Hey Collin…I heard from a friend that has IBS that her doctor told her to stop drinking coffee!!! Oh no!! He said that coffee is a stimulant whether its decaf or regular and it may be a cause of the disease…worth looking into…I hope its not the case for you because I cant see you parting with your love….lol

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank you for passing this along… I have been contemplating trying to eliminate it for a bit to see if that fixes the issue. I just feel bad for my hubby who will have to be around me when I do. 🙁

        • Melinda Graham

Collin, I have had IBS for 15 years, and tried lots of probiotics, restrictive diets. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of Plexus, but you’ve got to try their Probio5! It has probiotics, enzymes, plus rids the intestines of candida…I can not believe the difference it has made for me. I no longer am sensitive to trigger foods (coffee, fried foods, tomato sauce, etc.). It’s not expensive and worth looking into! My tummy is so happy! You don’t have to buy through me, just thought I’d pass on the tip.

  3. linda

That love for coffee sure comes through… Enjoy…

    • nicolegammeter

      Thanks! 🙂

  4. Pamela

2 words for your IBS: GLUTEN FREE!! Try it! I haven’t had any issues since changing my diet. It’s easier than you think 🙂

    • nicolegammeter

Thanks for the tip! I have actually been following a gluten-free diet for a while now. I am hoping that by eliminating certain trigger foods, I will start to feel a lot better. We shall see! 🙂

      • kr

oh good! hope you find the foods soon. we did muscle testing/kinesiology testing with a naturopath for our son and it revealed several foods that he was intolerant to.

      • Melissa

You should look into Food Combining. I have UC and have tried this it has changed my life. =0) Its worth a shot

        • Marissa

What is food combining? I was recently diagnosed with UC and am super interested! 🙂

  7. Melissa

  9. karen

Sometimes nerves, anxiety or stress cause triggers. Oh, and coffee 😮

  10. Heather C.

I LOVE staples but haven’t been this week. When I saw that you did your video here, I was soooo excited (oh, the simple things in life, right Collin?) You are so adorable :O) Thank you for making me love my life every single day.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awww…. thanks for the sweet comment. It sure brightened my day! 🙂

  11. Madsmom

Do not have a staples near me… :(. Do have an office max would love a video from there!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Stay tuned…

  12. Barb

Probiotics have helped me as well as gluten free diet and (sorry) limiting caffeine.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for passing along!

    • Jenny

I have to agree with the probiotics also. I used to have mild IBS and started taking GNC packets 25 billion probiotic complex and have not had any issues. I don’t drink coffee but have also heard it can be a trigger for IBS. On a side note, love the video just wish I had a Staples closer to my town!!

  13. Maja

Hi Collin, awesome video as always:)))))) I have to go to Staples:))))

For IBS…I had that problem during my first pregnancy only thing that helps me was Dried prunes and Prunes juice. I was eating 5-6 dried prunes every day and 2 glass of juice also every day. Sometimes I was eating more dried prunes depends how bad is it 🙂 Give it try, it’s all natural and sweet too:) HTH 🙂

    • Kidsallgone

Omg!!!!! I would be running for the border!! Not meaning to make a joke about your problem. I know first (second?) hand how bad those issues can be. My 20 year old daughter woke up one day with a belly ache and 2 weeks later (after gastro doc and scans) she was in the hospital having surgery due to being diagnosed with Crohns and it was a flare-up that was causing her pain.

  14. Jenifer

Have you tried essential oils for IBS? I have not shopped at Staples in a long time. I love the videos, they remind me how easy couponing really is with Hip2Save! Thanks!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I haven’t tried Essential Oils. Have you heard that they help?

      • Jenifer

I am a newbie in the essential oil realm, but have had a great experience so far. According to my reference book from abundanthealth.com, peppermint, caraway, and Di-Gize are the top three listed for IBS. Hope you find something that helps!

        • karmen

I don’t suffer from IBS but I can attest to how awesome essential oils are for treating pretty much everything!! Collon, have you tried water kefir and organic apple cider vinegar? I take both daily for gut health, about a Tbsp of each.

          • karmen

            *Collin

  15. Rennie

Hi Collin-Worth mentioning is the awesome Staples Rewards Program. Normally 5% credit back to be used in store but reward members got a coupon for 25% this week. I don’t see the Keurigs excluded in the fine print so $99.99 for Office Pro Brewer-$24.99 for 25% off cleaning supply=$74.99-$18.74 (25% reward back)=$56.24-$25.00 Staples gift card=$31.24. Hello, I’m finally getting a Keurig! Happy Mother’s Day to me! Actually, I ordered the Vue 1255. Starting price $129.95. Final cost only around $28.## if this works. Not sure about if the 25% reward is before or after the gift card. This is some KrZy math but a great deal either way! 😀

    • Christa

I bought one the other day!

