walmart. The assistant manager in charge did not know what she was doing. So, she took the cashier’s word that they could not override it, and told me that the purchase needed to be over two dollars, in order for the coupon to work. I told her that wasn’t true and that she could keep the products.

At the second Walmart, the coupons did not scan again. However, the male cashier manually took off the two dollars. When I got home, I noticed the receipt noted the discount as “Container Tend”, as suppose to “Manufacturer Coupon”. Either way, I was happy I got what I wanted. πŸ™‚

I went to Walmart with these coupons last night and they did not want to honor them because the system rejected it. This is either an error in Walmart’s system or an error in the verbiage on the coupon on the part of Raid. Either way, the problem isn’t mine to resolve. Per Wamart’s policy, print at home internet coupons “Must have a scannable bar code”. The barcode on these coupons scans just fine. The system just rejects it for some reason or another when used to purchase the flypaper. If you take the same coupon and apply it toward the purchase of, let’s say a $5 can of ant spray, it works just fine. By virtue of this fact, the coupon meets every criteria set forth in Walmart’s coupon policy and they need to honor it as such. The floor manager on duty kept trying to convince me that the coupon did not apply to that product and we went back and forth for quite some time. Her manager didn’t even feel the need to come and discuss it with me even after repeated requests by the floor manager to get him to intervene. In the end, the floor manager reluctantly issued an override for each of my coupons and pushed the transaction through, but I had to invest a considerable amount of time dealing with the prevailing ignorance in the Walmart store management community.
