Ever since my husband installed ceilings @ Outback Steakhouse 5 yrs ago or so, we haven’t stepped foot in 1 of their restaurants. The rats that were found in the ceiling & the kitchen pretty much killed us eating there. Ever.
Many years ago my then husband and I met up at Outback after work. We were the second customers in the door and we were there they when they opened. We order our drinks and as we start deciding what to order, I see a half of a roach in my soda (yes, half!). I called waitress over and she looks, puts it down and comes back with the manager. The manager comes over, looks and says to the waitress in a Sherlock Holmes fashion… “Yep, it’s a roach” and hurries off with my glass. Waitress brings a new one.. No mention of can I comp your soda, offer a dessert, coupon for next time… Nothing. I’ve eaten there three times in the last 10-12 yrs which is how long it’s been since this incident happen. Each time it’s been a business meal and I go because I don’t want to explain why and gross everyone out.
Check your local news on how to check county/state health inspections – there may be decent restaurants. I totally understand where you are coming from though- I got food poisoning (was hospitalized) from Pizza Hut 12 yrs ago – they took no responsibility at the corporate level so I haven’t eaten their pizza for 12 yrs.