B145 OfficePro $99.99 – $25 for 25% off breakroom coupon in flyer or printable
      – $25 Staples gift card after rebate
      – $18.75 back for 25% rewards on $75 (coupon available on staples.com coupon section)
      = $30.25+tax after all savings ( $75+tax OOP + $25 gift card and $18.75 in rewards)

I hope I can use the coupons on k-cups too. I know I can with the break room but hopefully I can also use the 25% rewards too.

      • Melissa

I actually just bought the keurig officepro. I used the 25% off breakroom coupon and the 25% back :)) so only like $31plustax after coupons, giftcard and rewards

    • Maja

that would be great 🙂 I’m going to try it:)

  16. kari

Great to hear you talk about low FODMAPs. I am studying to be a dietitian and I’ve had my own digestive problems. Low FODMAPs is a great diet for IBS. It has a 75% success rate. I’m glad the word is getting out and I hope it works for you.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks, Kari! 🙂

  17. Christa

I have to tell you – I have a 5 yr old son, and he’s gotten so used to mommy watching ‘The Hip2Save Lady’ that if he catches me watching one of your videos without him he gets mad! He loves you as much as I do! Thanks for all you do!

    • Tara

My 4-year-old son loves Collin’s videos, too!

      • Mel

        Ha ha! Mine too!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awww… that makes me smile! So glad to hear your boys enjoy watching me! 🙂

  18. denise

Hi thanks for sharing the video! I never shop at Staples but now considering it just a question how long before you get your money sent back from the easy rebates and can you get paid through pay pal?

    • Eridqua

Rebate arrives within 4-6 weeks. PayPal is no longer an option. Rebates less than $10 will come by check. Rebates over $10 are sent on a VISA card. HTH.

      • andria

i just got a visa card today for $26! it was from a case of paper a while back I think I submitted it 4 weeks ago…

    • Dianne

They say 4-6 but they come for me with in 3-4 weeks!! But again like Colin said, come home, enter them right away, they come very quickly.

  19. Denise

Thanks for the video and a special thanks for your infectious positive attitude 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are so welcome! Thanks for the kind words. 🙂

  20. Heidi

You can also score the Keurig offer online! Online price is $92.99 with the instant $23 savings. Then I searches and found an online coupon for $15 off $50 taking the price to $77.99. Shipping is free and with tax total comes to $84.40. Taking into consideration the easy rebate $25….. Grand total of $59.40!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Great idea if you don’t feel like heading in store! 🙂

  21. LisaD.

Another great video AND reusable bags!! Such a great message since we just had Earth Day!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      😀

  22. laura wyatt

what happened to the toilet paper 😉

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      LOL! 😉

  23. Denise

My husband puts vitamin C powder (ascorbic acide powder) in his water along with flavored stevia for his IBS issues and it has kept him quite regular

  24. Elisa

    Hi Colin, love this video.
I also wanted to mention to you about bentonite clay for your IBS. Someone mentioned it to me and i read about it online and gave it a try. I could not be happier. I take it once a month along with psyllium. I also suffered from a lot of heartburn and since taking the bentonite clay i have not had any problems. I have been doing it for about 6 months. Love it! Good luck , hope you find some relief soon. It is very difficult to deal with and have an active life. I did not want to leave home to go anywhere for fear of having to use a public restroom or not being able to find any restroom. It is not fun.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank YOU! I will definitely have to try this… I have actually never heard of this before. I am assuming I can purchase on like Amazon.com?

      • Elisa

Yes it is available on amazon, but you should read up in it before you order. I order from best bentonite, but i don’t think they are allowed to say you can drink it. But you can, i do once a month. I keep a glass jar on the counter with this bentonite clay and water. A few weeks ago my daughters caught the stomach bug i gave her a tablespoon of this water clay mix and she was fine the next day. I have had only positive results.

  25. Cassandra

I got a staples $10 off anything mailer coupon can I combine this coupon with the 25% off cleaning/breakroom supplies coupon?

    • Dianne

Usually each coupon states only one coupon per item that’s why if you are using the rebate coupon for the copy paper even though the paper is an office supply product, it won’t take off anything from that additional coupon.

  26. Sherrie

    Collin
I suffered for years. Turns out it was that my gallbladder was full of sludge and had quit working. No gallstones. Just a feeling of fullness. Miserable after eating. Constipation. And sometimes the opposite. Since being removed. All is well in the world

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks, Sherrie. I am seeing a GI Specialist in the coming weeks.

      • Anne

I was diagnosed with IBS about ten years ago. About five years ago, I had a lactose challenge test and found out I was lactose intolerant. Since giving up dairy, I rarely have constipation issues and NO more stomachaches! Doctors blew me off and said it was because I was anxious. 🙁 I don’t think I ever had IBS, I was just lactose intolerant all along.

It did take me about a month to feel better after eliminating dairy, by the way.

My dad went to a naturopath for his digestive issues. My parents are not into alternative medicine at all but he had diarrhea very bad and his regular doctor advised seeing a naturopath after regular medical treatment didn’t work. Within three days on the diet his naturopath put him on, all his digestive problems went away. He can now eat a normal diet, too.

  27. dhuyenthi2280@yahoo.com

Love your video. I check your site everyday. I was very sick last 3 months with abdominal cramps and lost unexpected 8 lbs due to too much stress. I am 33 and just got my first colonoscopy to find out if I have Crohn disease but I am not. Thanks God. I am trying to avoid coffee and stay gluten free. It helps a lot since I stopped my coffee. Stay well and keep us updated, Collin!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank YOU!! I appreciate you sharing your issues and will be sure to keep you all updated once I see the GI Specialist.

  28. Katrina Korneychuk

Hi Colin, love your website and your videos. “IBS-C ” all i do is drink 3 times a day 30 min. before or after meal (organic-raw-unfiltered apple cider vinegar) 2tsp of vinegar mix with 1 cup of water(i drink with a straw). Brand that i have is sold in Fred Meyer in natural section “Bragg”.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for passing along! Will definitely have to try…

  29. Jamie Gramley

Hey Collin! I check your sight everyday and have for several years now! Thanks for all you do! I take Natural Calm daily (for migraines, not IBS). Its a magnesium supplement, but it REALLY helps with constipation as well. Here’s the link at amazon, but you can get it at health food stores as well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BPUY3W0/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00BPUY3W0&linkCode=as2&tag=wwwhip2saveco-20&linkId=Z46JDBBRY4VXKOXH
It also tastes great and is very easy to take in a small glass of water. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

  30. Marissa

I am a 25 year old mom of 2 boys (about to be 3 boys) last year was having “IBS” type problems went to a GI, had a colonoscopy and was diagnosed with UC aka Ulcerative Colitis. So happy to hear your seeing a specialist. Hope that it’s not a big deal and an easy fix for you!
LOVE your site been following since early in 2009! Everyone in my family and extended family knows when I say “Collin said” EXACTLY who I’m talking about even my teenage brothers lol
My husband teases me that if I saw you in real life is probably hyperventilate and pass out 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

LOL! You are sweet! Who knows… maybe we’ll cross paths one day. 🙂

  31. JD

Correction to your video since Staples policy has changed. Staples no longer offers PayPal as an option for rebates. Any SKU $10 is paid via a Visa Rebate card. No other option. No PayPal any longer. Been that way for about 6 months or so IIRC. The SKU price and not the total for a given product if you buy more than one SKU determines the form of payment for rebates.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for the info!

  32. lovedeals

    Hi Collin,
Today I went to staples and I was able to combined 20% coupon along with 25% back in rewards. Thought of passing on to everyone. Thanks to you and your team for hard work and take care.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      WooHoo!!

  33. mary

  34. JD

Comments do not like less than or greater than signs. For the above comment. Any SKU with rebate less than $10 is paid by check. Any SKU with rebate greater than $10 is paid via Visa rebate card.

  35. jl

Sorry to hear about your IBS. I struggled with it in college mostly due to stress and bad diet. Thankfully it went away on its own. However, now, 10 years later my health is once again deteriorating and it’s finally been confirmed that I have candida (yeast overgrowth). It makes total sense between the IBS and reoccurring infections I used to get. Anyway I am so glad it was diagnosed and now I can get healthy again. Treatment includes eliminating sugar & most grains (which feed yeast) along with probiotics and lots of vitamins. Thought it was worth mentioning because I know it is one of those things that not a lot of people have diagnosed, yet a lot of us suffer– with various symptoms too– but can be controlled pretty easily without medication. Hope you’re back to full health again soon!

  36. Ula And

Which Staples coupon are you using to deduct $2.99 from the paper case please?

  37. viktoria

Hi, Collin Have you ever heard of Young Living Essential oils? You should really check them out if you haven’t. Can just google Young Living essential oils for IBS and a ton will come up, testimonies and all that have helped. I am a member for them and can help you get started if you would like. Peppermint oil, caraway oil and Di-Gize oil are one of the few that help IBS. Im not trying to boast about it because I am a member, they are truly amazing.
    Thanks, Viktoria

p.s -you and you video are too cute!

    Hi Colin,
I’ve struggled with gas and upset stomach for years. Caffeine is a diuretic and can cause you to be dehydrated which aggravates constipation. I have a problem when I drink a lot of caffeine. Also, I only recently figured out that garlic has been the cause of my daily gas problems. I’ve tried gluten free, dairy free, etc etc. I just never considered it until my third child struggled with painful gas. He cries more when I eat garlic (like, daily, I love it). I cut it out, and I feel (and smell) much better 😉

I know you said in the comments you take magnesium, but sometimes your body does not absorb it properly, especially if you have digestion issues. There is a homeopathic product called mag phos it has a big #8 on the bottle that helps to absorb it. The Boise Coop carries it and it has helped my family a ton! You can take a dose every 15 min when you start to feel cramping or put a dose in hot/warm (drinkable temperature) and sip every few minutes. Its amazing because the cramps stop really quickly! Totally worth a try!

  43. Brenna Serby

Thanks So much Collin I have been wondering FOREVER how the easy rebates work! I have been couponing for 3 years and this has been on my mind since I started!!

    • Dianne

When I was in Staples today they asked if I would do a video on how easy the rebates are because they have people who don’t believe them so they said if a customer said it they might believe it. I will send them to you Collin!!!

  44. niki

Just watched this video for the first time. And im impressed how easy and detailed u made it for beginners like myself..I definitely look forward to other videos. Im hooked 🙂

  45. Patrcia

Went to Central Arkansas Staples (first time) and was so dissappointed. I got water (my brothers will only drink Ozarka water) and the free paper. The TP is marked at 9.99 for the 16 double rolls (with 4 free rolls making 20 double rolls) and they were out of the sissors and the markers so no luck today.

  46. Sheree

I was first diagnosed with IBS. I have Crohn’s disease. I used to have to go to the bathroom within 30 mins after eating. Food was barely digested. 18 years later I get partial blockages with hospital visits regularly. I don’t have answers but I do understand how horrible it can all be. Find a good doctor

  47. Rosie

God Bless you, Colin for talking about things “that no one talks about”. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be here on Hip2Save talking about my problem. I have been having problems ever since I was a kid and I never really got a diagnosis. I tried to diagnose myself and identify the problem, especially since I can’t afford to go see a doctor, so I thought it might be IBS, but not sure.

Was wondering if anyone is going through the same things. Very very irregular bowels. You have no idea how much I envy people who just wake up in the morning and are able to go….. For me, it’s random, and usually when I’m not home… when I’m out shopping or at work or at school or wherever. It is very uncomfortable. When I have to go, I get cramps, bad abdominal pains and basically I have to go. There is no postponing. I am trying to cut down gluten, but I wish I knew for sure what is causing it. It is making my life so hard 🙁

    • Betsy

So sorry you have these issues. Just mentioning, don’t know what state you live in, but have you checked premiums since the Affordable Care Act has taken effect. I know a few people that have gotten insurance for first time, or switched plans etc and saved money. Best.

  48. sarah

I may have posted this before… but I try to get to our staples when they have these free or almost free paper deals whether I need it or not. Our schools are so strapped for $$ here, they always need paper, so I buy them then give them to my kid’s teacher. I try to post the staples coupon link on my facebook to tell other parents. Such an easy and really cheap way to help local schools!! And thanks for the video… always entertaining & informative! 🙂

    • Dianne

I am a retired teacher Sarah and do the same thing. By the end of the year I have at least 2-3 cases to donate to our church school. It is an easy way to make a teacher’s day!

  49. Dianne

Collin I did these deals at Staples today but also got the Brother Labeler and here’s how I did it. Staples will price match other office Supply stores like Office Depot which has the same labeler on the back page of their ad for $19.99, a higher up person stepped in when the (new) cashier said he didn’t know what to do and said they would only price match it up to the $30 Easy Rebate amount because they couldn’t allow me to make money on them. I’ve never had that happen, always got the price match price but went with it, free is good. But the funny thing was the markers did register the 25% Discount for the office supplies coupon and got an additional $.90 off and will get back the entire $4.49 rebate, so it did turn into a MMer. SHHHHH…and I also use my AMX card (paying it off every month of course) and I get back 5% when I use it at any Office Supply store, KACHING!!

  50. Jessika

Hi Collin. I was wondering about the easy rebates if let’s say for sake of argument I bought 4 packs of markers would I get 4 rebates? I have never shopped at a Staples and I think there is one near me and if there is then I want to try it out.
